Bubblin’ Under: Rashad Morgan, Prince of Grand Hustle
Detroit based Rashad Morgan A.K.A. Ray Ray is a multi-talented artist being phenomenal singer, songwriter and producer. He writes and co writes all of his own material accompanies himself with his studio wizardry and sings as if his very soul depended on it. Ray Rays first single from his debut album Rashad Morgan People Call Me Ray Ray, Just Lay impacted local radio in early April, creating a buzz for him that had him showcasing his talent at various key events through out Detroit with crowds that have been very receptive. Since then he has followed up with his 2nd single What They Wanna Hear sending his buzz to a new high. The debut project Rashad Morgan People Call Me Ray Ray will feature guest appearances by Shady Recording Artist Obie Trice, Sho Nuff Recording Artist Tone Tone and SickNotes Entertainments artists lock and MaeDay and will prove to be a credible display of his musical expertise. Ray Ray is being backed by the multi-platinum producers SickNotes who are behind the hit single for Eminem / D-12 How Come (D12 world), and have also produced songs for the debut projects of Bizzare (Handicap Circus) and Proof (Searching for Andy Garcia). Yeah Rashad is a Grand Hustle secret weapon lol…I discovered him like a year ago listening to artist’s pages on Myspace. He is good…and yes kat he is fine too lol.

His music is koo…but that video don’t really match the song to me.
Okay y’all are about to hit me in the head, but I don’t think he’s all that cute. Kinda puts me in the mind set of Mario. And the song is okay, I can understand how you got that Motown feeling from it Sandra, but his voice sounds really weak on this song and the video could have been a lot better. Can you post some more of his work so we can have more to judge him by?

Rashad had been signed to GH for a minute now. He is cute and his singing is…okay. He aint bad. He’s got a diff sound…and i’m feeling the kinda ol skool motownish vibe. i’d love to bring that back.

I have recently come to the realization that today’s producers simply don’t know how to do R&B for male singers. They are so hip hop oriented that they aren’t really giving R&B singers a chance. Here you got this over the top fine a$$ dude with a great voice with a mediocre melody and below average beat. I’m getting tired of it. The same thing is happening to my boys on MTB4. All the music I have heard on the show is subpar at best and I love those guys man. I was counting on them to bring back real R&B, but how can they do that when the producers don’t know what to do with them? It might be time to bring in the veterans for the R&B cats and leave the current producers to the rappers and people who can’t really sing. They seem to do a wonderful job with them.
Anywho, I like dude. I love his voice and his overall foiness. I’m not feeling the song though. Maybe he should produce his own music.

You better preach!! After listening again. It’s not him. It’s the song. It’s not properly displaying his vocal abilities, because it’s obvious that he has range. can somebody find the guy that produced for say GUY or New Edition back in the day. Can we get some classic R&B?! I thought Lyfe Jennings was going to do it for us, but sadly he has not.
Rashad is okay. I like Governor’s music better.

3rd! Won’t comment on how fine this boy is, ’cause I’m sure I could get arrested for looking at him like that:-) I do get the old-school R&B vibe from him, though. Love his voice, but it sounds like the track is competing with the voice for attention.

It actually let you focus on the song… it has a good flow.
Maybe not the BEST song, but it has a fun, chill vibe.
