Video: The truth – what Rocko REALLY said on 106 & Park
You know, you have your hatahs and then you have your haters. The difference between the two is that haters hate on everything and everybody for no damn reason. Take for example this chick named Ryane W. who emailed me what she claimed was a transcript from Rocko Da Don‘s appearance on 106 & Park on Tuesday.
I created an entire post on what she claimed Rocko said on national TV about Monica – which was a lie. True enough, I could have simply Googled the truth, but I trusted this hater – which is something you never do.
Rayne claimed Rocsi asked Rocko, “What exactly is your relationship with Monica?” What Rocsi actually asked was how involved was Monica in Rocko’s rap career. It wasn’t a personal question. So Rocko didn’t go there. He simply shouted out Monica for her vocal contribution to his record, and he added, “She blessed me.”

I did a little bit more digging and I found that the quote Rayne attributed to Rocko actually came from a print interview Rocko did 2 weeks ago on BET.com. You can read that interview here.
As I said in an earlier post, some men find it difficult to express their true feelings about their woman in front of strangers – especially a dude who shouldn’t be asking those type of questions in the first place.
If you want proof of how Rocko really feels for Monica, read his Thank you’s on the liner of his CD. He says: “To the home team: Monica and my children, Malik, Lil Rock and Romelo. Y’all are all I have in this world!”
And in a recent interview on Mz Kitti’s show on XM Sattelite radio, Rocko gives Monica her props, saying, “As far as R&B singers… she got the best voice that I done heard… she got a very sexy voice.”

Well ain’t that some mess. I rescind my entire comment then. That explains why Rocko seemed inarticulate. To me his response didn’t match with the question and come to find out that wasn’t the damn question.
We all have to remember that you say over and over again that you are not a journalist and you mean it. A journalist wouldn’t take a source at his or her word on something that is easy to verify. A blogger can just post that stuff without a second thought and we all jump on it like it’s the truth.

I corrected her name in the post. It’s Ryane, not Rayne. She works for a cosmetics company that I won’t name. I don’t know what she does for that company. But she has way too much time on her hands.
I saw this earlier & the way Rocsi came out & asked him the question, I feel as though he answered it properly!! she asked him about getting advice from her about music & the song they did 2gether & thats when he gave her the shout out so maybe he ain’t so bad after all!! lol
I don’t really understand what the problem is. Rocko’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and I can believe that he’s a street n*gga in some form. As such, street dudes might not say everything the way a romantic woman would want to hear it. (Jay-Z doesn’t even say, “That’s my girl.”)
What Rocko said in the magazine interview and on BET is really enough. In the magazine interview, he said “the whole 9″. In ghetto speak that means, “We are together. I love her.” I’m not necessarily a fan of ghetto love, but it is what it is. I don’t know why ppl are trying to hold Rocko up to a higher standard that Monica holds him.

None of this foolishness would be an issue if these two would get married and legitimize their situation. Popping out two babies and living with a thug is not a good look. Honestly, I expected more from Monica. She was raised better than this and I hope the values she has been taught will kick in at some point — enough already. This is straight garbage.

So what Ryane got wrong was WHERE it was said…not WHAT was said. It’s still the same answer to the same question that got everybody angry in the first place.

Maybe they are comfortable in their situation. My aunt was with her husband for 20 years before they got married and they really only did it to make people happy. But they were more than happy before that anyway. Whatever makes them happy (and if it’s not marriage, then leave them be).
