Publicist: Shawty Lo Does Not Have AIDS

Rumors are swirling that D4L’s Shawty Lo has HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Every week, there’ s at least one email in my Inbox inquiring about Shawty Lo’s HIV status.

Shawty has admitted in interviews that he has Diabetes. It is also evident from photos that Shawty has a skin disorder like seborrhoeic dermatitis or Tinea Versicolor (a fungal infection that discolors the skin).

I reached out to Theda, Shawty’s publicist (ThedaDotCom) to clear the air and set the rumor mongers straight. “He definitely does NOT have AIDS!,” Theda said adamantly. Theda shared that Shawty is aware of the persistent rumors, but he prefers not to address the rumors directly because, according to Theda, “it won’t change anything. People are going to say what they want to say anyway.”

    It is none of anyone’s business if he does have HIV/AIDS besides the people who are intimate with him & his family. But on the real, he wouldn’t admit it if he does have it anyway.

    It’s a shame that whenever a black person goes to the hospital they must have AIDS.Who cares if if he does that his business. I never even listen to those types of rumors b/c I don’t want to be apart of spreading that something like that.AIDS ,racism and rape rumors you have to be very careful b/c when ppl catch wind of them it can be devestating to someones career.On the other hand if it’s caught on video ( R Kelly)you’re on your own!

    Time will tell. I’m sure that a lot of ppl we know have AIDS; they just aren’t showing signs yet. If the rate of HIV infection is so high, there must be a lot of black men and especially women walking around with it. I’m not convinced that Shawty Lo isn’t one of those ppl, but this time I really feel ldo ike “that’s his business”.

    Unless you plan on giving this man some why are you concerned? That’s my question to the people emailing you about his status Sandra. And, if you already gave him some (I hope you used protection) go get your butt tested!!!

    I can see the signs of the seborhetic Dermatitis on his hairline I have the exact same thing and I HATE IT! It’s basically adult cradle cap but it doesn’t go away you can treat it but it costs an arm and a leg to medicate it to make it containable.

    Don;t know who this man is and I don’t do partying like that no more but I wish him all the best and hope he doesn’t have HIV that’s a serious disease and not something to be playing around with.

    isn’t seborrhoeic dermatitis a symptom of HIV? I thought I read that somewhere. I may be mistaken. Either way it’s his business unless he’s out there having sex with out sharing his status with his partner(s)

    Bubbles says:

    Well his publicist is right. People will talk regardless of his diabetic/dermatitis disease. Nothing u can do about that.

    OOOOH, I thought I was up on all the artists. Guess not. I don’t have any idea who this guy is, but it looks like a little problem with his pigmentation in that area. I have seen people in my family with light blotches on their skin before. No big deal.

    shhhh says:

    There is a big difference between HIV and AIDS. The question is DOES HE HAVE HIV? She may be very well telling the truth about him not having AIDS.

    When there was a rumor that an H-Town rapper {clears throat to cough out Lil Flip} had HIV, Slim Thug went out and took a test to show the public, even though no one was calling names. If I had a rumor going around on me that I had HIV, that’s the first thing I would do. I would do it as a now and I’m not even in the industry.

    It wouldn’t surprise me if he did have it. There are so many people in the ATL that have that sh*t it’s not even funny. Even the surrounding towns/cities have it. And when you hear people talking about, they say “they be going up to Atlanta, bring that sh*t down here.”

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    It is kind of a big deal if allowed to go untreated for years. It could lead to permanent hair loss or other medical problems. In most cases it’s caused by fungal/yeast that eats away the top layer of skin leaving the lighter areas.
    Your doctor can prescribe a lotion like Selsun Blue (which you can buy over the counter).
    @shortstack74 ….. Just out of curiosity, i googled seborrhea and hiv and they do go hand in hand. The difference is people who have it because they have HIV have it on their back, armpits, and groin as well as their scalp. So FYI to anyone that may want to get it in with Shawty Lo, check his back and under his arms. And WEAR PROTECTION. THAT GOES FOR ANYONE YOU SLEEP WITH. We all need to get tested and know our status anyway.
    What’s the difference between that and tinea versicolor…? Lol.
  27. 27
    that is not pityriasis rosea
    My educated guess is Tinea Versicolor. Notice I said “educated” guess. :)
    Well to be honest, its no elses business but the person he’s bedding. That would be mess up if he does have the disease and having unprotected sex. In the end, it will eventually come out. Maybe, he need to do what Slim Thug did and send to Sandrarose he’s HIV results. Then all these spectulations can come to end.
    i have never in my life heard anything of this nature and I have seborhetic dermatitis and have had it since a child. What source did you find this from? Please educate a sista. I do not have HIV as I’ve been tested before. uptopgirl has a more clarified definition of it. None of of my dermatologist have ever said anything of the likes of this.
    @ Mrsdawsondn:
    I think she meant people with HIV/AIDS are more susceptible to SD. I know plenty of people with SD and they don’t have HIV.
