Old Obama photo sparks controversy
A 2006 photo of presidential candidate Barack Obama dressed as an old woman in Somali nomadic robes has sparked a new controversy in the race for the White House. Senator Obama’s camp believes the photo was forwarded to Drudgereport.com by Senator Hillary Clinton in an attempt to smear Obama.
Senator Clinton has fallen behind Obama by 16 points in the polls and her campaign has been dogged by rumors that she is a racist. So desperate times calls for desperate measures.
Obama’s team accused a “shameful” Camp Clinton of circulating the photo of Obama dressed as a Somali elder, taken during a visit to Africa in 2006. Obama has been dogged by false rumors that he is Muslim. (Source)

I’m confused. What if he were Muslim? Would that be a freaking problem? I don’t think the pic is going to hurt him. Hills better try to get him in tonight’s debate.

Bird, I was watching CNN and one of the newcasters said that if Hilary has a shot at winning the nomination at this point, she has to start slinging mud. Looks like the games began.
He was in Africa when this photo was taken, not in the middle of a terrorist camp.
I just can’t stomach mud-slinging by EITHER side; it’s a sure sign of desperation.
This amn is NOT dressed like an old women!!!! He is in another country and out of RESPECT to the country that he is wearing that attire. Just like anyone else that visits another country will wear something from their culture. Beyonce went all over the world with her tour and some kind of clothing,tatoo’s etc when she was a vistor. Also what is sooo wrong if he was a muslim??? George W.Bush is a christian and look how he has screwd up this damn country.So I don’t get this relgion attack at all.

It matters because the media has skewed many people into believing that muslims are “bad” and against us. If they can pin something on him that society already views as negative then they can sway peoples way of thinking. The thing is, I actually know people that say we’re screwed if he becomes President because he is muslim. I honestly don’t know if the man is muslim or not as I’m pretty sure the people that said weren’t solid on that fact as well. They just pick up what they hear on tv and run with it like alot of America.
Enough is enough already stop it with these childish antics, why now all of a sudden all of these things are surfacing aainst Obama, in my opinion it shouldn’t matter he’s the MAN for the job & Im sure America see’s that & some ol ass pic shouldn’t mske a bit of difference, I like Hilary & all but if she is resorting to this, than that’s low & petty!! Obama get ur bags ready boo you will be moving to Washington!!!

The media doesn’t shape my view of anything and certainly doesn’t make me into a bigot. Anyone that says they have a problem with Barack being muslim, which he is not, wouldn’t support him no matter what.
Like Obama said during the last debate, “here is where we enter silly season in politics”. So the more desperate the Clintons’ become, the sillier their tactics will be. I hope you guys have braced yourself, because this is nothing compared to what’s sure to come. It’s going to be interested to see how Hillary explains this one during the debate tonight.
Will there ever be another campaign without mudslinging? Probably not.
Bird I wasn’t referring to you if it doesn’t apply to you but I’m sure we all know atleast one person that goes off of what they see on tv and assume it to be true unbiased information. Those are the people I’m referring to. It’s sad but it is a reality.
I after I posted on myspace that I was a Obama supporter, a friend of mine send be some bull s**t saying before you vote for Obama, I want you to know that he may be a muslim and he didnt salute the flag.
At first I was like WTF??? and I asked him what he had against muslims, and he gave me that answer that Caucasian folks love to give black folks when they swear that theyre not racist. You know that “Its not that I have a problem with them…but its just you know..”

Since Sept. 11, I think it’s pretty safe to say that the media (or whoever is to blame, doesn’t really matter) has made many, many Americans uneasy/scared of muslims….and Hillary knows it.
The whole thing does wreaks of subliminal racism to me…..

What I don’t get is why him being a Muslim would be such a bad thing? Isn’t his platform about change and tolerance? So what’s the big d@mn deal about him being dressed like this in another country where this is the traditional attire? If anything this photo only serves to show that he can handle himself internationally which is what we need in a leader.
