Judge: T.I. allowed to attend Easter Sunday service
A federal magistrate judge has given permission for T.I. to attend Easter services this Sunday at New Birth Missionary Baptist church. The judge ruled Thursday that the 27-year-old rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, can be away from home from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday for services by New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.
T.I. is on house arrest awaiting trial on federal gun charges. He was arrested Oct. 13, just blocks away and hours before he was to headline the BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta. Harris was allegedly trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers. (Source)
I will be among the groupies who found themselves a new church home on Sunday as I put on my Sunday best and head on over to New Birth. I wonder if there’s a cover charge to get in?

I’m with you Sandra. When I first read the story I was thinking it was odd that they would release where he is attending service. It’s going to be a circus at the church.

I know there are some praying folks up in here, I really hope something is said Sunday to minister to his soul. There are kids involved that end up paying dearly for the choices made by parents. *****Easter’s not about chocolate bunnies and dyed eggs. I can see 40 hoochies heading up to the church house to try to get a glimpse.
It is so crowded at the Dome for Newbirth’s services on Easter, he will blend in with the crowd. I am so happy to hear that he can get his praise on. I don’t know him as T.I., I know him as Tip. He and Tameka make the cutest couple to me.
Easter service for New Birth was normally held at the Georgia Dome. So I wonder where they’re going to have it now. Because Easter service is always pack at New Birth then T.I. is going to be there. Eddie Long is gone long that sunday offering.

I understand that it is Easter and all but if he really was concerned about giving praise why didnt he intially ask the judge for permission to go to church on every Sunday not as if he was doing anything else….. my black people will forget the true reason for the season.

sandra- make sure you get some good shots. let’s see if he’s put on a lil weight…you know when you are in the house that long there is only a few things you can be doing, eating, sleeping, watching movies…and well..we all know the last one…lol.

I hope this doesn’t overshadow the true meaning of the service. It’s not a TYPICAL EASTER SUNDAY SERVICE anyway. Maybe TI will get on the podium and say a few things
I agree with hellava10, I hope that T.I. is able to receive a word from God for his situation. I have been praying for him since this started. He is my favorite rapper and I will be glad when this storm is over for him. He is going through a process that will strengthen his character. Resurrection Sunday services for New Birth will still be at the Georgia Dome. No storm can stop what God will do in that place on Sunday.
Lastly, the price for admission was paid on the cross!

I just don’t undrestand why TI is on house arrest anyway…I mean come on now he is not a threat what is he going to do shoot up some s%*&. I think he knows better then that…. The juge needs to quit playing and dismiss his case, there are real killers, and sex offenders out here that need more attention them someone with a collection of firearms. Geeesh… but I am glad he is able to attend church this easter sunday good for him.

What were all the guns needed for???? and days before he was attempting to purchase all those guns he just got in a fight at a strip club so he may have been trying to retaliate he very much so is a threat to the community and be a star or not if you violate the law then you need to be punished according to the law… personally I don’t care for his azz and he does dumb $hit to himself all the time..
