Janet on Ryan Cameron Show: I’d like to have children the natural way
Island Records sent out a press release yesterday trumpeting Janet Jackson’s return to #1 after 7 years. According to L.A. Reid, Island Def Jam’s embattled chairman, the Worldwide 100 million-selling megastar Janet Jackson returns to Soundscan’s #1 position on the Billboard 200 albums chart with first week sales of 181,075 units. Discipline marks Janet’s first #1 Soundscan album debut in nearly seven years, since All For You in May 2001.
Word is, Reid is telling anyone who will listen that 180,000 is the new 500,000.
“Janet delivered an amazing album and Island Def Jam is on a mission to deliver big results for her in every way,” said Mr. Reid, who already delivered $40 million to Janet in the form of a signing bonus when she moved over to Island from Virgin Records. “Janet is musical royalty who only deserves the very best,” he said.
Yesterday, Janet called in to V-103’s popular Ryan Cameron Show which is on location at Disney World. Ryan initially put his good friend Janet at ease with the easy questions such as how she felt about being #1 again. Then he hit her with the rumor: “Why did you tell Tyra Banks you gonna freeze your eggs?” Click below to hear Janet stutter.

I only could listen to a lil bit of it Janet talks so damn soft, I just want one day for her to yell & scream & let it out(lol) aside from the interview what the hell is that device on her face, I mean I can make my own assumption but it just looks a lil wierd on her face, is that where it belongs?(lmao) I always heard heard Janet was a closet freak!!

Are labels really more concerned with #1 albums than record sales? While Janet’s last two albums may not have been #1’s they both had much higher first week sales than this one. I’m hoping her new video will pump life into the sales. I did my part by purchasing the album.
What happened to Cherie Dennis (is that her name)? Didn’t she come out last week too? How did she do?

I am sure she does that at least once a week. You just need to be a fly on her wall. JJ will have the cutest kids. She was such a cutie pie when she was little and Jermaine’s dtr is a little doll.
180,000 is today’s 500,000. I don’t think so. But she will continue to pad her bank account with her tour receipts, I am certain.
Forgot to add: She doesn’t need albums. Just tour every 4 years.

@ bird….i forgot all about cheri dennis. i’m curious as to how she did too. she didn’t get much promotion from what i can see. i don’t even hear her song on the radio. i just saw the video a few times.

Poor Cheri Dennis, that just goes to show you how much Diddy cares about his artist, so I guess she will be given the boot sooner or later cause she isn’t selling!! I miss the old Bad Boy anyway!! things seem to have went down hill since Faith, 112, Carl Thomas, Total & the rest of the good ones left maybe thats why he is so heavy into this reality tv thing now cause thats where the jist of his money comes from, that & Sean John….Take that take that (lmao)
honestly i think if janet still makes music its simply for the love of it, i mean that woman is filthy rich , sold 100 million worldwide she has nothing to proove,

there are certain things you need to know about music, first music is a business like any other and for a business to be successful it needs consumers after the product receives a certain type of promotion(advertisement if you will)
i`m curious to know if you bought cheri dennis`s album? if your answer is no, then my other question is why? didnt you know the album was out? i`m sure you did and why didnt you buy it? if you dont but artists cds and chose to illegally download or buy counterfeit copies(not you specifically) how do we expect to have good sales? what is diddy suppose to do? come to your house and force to go out there and buy the cd? i mean lets get real !!!!
walmart and coca cola keep existing because hundreds of millions of people buy their products if these people stop buying then its a wrap not matter how giant the corporations can be, so in conclusion i would like to say dont blame diddy , blame either yourself for not buying the cds or the people who chose the illegal way

^^Tupac was known to have a dirty dick on the set, she wouldn’t kiss him which is why it wasn’t in the scene if i remember correctly.I read on another blog that Cheri Dennis only did 10k or so..which is really bad considering how long she has been waiting to come out
