I think its impossible to believe that there is only 1 path to GOD. Think of the people in different parts of the world that have yet to be exposed or may never be exposed to "Christianity"...will they go to hell to?! I think people do make the mistake of putting GOD in a box. Thats the problem i had with Christianity which eventually led to me leaving the church. Many people just believe in a certain religion without doing their research, Christianity (as well as other religions) have always been use to control the masses, they used scare tactics (DONT DO THIS OR YOU GO TO HELL) to get you to do what THEY want you to do..Everyone is trying to fight to prove that their beliefs are truer than the other and i think people have lost focus. JUST LOVE GOD! All of these different organized religions have caused separatism among people, caused plenty of wars, and led people to lose focus of whats real... Oh, and about OBAMA, i know many people only started getting into him because of OPRAH endorsing him...thats stupid because Oprah doesnt truly care who is in office..She hasnt voted since 1988 and nothing thats going on in our economy directly effects her...shes the richest woman in the world..Also, no matter who you vote for, Obama, Clinton, Mccain they are all running the same game and on the same team. Obama IS for change, the NEW WORLD ORDER kind..ha ha! stop being sheep and having people tell you how to think, its sickening. Are they saying he might be evil or even the Antichrist? It doesn't seem as if anyone has addressed that in their commentary.... Secondly--I don't think that the book (which I have read) is asking anyone to change their religion or the God that they believe in. I think the book's main focus is a spiritual one not religious and the argument is being made that we are spiritual beings with much greater potential than we aspire to achieve. Tolle speaks about people being wrapped up in consumerism (buying things to make themselves feel better and never being satisfied in life or with their present circumstances). He addresses negative belief systems that people hold about themselves due to past experiences that keep them from being happy or feeling fufilled. I don't think any of these ideals are problematic for me as a Christian. Third---I don't consider Oprah to be a prophet or myself to be a member of her "church". The last time I checked I belong to a non-denominational Chrisitian Church. Personally I think you should be able to consider other points of view without feeling threatend about your own belief system.
