He went to prison about 3 years ago for child support and served about 2 years or so. He was discharged last year. In this situation, I'm guessing here but his relationships with the mothers (count them 1, 2 & 3) must be non-existent; like no communicating. I say this to point out that single moms that I know have always tried to work with the father (when they are no longer in a relationship). It's only when the father doesn't step up, doesn't return phone calls and literally can’t be found is when they take it to the courts. Single mothers that I know will always try to keep it out the courts; the courts are the last straw for them. Because that man didn’t make that baby by himself. I couldn’t be a family court judge because my first question to the mom would be, “were you raped?” Then I would order that both parents pay child support to care for the child that they both made together.

Only if it was that easy, but that’s not the case because in most situations the woman ends up being the full time care giver..There are some great dads who continue to stay in their childs life and do their part but not very many…I personally feel that being their physically, & emotionally does a hell of a lot more for a kid than putting a check in the mail…Child support isn’t saying that the man is carrying the full financial responsibility it’s just saying do your part.
