Celeb Style: Fashion Fabulosity

Yesterday I posted the fashion flops from the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY on Monday. Today I decided to post my picks for the most beautiful gowns of the evening. It was very difficult to find beautiful dresses out of all those those horrible gowns from that night. People don’t use mirrors in New York?
Celebrities should stop letting “stylists” (mostly drunks and meth addicts) dictate their style and just go with what they know.
Anyway, My top pick for the most beautiful gown of the evening is Victoria “Posh” Beckham‘s house coat. This is what I love about Posh – she can wear anything and still be styled to the nines! WALK b*tch!

Beyoncé‘s elegant pink strapless evening gown designed by Giorgio Armani gets my nod for 2nd most beautiful dress at the costume gala even – though I’m not a fan of strapless dresses. The dress did all the work. Beyoncé just wore it.

Third place goes to this ice white floor length low-cut back gown with silver embroidery from the Fall 2008 Versace line worn by Janet Jackson. Yes, I know I said something different yesterday but that’s because I saw the dress from the wrong angle. Now I can say that this is indeed a very beautiful dress! Nice!

Model Liya Kebede is a standout in this beautiful basic black evening gown with velvet accents designed by Jonathan Saunders. Nice!

If you want to know what to wear to a special occasion, ask a gay man. He will never leave you out there looking stupid. 4th place goes to tennis superstar Venus Williams who was a vision of femininity and grace in this mocha taffeta Carolina Herrera design with Andre Leon Talley‘s Superman cape as a nice added touch!

Unlike Kimora, actress Joy Bryant pulled off the comic book theme of the evening in this turtle neck dress designed by Pucci. As a former art student, I can appreciate the juxtaposition of the geometric shapes with the curving lines of this dress. No one else could have pulled off this look. Imagine what Beyoncé would look like in this dress.
I must admit I did chuckle when I saw this green crush velvet dress worn by Zoe Kravitz. But then I saw her vision and the message she wanted this dress to convey: that she doesn’t give a damn what none of y’all think about her! Lol.

Yeah I’m only feeling Janet and Joi Bryant’s dress the rest did nothing for me and I’m a fashion major.
Beyonce’s dress is very nice, but it reminds me of a prom dress… I didnt even know that was Victoria Beckham. I thought it was Maryann from Cybil… I’m still stickin by Kimora. Her dress did exactly what it was supposed to do, turn heads and get ppl to talkin about her.
Janet’s dress is the best in my opinion. She looks amazing! Joy Bryant didn’t pull anything off sandra..lol. She looks worst than Kimora..sorry.
Liya’s is my #1 pick that dress is tailored to a T, then Venus #2, the color and texture really softens her. The rest of the dresses I do not like and I don’t see as flattering to the figures of the ladies wearing them. But, those are just perspectives from my viewpoint and taste.
Love the way Posh looks – I usually don’t – she is super-stylish. Janet is wearing that dress – the detail in the back really makes it stand out. Beyonce’s dress is pretty, but her hair throws off her look.
Vic Beck looks a hot mess, she needs 2400 Ham sandwhiches!LOL, its about time Venus look femine! the best dress should go to Eva Longeria for best hair should go JLO. And Zoe NO COMMENT

Joy Bryant looks a mess! Like she put on the dress but forgot to comb her hair or put her make-up on! Plus she looks like she is hemmed up and tortured in that thing!
And when did it become fashionable to WEAR the red carpet? lol
Beyonce looked boring, she didn’t glam her self as she normally does. I didnt think Janet’s dress was all that either until I saw the back. That ish looks hot ! I didnt see a pic posted of Eva Longoria, but she was the best dressed to me that evening

Took the words right out of my mouth, I don’t know what the hell Sandra is thinking. Liya Kebede is the ONLY exception, but her’s is so…uhhh BLAND but not horrilbe. This was a themed event, and most of these get-ups were way “what the F”.
Beyonce, the norm. Nothing that wow’s me.

Oh…I forget about the “BEST Dressed”. Sandra, how are you going to name the girl best dress but insult her garment by calling it a house coat (which it is)? Any thing looking like a damn house coat is something that can NOT be made into an elegant dress….. So 1980’s, reminds me of Dynasty, ewwww!

Beck jacket dress & shoes are cute. She need to gain a little but her legs look flawless (go girl)! Janet’s dress is amazing. I like the sexy yet elegant look. The pony is not working for me. Although cute, it sort of take away from the elegance of the dress. This is the first time I’ve actually seen Venus with a cute and elegant look. Usually her look appears a little cheap and tossed together to me. Her hair style is cute & really fits her. Is it just me, or does she always have this look of not being completely happy in the lime light? Zoe’s face (despite the foundation) looks pretty and refreshed but please go sit down with this style. She’s killing me. Not a fan of Bey’s look at all. Looks like she rushed her look to attend the event.

Zoe and Joy’s dresses are the FOOL! Kimora’ sdress (not pictures) was amazing, and Beyonce fabulous as usual.

I absolutely love V. Beckham’s dress and Janet’s dress. MAJAH!! However, Beyonce’s dress reminds me of Easter Sunday and that lace front is not the busniess! Some of the caucasian ladies also looked very nice at the ball.
