R. Kelly responds to George Daniels
R. Kelly released a statement late today in response to allegations made by Chicago businessman and Kelly’s former manager, George Daniels. In a written statement to TMZ.com, Kelly’s spokesman resorted to catty mudslinging against Regina Daniels, Kelly’s former publicist:
“It’s hard to take seriously the moral outrage expressed by George and Regina Daniels over R. Kelly’s relationship with Mr. Daniels’ adult daughter, Maxine. The fact is that they had no problem with the relationship — indeed, they encouraged it — while Ms. Daniels was on Mr. Kelly’s payroll.
It was Regina Daniels, then working as a publicist for Mr. Kelly, who persuaded him to attend her step-daughter’s 21st birthday party. And it was Regina Daniels who shortly thereafter gave her step-daughter Mr. Kelly’s private phone number, with the admonition: ‘Don’t tell your father.’ It was only after Ms. Daniels resigned her position to avoid being fired for incompetence that her stepdaughter’s relationship suddenly became an issue for her and her husband.”

My take on it is, Kellz not once thought about the effects this may have on his wife and kids. I wish Drea and kids the best. My heart goes out to her. How much can one woman take with an adulterous spouse. I will continue to keep her and the kids in my prayers. She is doing so well with her dance companies Dream Tu Dance & Andrea Kelly Dance Theater. She recently did some performances in Chicago on January 18 & 20. I was so proud of her and her work. As a die hard fan of Kellz I am very disappointed with his actions.
In addition, let’s not forgot there are two people to blame here. Maxine Daniels is not a child. She is a grown ass woman. Who is 21 years of age. She is trifling as hell and have the nerve to have Drea on her top friends list on myspace. Bitch please!!!
I agree with the comments. If she was having sexual relations with R. Kelly at 21 then there really much to this, she is grown. But knowing R. Kelly’s past history with young girls such as Aaliyah the relationship between the young woman and him probably started when she was a teenager..

Actually aqtpie you are incorrect. Andrea Kelly and R. Kelly are still legally married. They never divorced. At the time they were reconciling and were seen at the Beyonce Concert After party last year sometimes.

I’m confused-is she 21 now or was she 21 when this started? I’m not sure if her parents would be so ticked if she were legal age when it was going on. Sounds like something might have happened when she was younger, while he was still married. And yeah, knowing his tastes, I wouldn’t have ANY young women in my family around R-uh!
I thought his wife was somewhat young when they married not underage but definitley younger than he was & she was also a backup dancer I think thats how they met!! anyway it’s still sickening to even think that your husband is out here cheating & to find out that it’s with youngins!! & not only that, it’s being video taped I feel sorry for his girls & I pray they will never have to go through anything like that.

Everyone has speculated why the Daniels left R. Kelly’s employment. Now that they have officially done that, it’s time for the mudslinging to begin. Instead of going to TMZ (which I love) why not why not take them to court and sue them for slander or libel. Hell, R-Kelly will already be there. -smile- My personal two cents is that there is something wrong with R. Kelly. I don’t know what, but there is something wrong with him. He is no better than Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and yes the ever popular Michael Jackson. The love attention that we provide.
The Daniels really couldn’t do anything about it because their daughter was over 18. So cut these parents some slack. If they are lying, it will come back to them in spades. Karma is a mu-pucker!

Sometimes we are so quick to jump to the defense of these celebrities. We all know R. Kelly has a history of doing inappropriate acts with underaged girls. This is not the first time. Why is he basically being excused? Some are calling the parents names, the 21-year old is being called a hoe, the young girl in the video was called “fast and Hot” but what is this grown ass 40 something year old, married, father of 3 being called? NOTHING. Just because his income is higher than the average man, his morals are definitely lower. He does not get a pass because he is rich. He is still wrong for having spent a lot to time around this girl-since age 6 or something- he was watching and waiting for her to get old enough. That is a predator. But the problem I have with the Daniel’s is this…even though I dont believe George knew and the stepmom didnt give a damn,she was telling her to get it while she could. They still knew the kind of man he is while steadily defending him but it hurts when it hits home. Now its a problem when the wolf comes sniffing around his henhouse. But what about all the other chickens R. plucked?
