Update: According to my loyal reader Rodney, the custom Hermes cost a tidy $67,000.
Thanks to loyal reader Darnell for verifying that the purple Hermès carried by Pharrell Williams in an earlier post does belong to him. In the following post from Pharrell’s blog, he explains he traveled to Paris to pick up his custom made Hermès, which is normal procedure for the elite who can afford these bags. Most Hermès are made to order.
Stopped by Hermes yesterday to pick up my new travel bag. Hermes is a world famous luxury goods company originally known for it’s leather goods including it’s saddles and famous silk scarves. This purple croc bag is a “Haut A Courroie” which is the original Birkin bag. This bag is a custom piece hand made in the Paris shop. The key chain was made by Jacob. (Source)
Lucky him. A Hermès croc had to set him back 20 grand at least.

What a waste of money. People are out here starving and they are spending $20k on a purse. A purple purse at that. And they killed an innocent alligator to make it…Wheres PETA? lol
I think its a waste of money as well but trust it will be the new “it” brand and people are going to run them damn bags in the ground just like they did with all the other designer names. IE: Gucci, Louis Vuitton etc.

As people already stated, these celebs buy bags/purses for no other reason other than they can, and to prove that they got money.
That’s probably why I have so much respect for Angelina Jolie, she donets like 1/3 of her income to charity and you never see her rocking ridiculously expensive purses…b/c she knows that there are more important things to “splurge” on.

Say it ain’t so? I can understand wanting a custome travel case ( I actually want a custome truck for that purpose), but why would a man want a purple bag? yes it is the color of Royalty, but it’s not even a manly (dark) purple.
He could stand to take notes from Jeezy and used the money instead to help out someone who really needed it. That purse could have bought 2 of those special vans that jeezy just bought. tsk tsk tsk
What a complete waste of money. Even if I could afford that I don’t know that I’d buy that. I’d like to think that I’m the kind of person who’d give back to the community and people who really need help and what not, but we all know money changes people.
Actually Pharrell does a lot of good for the community. He is actually working on building a community center for kide here in Virginia Beach. Just because you don’t here about it every day, doesn’t mean its not being done.
Now correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Hermes the same company Oprah had beef with awhile back.
