Atlanta Tornado Aftermath
Hi all. Thanks for your concern. Yes, Atlanta was hit by a severe storm last night. But the areas affected were a small part of downtown and outlying areas. Most of us did not even feel a breeze last night. My power didn’t even go out and I only live 10 minutes from downtown.
But you know how the media blows everything out of proportion. The CNN complex was hit the hardest, so, of course they’re going to make it seem as if the whole of Atlanta is under a state of emergency. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

That is a sign. Of all things the CNN buildig was hit the hardest; talk about the wrath of God. THey better leave Obama alone.
God is good though and I’m happy nothing was serious.A tornado a town not too far from me and not to long ago in Alabama, but missed it by chance.Damn I haven’t been by the cnn tower since I was like 10 years old.
I live in Midtown and last night the wind and the rain were smacking against my window I just thought it was a bad thunderstorm, but even though no one was hurt, its nothing to be swept under the rug because Mother Nature is unpredictable, and its a lot stuff going on in Atlanta thats less than pleasing so I think people should watch what they say before the city gets swept away like the N.O.

Glad it wasn’t as bad as the news made it seem.
We had a tornado in Memphis a few weeks back. Several people died and many lost homes, cars and jobs.
A mall was hit that I doubt will ever open again.
Mother Nature is no joke.

I was watching that on last nights news…i called my brother who lives in Atlanta he said he felt nothing only saw it on news! But im happy no on was hurt
How can the media be blowing things out of proportions when people were injured. Grant it they arent serious injuries but nevertheless, their life is disrupted for a short period. Not to mention those on the outskirts (Hall County) who’s homes were destroyed.
Thankfully we left the Hawks game early last night to attend another engagement, but whats small to one person may be the world to the next. Never underestimate the power of God and what he can do.
AM GLAD EVERY BODY IS SAFE I JUST LEFT ATL BEFORE THEY GOT HIT I AM ONE LUCKY PERSON. I CALL ALL MY FAMILY WHO LEAVE THERE THEY THAT THEY ARE OK AND SAFE.
I’ve also seen pictures from the damaged homes, and for those who lost their homes I don’t think they would take this sweeping it under the rug so lightly…..
The entire city of Atlanta is under a state of emergency and while I do agree that sometimes the media blows things out of porportion, mother nature is not a joke. I applaud Channel 2 and Channel 5’s coverage, particulary on 3/15/08. I live in a suburban area of Atlanta and I definitely was in the basement (that hail had me shook). You never know when the temperature is warm and there are severe storms when or where a tornado will form. My condolences go out to the families of those two people who lost their lives yesterday.

i’m sorry i was in the tornado. i had not clue it was coming…i was traveling on 20 to 85 north alot of rain and wind…then i heard on the radio that a tornado warning was in effect. not knowing that i was headed right towards it. when i got on 85 1 exit before the freedom parkway exit the window was blowing so…so hard. i looked to my left and saw the funnel with debris flying around in it (unbelievable). then in my mind i was thinking it was going to flip my truck over..because it was shaking..then debris was flying everywhere…hitting my truck from all angles. well…my back passenger window blew out and i thought to myself this is it. luckily i was approaching the exit at freedom parkway and was able to get off. as i was driving power cords were hanging down. all the lights were off. people were driving crazy. rubble was on top of cars it was a mess. i’ve never experienced anything like that in my life and i was scared to death. even though the media didn’t send out a warning until 8 minutes before it came.
i meant to say window. still traumatized by it.
