Police: Carmelo’s baby mama refused to pick him up!

As some of you know, Carmelo Anthony is in hot water with his baby mama due to his infidelity. It seems La La has caught Carmelo creeping more than once – with the same chick.
Women don’t mind when their rich and powerful husbands spread it around a little – as long as hubby doesn’t start catching feelings for that other woman. That’s when wifey speed dials the divorce lawyer and yells “HALF!!”
Speaking of lawyers, the other woman has already sent out a bogus cease & desist order threatening a nasty lawsuit if her name is connected to this sordid mess.
According to TMZ.com, when Denver police busted Carmelo for drunk driving early yesterday, his baby mama, La La refused to come and pick him up from the police station! Additionally, certain members of the Denver police squad are under investigation for driving Carmelo home instead of to detox.
Another cop drove Melo’s tight customized $130,000 Benzo to a secured police lot instead of to the impound lot where it surely would have been vandalized.
A police spokesperson says the officer went “above and beyond through a personal relationship” and there wasn’t “anything wrong” with what he did. (Source)

What is up with women thinking that being a baby’s momma entitles them to fidelity? I could be wrong, but didn’t LaLa only become a fiance after she got pregnant? That should be a red flag to any woman. There is an order to things and I believe we all learned it in a children’s nursery rhyme. First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby. You can’t expect any miracles from these men if they marry you so you darn sure shouldn’t expect any when you’re JUST a baby momma.
I used 2 crush on him bigtime but after I say that video of him hitting that dude and running I lost ALL respect for him…that was pathetic…

Its just sad that females are encouraged to “hold their men down and be there through thick and thin” and they cheat, lie etc. The point I wanted to make is that its worse (cheating, deceitful behavior, etc.)when kids are involved. I think she had every right to not go get him and if he is cheating and has been then she may want to re evaluate procreating with him in the future. A marriage means what if a person is a cheater? I would hope that he doesn’t think of his son as an accessory … that’s awful if he does. Children are placed here for a reason and whether he marries Lala or not they are living as a family. Even if he cheated prior to the child once the baby was born it should have changed something … usually it does in most cases, but apparently not all.
@ miamore73 – I agree w/ you on the other woman. I guess from her point of view what she is doing with him has nothing to do with the DUI — which is somethign all these celeberties need to do better with and on.
Also … I personally don’t think a ring and a marraige license determine the level of respect or commitment that should be exhibited. Men cheat and lie this is the bottom line, when you are living as a fmaily I feel that your actions need to be different married or not. No one is commenitng on how the police treated him w/ extra care in making sure his car was taken care of or the fact that they made sure he made it home.

I thought they were engaged and baby mama or not – I am glad she didn’t go and pick him up. He shouldn’t be drinking and driving anyway which is the bigger issue in the picture.

@ iyonah…babies don’t make men change, if anything all hell really breaks loose after the child is born. I believe that you should marry before having a kid (unfortunately that is not the case in many situations) and lastly women need to wake up period.
If he is doing him…then babies nor marriage is going to change anything. A man has to want it for himself…I mean usually there is some point in a man’s life when he makes the decision to want to settle down. No one can force the issue…and unfortunately Lala is learning the hard way as someone stated in a previous post. She had no business moving into that man’s house and settling down with him before actually settling down (ya’ll feel what I’m saying???).
Its all fun and games for the 1st year or 2 max…but after that the “honeymoon” is over. Instead of rushing love…take time to learn each other and time reveals all. All I’m saying is don’t put yourself into a foolish situation by just thinking with your heart…use your head ladies.

It’s not funny, but she bought it on herself. Marriage doesn’t guarantee that he won’t cheat, but leaving him before you get married THEN have the kids give you a better chance of being able to walk away with no strings attached… And who knows, maybe he told her that he wanted to have a child—-but she still knew what she was working with before they made that beautiful baby (He is definitely the cutest!!!)

I think in some cases children do make men change … for the record I am in no way saying woman should have them to change a man. I think its a natural thing to change once you have a child … at least its what I have seen in many people. The how and when or why you change is to the persons’ sole discretion. Some people really value the gift of life and the responsibility of bearing child and raising a child … some don’t. I don’t think this is a ? of whether or not he is changed – its obvious he hasn’t if he has been cheating all along and continues even though she is w/ child. Really though N*ggaz are fools, they can have a good thing and still not want to settle down. Truthfully the whole order of everything is messed up….before we started willingly giving it up we had no choice we were married off to old aZZ with land and a farm. We were getting married with no problem at the early ages of 12 and up, or getting raped because men couldn’t wait to have sex. Men are the same today, how can we expect them to be any different, the only difference we’re not holding back or being force to marry some wrinkled up geezer with money. Now we’re being put in situations where we have to wait on a man to settle down with us….its like which life would you prefer??? I would have picked him up but it would have cost him. He would have not been in the bed with me and I would not have said two words to him. The things is to act a fool you have to make a move on to keep him and put up with his **** or pack your bags and move on. Why scream and yell and not do anything to correct the problem. Firstly, I have heard the RUMOR that Melo does his thing on the side…however LaLa & Melo were engaged way before the baby came along(a little google research will show that). Secondly LaLa is way older that Melo by like 6 or 7 years, I’m sure she could have married him a long time ago, but she chose not too, if you remember correctly LaLa was married for a short stint right before she hooked up with Melo, so she probably wasn’t in a rush to re-marry so soon.. & for the record Melo seemed to be on her nut sack in the beginning from what I saw, so I don’t see why people sweating her, he was the one pressed. LaLa has a career, a college DEGREE, and friends in high places…LUDA is like one of her best friends so I think she will be alright with or without the nicca, she don’t seem like the type to go for the B.S. so I’m sure peoples just hating tryna blow this whole thing outta proportion.
