Man protests commercialisation of Xmas by nailing Santa to a cross
Art Conrad hung a Santa from a cross in front of his Washington home, to make a statement about the commercialisation of Christmas.
“Santa has been perverted from who he started out to be,” Conrad said. “Now he’s the person being used by corporations to get us to buy more stuff.”
A photo of the crucified Santa adorns Conrad’s Christmas cards, with the message “Santa died for your MasterCard”.

No, Santa was about giving not just about toys..look up the true story of st nick, where Santa came from..i hear what he’s saying but he got a little too extreme
I only celebrate Christmas because its a time for the family to get together because we’re spread across the states. It really pisses me off when people focus on Jesus’ birth when its straight bull****! The overly religious people really piss me off around this time, celebrating Christmas but wont celebrate Halloween…smh!
@ abhor, christmas is a christian holiday. The whole theme behind this holiday is celebrating the birth of Jesus christ. If your not a christian you should not be celebrating then….
Christmas is definitely NOT a Christian Holiday, It was orginally a pagan holiday. Jesus was NOT born on DECEMBER 25th! Maybe you should check out your history and rethink your religon
^^abhor is correct, it is a pagan holiday the same as halloween among other things that are celebrated…Don’t celebrate things just because it’s family tradition or because someone said to do it..celebrate because you understand where it comes from and you agree with it..you’d be surprised of the things you find out if you dig a little deeper into the meaning of it all

But yes, Christmas is a pagan holiday dealing with the stars and what not. I don’t celebrate Christmas not because its pagan-related but because I see my family everyday and I dont need for it to be a holiday to get em presents either.

I am not an overly religious person, but some of you are going straight to hell. It is only in the US that Christmas is all about this commercialization. In countries that really think they need God, Christmas is ALL about the birth of Jesus Christ. I dont buy into all that commercialization. This man has a point. All this Santa-ing is just ridiculous!

I think it’s really sad that whoever felt the need to do that to make a point!! everyone is not gonna see eye to eye on this but I personally think it may be too much hype around Christmas, I remember when I was a lil girl I couldn’t wait but now that I’m older with my own kids I feel it may be a lil overrated maybe it has to do with the times!! although hanging poor santa from a cross is a bit much!! I hope everyone enjoyed there Christmas

Did you not read my previous post? I care because CHRISTMAS is a pagan holiday and was not originally about Christ’s birth. Nowhere does it say Christ was born on DECEMBER 25th..maybe you and the other nay sayers should research the truth about Christmas and about “Christianity”. I gather with family on that day because my family is spread across the states and i’m away at school. I mentioned that in my previous posts but maybe you’re a selective reader.

I dont think I singled out anyone, but if the shoe fits, wear it boo! Now that you mention, maybe you are included in the mix? That comment was not directed at anyone in particular, but I was “abhorred” by some of the statements I read. I wasnt taking notice of who said what!

I felt that you were singling me out because i was the only one to make the comment about “over religious people”.
