Solange performed on MTV’s TRL show yesterday. I’m not going to say one word about Solange’s tutu. Normally I would have a lot to say. But Solange went from being the worst singer of any decade to making music that even I can listen to. So for that she gets my utmost respect. She can’t help it who her sister is.
WHAT, ME, WORRY?
Jermaine Dupri attended a birthday party in the meatpacking district in NYC two nights ago. Jermaine is said to be “furious” at producer and fellow spinmaster Greg Street for disputing his claim that the DJ is dead. Jermaine’s own DJ - the legendary DJ Nabs - sent out an email blast to the industry yesterday. Nabs said, in part: “What is also obvious to me is that JD made the comment to spark controversy amongst the DJ community to reexamine what it is we do. And Greg Street responded publicly in order to garner attention for his forthcoming album.”
This is the man who ruined Janet Jackson’s career. Well, him and Jermaine Dupri after JD put Janet on Pliers “Bus it Baby” remix. Once that remix came out, tickets sales for Janet’s world tour faded faster than Ludacris’ hairline, forcing Janet to cancel the European leg of her World Tour.
They say singer/songwriter Ne-Yo is Andre Leon Talley’s newest client. Ne-Yo joins a stellar client list which includes Jay Z, Usher, Sean Combs, Tyler Perry and Anderson Cooper.
Some of may be too young to remember when concert goers (both male and female) threw their undies at sexy boudoir singer Alexander O’Neal. Many of you were conceived while your parents listened to his sultry ballads. Time and age has eroded much of the charming good looks that drew women (and men) to Alexander O’Neal. But we still have the memories.

I think Janet’s career has been over along time ago. Granted, she has made her mark in the music industry but some people don’t know when to hang it up. Please should have given music up after “Demita Jo” or whatever that horrible album was. As for Bust it baby, I didn’t like it but it grew on me and it’s getting lots of play on the airwaves so I guess NeYo did something right.
Sandra … Plies is not the reason for anythign involving Janet. If you ask me some people in the industry are nto meant to mix their personal life with there professional. If she had a team other than JD she wouldn’t have to albums that were lackluster.
Solange is slowy moving into her own lane. Love love love Neyo - not to sure about that scarf … its a look that I think is overused/abused.

My boyfriend laughs at me when I said I had a secret crush on Plies (I really dont go for the “goon” type. I like my men clean with clean records)… I just couldnt figure out why I liked him but then I found out he can hold a decent conversation & he has a degree in English… A woman can never hate an educated man who can whoop somebody’s ass!!! on my moms side of the family the women dont age. my great aunts who died in their 80’s had no wrinkles just those laugh lines. my grand mother who died at 78 had no wrinkles. people thought she was my mother and in her 50’s. my mother whos is also in her mid 70’s has no wrinkles and people think shes in her 50’s. my dad side of the family doesnt get grey they dont dye their hair. my great uncle was pushing 90 had only a few grey hairs even my father who past in his 60’s had very few grey hairs. so im do to have no wrinkles n grey hair. lol

The thugs in the hood that I knew were the ones on the honor roll. It was their their desire to be “fresh” that overshadowed being successful so they dropped out & began dealing. Representing (or rather disgracing) the city of Fort Myers, he is well known for his tough-guy talk, no actions to prove bull**** lyrics, along with girl rap type tracks such as “Hypnotize,” and a bunch of other garbage like that featuring “singers” such as T-Pain and Akon. A 31-year-old rookie rapper with just 1 release under his belt which consists of some of the worst lyricism in history, is filled tracks about him talking about how hard he is and how much pussy he supposedly gets, Plies commands little or no respect at all in his hometown of Fort Myers and throughout the rest of Lee county. Though Plies swears he is the “realest nigga,” during the time he claims to have been doing dirt all he really was doing was attending college, working at the YMCA, and racking up traffic citations (the only marks on his criminal record along with the publicity stunt nightclub bull**** in which 5 innocents were injured because his young stupid clique randomly fired shots at a crowd of 20 year old girls). He is well known for not showing up for his scheduled concerts, and if he infact does show, it is 10 minutes before the club shuts down and he comes in stumbling drunk, sluring his already horrific lyrics. Plies was recently scared off stage at an Orlando area nightclub by fellow Florida rapper Trick Daddy. It is said that Plies ran through a crowd of people and out the front door of the club as Trick Daddy chased him down ready to beat his ass for being such a flaw little cunt. Soon after, Trick Daddy was assaulted by club bouncers and it has been falsely rumored that Plies was the one who had assaulted Trick. However, these rumors have been laid to rest after the fact Plies did not show for a concert the very next day where he and Trick Daddy were both scheduled to perform. The only people who listen to Plies “music” are stupid young gitterbugs, 15 year old girls with half a brain, and wanna be gangsta pussy boys. His name Plies comes from the words Pussy and Lies…Pussy + Lies = Plies.

You are so right … .I just listened to it. And I can barely make out what she is saying. Some people really still love her though. I was never a HUGE fan …. I respect what she has accomplished though. People can talk about her all they want now, but history speaks. Maybe a career in film would be more just 4 her right now.

I love me some Plies for real. I feel he raps about the stuff that people wanna say but don’t say it. I am from Bed-Stuy and I know what a Bust it Baby is. I think everyone knows what it is. They might not have been one but you have come in contact with one. There are a lot of smart thugs in the streets I don’t think you would want to be a dum thug in the streets make no sense. I grew up around thugs and they taught me to do better and to be smart but don’t be no fool to these streets. You gotta have book smarts and street smarts to survive.
I agree with Sandra when she stated that JD messed up Janets career. I never heard that Plies remix so I can’t comment on that. As far as the Europe tour I read that her label didn’t want her to tour over there, which is kind of crazy because she has a bigger fan base in Europe than she does in the US. In my opinion she should have stayed with Virgin.
Unfortunately, JD does not have his girlfriend Janet’s best interests at heart, it seems. The songs that he has given her or put her on…he doesn’t know what to do with an ICON such as she. Sad. And she’s going along with it. Even more sad.
