Solange and Bey: Sisters make history in Tokyo

Solange and Beyonce appeared on a billboard overlooking a fashion district in Tokyo today. The sisters have been promoting the summer 2008 line of hot-pink handbags for Japanese fashion firm Samantha Thavasa.

Solange and Bey made history by becoming the first black celebs ever to star in a campaign for the Tokyo company.

Samantha Thavasa has a long history of using Western celebs in their campaigns. Previous stars used to promote the trendy bags include Victoria Beckham, Penelope Cruz and Nicky Hilton.

    Oh, I like Solange and I envy her spot forreal forreal, but we all know she wouldn't be on that Billboard without Mrs. Knowles Carter.

    To me, a "perk" is landing a paid photoshoot because your sister is superfamous. "Work" is falling face first down a flight of stairs while singing "Ring the Alarm" for the 50th time.

Ashley Simpson is another example. I could go on and on. That's what happens in Hollywood. Although, I do think solange will have a successful album coming out soon. The music sounds really good. Maybe she'll be able to get the negative people off her back.

    Uh Bubblez, I dont think anyone was "hating." Just stating facts and opinions. The billboard is nice, the bags are cute (I can do without the pink one though) & the ladies look really good. I'm just wondering when Solange will give up those Khia-like eyebrows & that matted weave

    Then how would you categorize Getting pregnant as a teenager and a Shame marriage which later led to divorce... Just asking and for the record, I'm not losing any sleep over the Knowles Family Entertainment Enterprise and their money-making moves (That's their life not mine) ;-)
