I ran into Sean Combs‘ baby mama Sarah Chapman last night at the well-attended AG Entertainment Christmas party at Luckie Restaurant & Lounge. Every time I see Sarah I ask her to show me a picture of her daughter Chance Chapman Combs. She always says she doesn’t have a picture – but last night was different.

Sarah put her drink down and reached into her Chanel purse. I watched her intently as she rooted around in her purse searching for the pic only to come up empty handed.

“Wrong purse,” she said with a smile. “I don’t have her picture in this purse.” I couldn’t believe it. Don’t women normally switch everything from one purse to the other? “Could you email me a small pic?” I begged. “Are you going to put it on your site?” she asked. I paused because I had to think about that one. “You don’t realize how big your site is, Sandra. I don’t want my baby on the Internet like that,” she said with a wide grin.

Sarah noted the lack of amusement on my face and she told me everyone would see Chance soon enough: Chance is signed with 2 modeling agencies and she recently sat for a professional modeling shoot. “She had professional photos taken,” said Sarah, “I’ll make sure you get one first,” she promised.

So I had to put it out there. Not to put pressure on Sarah, but just so she doesn’t forget. My readers love you and Chance, Sarah. :)

Thanks to loyal reader Bird for this link to a post on Wikipedia which describes the history of the traditional Muslim headdress called a keffiyeh. I incorrectly called it a jalabia which is a traditional Muslim dress.

In response to the following email from a loyal reader, I did not say the trend was new to the urban community, I said it was a new trend in Hip Hop. Although Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley and producer Pharrell Williams wore the scarf last year, they did not inspire many artists to wear it regularly as they do now.

Jermaine Dupri was the first to popularize the scarf among other Hip Hop artists. After JD wore the scarf months ago to an industry event, Jay Z wore a similar scarf to the David Letterman Show and that’s when the trend really took off in Hip Hop circles.

Ms Rose,
Love your page but just need to correct you that the statement you made the new style first made popular by Island Records president of Urban Music, Jermaine Dupri is completely FALSE! being a Stylist for 10 years and styling many celebrities, the jalabia has gained notice for over a year and a half now as I should know I have styled the likes of Pharrell Williams and have worked closely alongside AndrĂ© Leon Talley, who was pictured wearing one last year. I would just like to correct you on that and also celebrities in Europe i.e. London have been seen wearing it rotatiously – JERMAINE DUPRI was not the first to make it popular.Happy Holidays

Lyfe Jennings was the in-studio guest on the Porsche Foxx show today which you heard on V-103. Lyfe wouldn’t discuss the ugly incident between himself and Yung Joc who Lyfe accused of stealing one of his songs. Word is Lyfe showed up at V-103 a couple of months ago while Joc was being interviewed live on the air. Fisticuffs were avoided but Lyfe is still hot about the incident.

Lyfe re-recorded the track with T.I. and it will be featured on his new CD that Porsche previewed on her show.

You can catch Lyfe live tonight at Joyce Littel’s presents AT&T Soul Session at Sugar Hill in Underground Atlanta. The event is free but get there early.

As always, a special thank you to Porsche Foxx for the personal invite!

R. Kelly showed up for court in Chicago today, effectively voiding the bench warrant that had been issued by a judge yesterday. The judge had threatened to have him arrested if it happened again. We need the judge to expedite this trial and put this child molester behind bars where he belongs. If T.I. can go to jail then so can R. Kelly. I love his music but he is a sick man and we need to stop making excuses for men like him.

Thanks to loyal reader Mya (Fox News Chicago) for the link and photos!
