I usually read your blog daily, but have missed a few days because of the holiday. You can imagine my surprise New Year's Eve when I checked your page before going to bed and found the name of a friend. I met Darrius whan I lived in Atlanta a few years back. We had lost touch over the years but he made a lasting impression. When I read the article saying a man had turned himself in for assaulting Darrius my mouth flew open. Who would do something like this to Darrius? Sandra anyone who knew knows Darrius knows he is a great guy. Always looking out for other people. I can not count the times he looked out for me when I lived in Atlanta. He didn't know me. We met through mutual friends but I knew when I saw him he always had my back. If I passed him on my way out to my car he would say "You all-right, let me walk you to your car." Even if we hadn't said two-words to each other that night, he still looked out for me. That was the type of guy he was. I can't belive somthing so bad has happened to such a good person. Who once again, was trying to do the right thing. He was doing exactly what I would hope any man would do, come to the aid of a woman. He didn't deserve what happened to him and I hope that ALL of the people involved pay dearly. Not only for what they did but for making it harder on real men. Making it dangerous to stand up for a womans honor. No matter who the woman is. I hope Darrius recovers soon, so he can identify each and every "BOY" involved so they can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
