Jay Z’s 40/40 club can’t pass inspection
Jay Z Stans fans who received the special casino slot machine invites to his NYE bash at the 40/40 are disappointed this morning. For instance, Ne-Yo was showing off his invite which adorns his desk at his studio. Sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that Jay-Z’s new 40/40 club in Las Vegas did not pass their inspection.
That’s too bad for Jay Z and his Stans fans. I’m sure some hotel in Las Vegas will be happy to cancel someone’s New Year’s Eve plans to accommodate the jigga and BeYaki who had planned a concert to ring in the New Year. Pardon me as I stifle a yawn. This is all very boring, but some of you care so I’m posting this story.
The venue won’t open as previously planned, throwing a major curveball to the rapper and entrepreneur.”Unless Jay-Z and his team miraculously come up with certain licenses and certificates by Sunday, then they won’t be able to go on with their New Year’s Eve party plans,” a source familiar with the situation tells us.
Not only that, Jigga and his team have to refund all tickets for the opening, which will add even more costs to their starting on the wrong foot Sin City venture.

I am just curious. I recently heard a rumor that Jay-Z and Beyonce are actually gay and that they just use each other to keep people off the radar about their alternative lifestyles (like Usher and his “wife”). Have you heard anything about this? It’s a pretty wide spread rumor. Feel free not to approve this post and/or please don’t put me out there on your website lol. While the Palazzo is unable to commit to a soft-opening date, music mogul Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club, a sports-themed restaurant at the Palazzo, is still planning to open Sunday night, according to club spokeswoman Alissa Kelly.
Las Vegas Sands Corp. shares fell $1.95, or 1.81 percent, Thursday to close at $105.97 on the New York Stock Exchange.

A representative for Jay-Z’s 40/40 club today (December 29) shot down rumors claiming that the franchise’s opening in Las Vegas is in jeopardy because of failed inspections.
Various media outlets reported yesterday (December 28) that Jay-Z’s Las Vegas 40/40 franchise would not be opening tomorrow (December 30) because the club failed its health and safety inspections.
The reports also claimed the club lacked certain licenses and certificates.
Alissa Kelly, a media rep for the 40/40, confirmed to Sixshot.com today that the 40/40 will be opening at the Palazzo Hotel as planned.
“The rumors are absolutely not true,” Kelly told Sixshot.com “As of right now we are moving forward with tomorrow’s grand opening”
The opening of 40/40 in Las Vegas on Sunday will mark the franchise’s third expansion. The other two 40/40’s are located in New York and New Jersey.
Various celebrities expected to attend the Las Vegas 40/40 opening tomorrow (December 30) include Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Barry Bonds, Outkast’s Big Boi, Carmelo Anthony, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels,Gnarls Barkley, Jamie Foxx, Lebron James, Mos Def, Ne-Yo, Talib Kweli and Timbaland, among others.
Opening a 40/40 isn’t the only thing Jay-Z will be doing in Vegas. As reported earlier, the rapper will performing at the Palms Casino tonight (December 29).
Hov, who recently stepped down from his President/CEO position at Def Jam Records, has kept his name in headlines this year with his business moves.

Jay-Z Preempts 40/40 Opening With Star Studded Concert

As Jay-Z prepares to open his latest 40/40 venture in Las Vegas, he treated the city of sin to a concert unlike any other.
Before the concert, however, there had been rumors that 40/40’s doors would be closed before they ever opened. A claim that a 40/40 publicist confirmed as “not true” to HipHopDX.com.
“Everything is going on as scheduled,” said the source who stated that any issues with certificates and licenses has been resolved. “We’re excited for this club to finally open.”
But before Jay-Z can open 24,000 square foot sports bar laced with 24k gold and platinum floors, he decided to treat Las Vegas to a concert like none other.
What was billed “An Evening With Jay-Z” turned out to be much more than that at The Pearl located in the Palms Hotel & Casino on December 29th. With celebrities such as Suge Knight, Too Short and Kevin Hart scattered in the crowd, Hov crept onto the stage in front of a sold out crowd with an 11-piece band in tow. With the Roots’ ?uestlove on the drums, Just Blaze serving as DJ and backup vocals courtesy of Bilal, it was evident that this would be a pre-New Year’s bash that nobody would soon forget.
As Jay raced through joints like “Hovi Baby,” “Public Service Announcement,” “You Don’t Know,” and “Party Life” (complete with Bilal serving up a smooth Curtis Mayfield rendition afterwards), he pulled some hefty tricks from out of his black button down’s sleeves.
As he mumbled through the lyrics of Fabolous’ “You Make Me Better,” Jay-Z called for someone who could do it better than he can as Ne-Yo appeared on stage and performed that and “Because Of You.” As Jay opened up to the ladies with “Excuse Me Miss,” Beanie Sigel and Memphis Bleek joined him for the remix and “Change The Game.” Not to be outdone, Kanye West rushed the stage to perform “Can’t Tell Me Nothin” and “Good Life” as Mary J Blige followed behind to join Hov on “Song Cry” and “Can’t Knock The Hustle” before rocking her new single “I’m Fine” and old favorite “Not Gonna Cry.”
As if that wasn’t enough, Jay closed out the show by bringing back all of his Roc-A-Fella family for an amazing closer of “Roc Boys” and “Encore” as the crowd chanted “Hova” until the artists and band left the stage.
