Never have I seen so many g*ddamn, excessive HAND GESTURES/MOVEMENT/WHATEVER as I did during almost every scene of this movie! And on the whole, while I like Tyler Perry, I like Madea, I like his hustle-game, etc. THIS FILM WAS HORRIBLE. People complain and wonder why it received a rating of 2 out of 10 on the IMDB.COM page? Because it was THAT BAD. HORRIBLE. Tasha Smith was funny in some scenes, but a lot of times her lines (and others) came off as FORCED and FAKE. And I read that she had been an acting coach in L.A. before taking on roles? WTF? :lol: Maybe it's all Tyler's direction and amateur screenwriting.... At any rate, congrats to Janet. It ain't an Oscar, babe, but it's love from your people. Tyler is looking for a new deal out there and he wanted to make sure he looked good to CORPORATE AMERICA, not black folks but CORPORATE AMERICA. Being up against a black actor who is active in the NAACP and beloved by black america (Denzel) is the only reason his movie didn't take Best Pic. But his little show swept the TV categories. Being best comedy over 30 Rock, Girlfriends, Everybody hates Chris and Ugly Betty, so obvious that that award last night was meant for the man that courted it the most. Ford, Chevy, Hewlett Packard, IBM all sponsored this event, these are the brand makers out there and Tyler made sure they saw him as the next hot thing. I have rarely been so surprised. I truly was ashamed to be a member last night. What was really telling was once they swept everything, Tyler and his group, including Janet, all the actors in all his movies and tv series decided that the celebration after was not for them , the one that cost a lot of money to present, they were above going. They decided to celebrate separately as if they were too good. They did not bother to go to the BHH to celebrate the NAACP. Honor an organization that has changed our history, they had used it and got the hell out. The awards last night only meant that Tyler will have an easier time crossing over wearing his dress or not. While I appreciate his hustle,I would prefer that he not play the white man's game, I would prefer that he get over on his talent and not on the backs of amazing treasures like Julian Bond and Ruby Dee. I remember in the 80's, I use to stay up to watch Janet, Tina, Lionel, and Whitney perform....the music was so great you were excited about who the winner was going to be. Now its a different generation of studio work, no one is worth buying. Every song is about money, drugs, ho's, materials, and other non important things.....whats sad is their not even creative, even though they think they are.
