Update: Judge rules reporter will not have to testify
The judge presiding over the R. Kelly trial has decided Sun-Times reporter and music critic Jim DeRogatis does not have to testify after all.
Judge Gaughan ruled Friday that DeRogatis had no protection against testifying under either the First Amendment or the Illinois reporter’s privilege. He reaffirmed that decision Tuesday when DeRogatis failed to show up in court, saying that DeRogatis must testify because the reporter’s privilege only protects journalists from revealing their sources.
But this morning the judge ruled that DeRogatis was protected against self-incrimination under the Fifth Amendment. “He does not have to testify,” the judge said.
Meanwhile, two Kansas City men are on their way to Chicago with what they say will be “devastating revelations” about the alleged three-way tape. READ MORE…

The victim probably was a willing participant, but she was too young to make adult decisions like drive a car, balance a checkbook or vote—surely she shouldn’t be entrusted with making a decision like playing housewith a grown rusty man, she was only 13.
Children are able to pick up a lot of things and judging by past comments of HER performance in the video (I haven’t seen it, nor do I want to see it) it seems like he or somone else taught her how to do adult things. She’s a double victim. Once by her perp and again by us not considering her lack of mental capacity to make that decision.
Again, another one will probably go free. This is a funky-wank mess!

No one has “clean hands” in this case…It was wrong for Kells to put such a young girl in that position - I agree - even if she “thought” she was grown enough to do grown folks business. But all the crap that came afterward, the extortion, suits, payoffs, guns, arrests….it’s all too much.
As popular as Kells was/is, he couldn’t have gotten a couple of hot 25 year olds? Why teenagers?

The reason it’s so involved is because this isn’t a Simple-case to prosecute… Kelly didn’t get these teenage-girls by himself w/o anybody’s knowledge or assistance. He Needed ALOT of F–king-Help to help Con-These-Hot-Girls!!!

Sorry wrong again, they tried to extort money from Kells at least twice. They made physical threats. These things were not done because of the knowledge of some tape. This is about money, contracts, people that want to drive nice cars and be “like the Jones”. They used Sparkle as the front person because one of them stated publicly along time ago “Sparkle, she’s a stupid B, she will do anything for money. This people that were so concerned and felt like they were doing the right thing, originally wanted money and record deals. There is money behind this entire thing. This is not the doings of some ordinary Joe, they just used some other people as fronts. That person is watching this like a comedy show. That person has enough money to make movies, albums, etc. Some of the actors of this play won’t get their final check unless Kells goes down.
With the latest being that a few family members (3 or 4) of the girl in question are saying “that’s not her” along with the girl herself who is saying “that’s not me” I believe Kelly is going to be acquitted. Also, the chick who spoke about the 3 way is being accused of having her boyfriend approach Kelly for $300,000 to not saying anything. I don’t see a jury convicting him because there is too much he say/she say and then the witnesses for the prosecution have severe credibility issues. I mean the defense did a good job and the circumstantial evidence was powerful but with these family members/ the girl in question and the dark video, I don’t see him getting convicted; maybe a mistrial. If I were on the jury, I would most likely say “not guilty”; not because I didn’t believe he did the act but because we are talking about a man’s life and it’s one thing to be on a blog saying what you would do verses actually being a juror who has the fate of this man’s life in your hands with shaky evidence. For me, I would need the girl to say “yes, it’s me.” Or I would need her parents to say, “yes, that is our child.” But when you have the girl saying “no” with some family members saying “no” and some family members saying “yes”, with shady witnesses and a dark video I personally would not be able to convict. I mean, the judicial system is flawed but it’s what we have and for it to maintain some integrity, you can’t convict someone on your gut; strong evidence has to support it. Why? Because you or I could be sitting in a cell for something we did not do (like some already are) but because someone had a “gut” feeling, we are locked up.
well i saw the tape and is ass is guilty regarldess of what people are saying about the trial being he say she say the jury saw the tape when the trial first started and you can see his ass on the tape you can see his soul train award on his desk and the fools answer when somebody calls out for him and i am sorry that is that girl on that tape and her parents need they ass kicked for not saying it is not her it is too many people that has testified that it is her and him on the tape. the chick who had the threesome may have tried to get money out of the perv for his silence I don’t care about that, that just proves that there is something for her to be slient about he bought back the tape from her that she had of them so if he is buying back tapes to me that says right there that fool is guilty. It so many people saying it ain’t him and they have not even saw the tape, so i don’t see how they can even comment on this. I have a young daughter and i Take this shyt personal if that was my daughter I would be in jail cause i would have murdered that mf. If he gets off it just shows how ****ed the world we live in is.

Like I said, if you knew what was really going on here, most people would never read, listen to music or watch another movie again. You would be surprised what can be created with technology. The person nehind this has enough money to see serious damage done and is willing to spend it to make it happen. That person speaks frequently of the ignorance or men and women and how the public can be easily lead by photos and film. Like I said they are LAOF
