I am officially an Oprah Winfrey convert now. You remember I told you about Oprah’s mostly white female viewers who called her a traitor for voting for Barack Obama? Oprah called them “narrow minded” and basically told them to kiss her a*s!

I’m almost sold on Obama, but there is something shady I hear in his voice. I don’t know if he just has so many ideas, and they are all fighting to get out, and that’s why he speaks so fast, or is he a slickster that knows how to double talk and say all the right things at the right time?
Last time i checked the Electoral College decided The President and NOT “the people”..so until we abolish the Electoral college our vote really DOES NOT count!

Oprah has the right to endorse whomever she pleases. It’s very funny how we as a people behave. Carol Moseley Braun, a former Senator and a black woman just as qualified as Mr. Obama ran for president in the 2004 elections, not a single one of all these folks ridding Mr. Obama’s bangwagon were singing her praises as they are doing Mr. Obama. Mr. Obama, does nothing but make promises and promises. When you listen to him, he offers no specifics as to how he’s going to pay for or accomplish all the things he’s talking about. The man is not ready to lead.

Statements like that (money to the dogs) is typically made by folks who don’t have the means to be a philanthropist, some barely even tithe. IT sounds a bit hater-ISH.

I would guarantee that is not the only place she will leave it and where ever it will go, I am sure it will make an impact. I’m not a Carol fan or anything like that, but compare to Barack, She gave specifics as to how she was going to pay for or execute all the programs she was proposing. All Barack does is give a good speech and thats it. Tell me how you’re going to implement the programs you’re proposing and let them be very realistic. Don’t sell me something that you yourself haven’t figure out how it’s going to be achieved. Barach isn’t ready.

I’m in agreement with “ggouch” What business is it of yours how Oprah spends her money? She also gives lots of money to charity so if she wants to leave money for her dogs care, who are you to judge? What does that have to do with anything? Does it discredit her in anyway? IT SHOULDN’T.
Barack is a great leader. He is ready and able. Because he isn’t cut throat and has no skeletons in his closet people like to think he “isn’t ready”. Listen closely. The man has a plan. Read between the lines. Don’t vote for him because he is a black man, vote for him because his views for this country match your own. Obama has run a clean campaign while Clinton keeps trying to get him to fight dirty. As soon as he defends himself he is considered “looking for trouble”…..
Vote for who you’d like, just make informed, INTELLIGENT decisions based on FACTS not gossip, or IRRELEVANCE. Certainly NOT because ANY celebrity is endorsing a candidate. What a celebrity wants for this country may not necessarily be what you want for this country. Use your own well informed judgment.

I am undecided on who I will be voting for. And, as a 26 year old African-American woman who has her BA in political science I know that I am well within my rights to say so. yes I have done my research and both of these candidates make valid points, but their views do differ from mine somewhat. And, like I eluded to earlier, i still don’t know if I like Obama, but guess what it my decision to make!!!
So am I suppose to allow narrow minded individuals like you to bully me into a decision. Get a grip and worry about your own vote.

Not trying to sound negative, but clean campaigns don’t win the White House. Never have - never will.
If Obama wins the Democratic nomination, he will definitely have to be prepared for the real possibility of fighting dirty. He has to be tested and tried like all of the Presidential candidates do. This is the one of the most - if not the most - powerful position in the world. And only the strong survive. If Obama and his supporters can’t endure the fight from Hillary (cause trust - the Clintons are going VERY EASY on him), what are they going to do if Obama goes up against the GOP later this year? They will be FAR worse than Hillary.
So what, the same way that the NOW women call Ted Kennedy are back stabber. This is suppose to be America, if he thinks Obama is the better man instead of Billery than that’s his choice. The same way with Oprah. She thinks he is better than its her choice
Also that 30 Million is her money,if she chooses to make it rain on these ****es that is her choice.
I don’t hear anybody saying **** when these dummies make it rain in every damn club they go to. That money can probably buy one of their kids some school clothes or health insurance. Instead of throwing it on some nasty punnany in the strip club especially these chicks won’t think twice of the rain maker.

Before I go further Queen, allow me to give you kudos for being “EDUCATED” and exercising your rights via written expression. You can like, vote, watch and hate on anyone you want to. Life is grand that way…..

Are you “INFORMED” that when Oprah has her give-away shows…those gifts come with a stipulation, if not for the audience, than for the companies that are donating the gifts?
For example:
She once gave $1,000 BOA debit cards to her audience. The stipulation was the recipients had to give the money, in whatever denominations they pleased, to their favorite charities, or to individuals in need.
I have to ask this question, to myself as well, what impact could my $3.75 three days a week, Starbucks purchase, make if I was diligent in giving back.
I am not on a secrete response team recruiting Oprah fans. I was just pointing out that it is her right to give what and to whom she chooses. And that as educated women, when we point out something so simplistic as Oprah leaving money to her animals, perhaps it should not stop there. It’s what most would call “Supporting the argument”…

Again if it’s out there for public scrutiny I have a right to my opinion. And, in my opinion $30 million dollars to her dogs is ridiculous. I could understand if it was to the humane society, or something, but for 6-8 dogs! Come on now. There are a few things that bother me about Oprah, and no I don’t feel the need to elaborate on what those things are to you. Just because she is an African- American woman with power does not mean that I have to be apart of her support squad.
And, as far as Oprah being an educated woman. I have never attacked her intelligence. I think that she is a beautiful, intelligent, inspirational woman. With that being said I am still entitled to my opinion of the things that are presented to me about her through the media. It may seem “hater-ish” to you, but what “hater-ish” to me is your attack on my personal opinion.
dblaq I completely agree with the second part of your statement. I am always talking about how these rapper and entertainers are quick to yell how much they love their “hood”, but don’t take the time to help their communities. If they put half of what they spend on jewelry and entertainment into community based programs they could make a world of difference. Look at the programs that entertainers like David Banner have started. He goes back to his block on a regular basis giving children cloths and food, and encouraging them to be better and strive for greatness. I commend people like that. People that take a hands on approach to the problem instead on pointing the finger and chastising.
