So far I’ve managed to avoid the ridiculous public beef between Ice T’s grown ass vs. Soulja Boy’s silly ass - I think both parties are wrong, but especially the OG Ice T. A grown man of 50 arguing with a young silly boy is never a good look.
But something happened this weekend to make me focus on the subject of their public feuding.
I’m in Ice T’s age bracket. I grew up listening to Ice T’s music (if that’s what you want to call it) His music was garbage back then just as Soulja Boy’s music is garbage now. It isn’t about music as much as it is about a lack of respect. R-e-s-p-e-c-t is not in anyone’s vocabulary these days. Respect is a lost art along with pride, creativity and tradition in our community. Hip Hop killed all that.
This past Saturday (6/21) I walked into the Athlete’s Foot on Lee Street (in the West End) looking for a pair of black slides. The young girl who waited on me couldn’t have been older than 21. She was dark skinned. She stood about 5 feet tall and wore her hair ghetto-pocahantas style with two braids extending back attached to long extensions (I’m describing her for a reason).
Her body language and lackadaisical attitude indicated that she didn’t want to be there that day. She was not helpful at all. She wasn’t familiar with the store’s inventory: when I asked her if she had any other style of slides in the store, her answer was no. But when I pointed out the other styles of slides on a display right next to her, she just stood there like a stone statue.
So I tried on a pair of the display slides that she said didn’t exist. When I slid my foot out of the slide and turned to walk away, the stone statue suddenly came to life. In a high-pitched condescending voice, she said, “SO YOU GONNA MAKE ME BEND DOWN AND PICK THAT UP OFF THE FLOOR?”
My initial shocked reaction was to laugh out loud. Then anger quickly replaced my shock and I said, “ISN’T THAT YOUR JOB? You want ME to pick that up and hand it to YOU?!” Realizing she was standing in the path of an approaching storm, she ducked down and in one smooth motion, snatched up the shoe and turned to run. I yelled after her, “You better hope you live to be my age with that attitude!”
The other customers stood in stunned silence.
Granted, I was wrong to scream on the little girl, but is that how the Athlete’s Foot on Lee Street in the West End train their sales staff to disrespect their older customers?
So on the subject of who’s right or who’s wrong, I can’t side with either Ice T or Soulja Boy. Our community as a whole is totally f*cked up. We all need to show a little more respect towards each other before Aretha Franklin is gone and it’s too late.
Oh, I ended getting my Adidas slides at the Foot Locker in the West End Mall where I’m always treated with courtesy and respect.

I saw this yesterday…. He cant be serious. I mean, a grown man coming out over the internet to yell at a 16 year old? Look, Im not a SB fan….Im not jumping around crazy doing his little dance or screamin YYYaaaaHHHH BBIIITTTCCC**** YYYAAAAHHHH in nobody’s face but, he is a kid doing kid’s music…. Am I glad that my daughter is only 2 and I dont have to hear her bumping that silly stuff? Hell YES! but, he is a kid so, what more do we expect from him? Ice needs to step to someone his own age or who is grown enough to step to him without parental supervision or better yet, someone who is in his current profession; Wife Pimping.
Come on Sandra, I know you don’t expect quality customer service when shopping at the West End!
I would have called management quick, following up with a letter. Im not gonna argue with anyone now, either show me respect or Im complaining to the hire ups. May take more time BUT almost 90% of the time I end up with something free.
Its true… But I think Soulja Boi should’ve kept his mouth shut. Ice T has longevity that he will never have. Take the advice, make some real music and we can all move on.
About u, Ms. Sandra…. U’re much better than me. I probably would have kicked baby girl in the head or asked for the number to corporate. I do not take being disrespected very well.
I remember I was in foot locker & I heard a spanish employee say (on his cell phone, while ringing ppl up), “tell that ni99a to bring my effin food now.” I politely put the shoe down & walked out. He asked why was I leaving, I said I dont shop where ni99as roam….
Everybody needs to just go sit the hell down somewhere.
Ditto, Sandra! U were not wrong for giving that chick the business. I am probably half your age and am saddened by these lil chickenheads and wannabe thugs.
Oh yeah @ Mochamommy, I am good for calling corporate. I send emails, certified mail and contact via landline. Girl I don’t play because many in the service industry think they can talk and treat yound black consumers anyway. The sad part is it is done by young black individuals.
She should have been blasted on since it is here job.
Ice - T should have kept his mouth shut about someone that is making every child and grown ass person who thinkt hey are a child shake their ass!!!!
I am with team Ice T…hip hop today is garbage…I can’t say I really cared for Ice T’s music back in the day..but as Ice T would tell it..he is and will always be a PIMP…all this SOULJA BOY is….IS a FOOL!!…his music is hateful towards girls…I say girls because real women are not going to let a BOY address them the way he does in his so called music…
^^total cosign. I was in Target the other day and a lil heffa tried to get all ghetto on me when I my receipt thank you! I pitched a fit and called management; they made it right. Sandra you did the right thing by schooling that ig’nant hoodrat HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE!
cosigning with Ms. Miami
and meant to say I HAD my receipt thank you!!
I’m sorry… Soulja boy does not make music for children. The day my child or any other child tells me “Yah bi+ch yah get out my face” is the day yall read about me on SandraRose. The headline would be “Woman beats the **** outta kid for disrespecting her”
Sandra, you definitely should have complained to managment. I find that a letter is the best way to handle this situation. As far as the Ice T vs Soulja Boy situation, Soulja Boy did not single handedly ruin hip hop. It has been on a decline for a while (think back to when you all were “shaking that laffy taffy”. Soulja Boy makes music for a younger audience and for those who for whatever reason are refusing to give up their youth. Ice T hasn’t been that great of a role model either. Isn’t this the same person who was on that HBO special Pimps up hoes down?
Absolutely, he doesn’t make music for children…
Now…if someone knows better…Please tell…because I did here this from some of my daughter’s friends; The superman song is speaking about this boy cuming on the back of a girl and the sheets getting stuck to her back?…..is that correct? Real Question
Oh my I was so waiting on this subject to be addressed. First of all Ice-T was wrong for telling a little boy to eat a dick. Soulja boy and his music is for kids not for any of us over the age of 25 and where is his mother that he is on you tube cursing like a sailor. Soulja boy needs to realize his music is for kids and stop responding to adults. As far as Sandra’s situation I am so sick of these heffas not understanding customer service. I would have walked out also. My mother always says she is going to open up a manners school for these ignorant kids.
@ GGouch, yes thats what the song is about. Please tell me how that is for children? Just because he’s 17 doesnt mean he’s making music for children’s ears.”Yah b!tch yah” is a perfect example of children not showing any respect.
Then again, I dont know why people expect children to have respect for their elders when they’re not taught that. They can listen to and say what they wanna say without any consequences. There was a time I couldnt be in the same room with adults, let alone respond to their comments or listen to Richard Pryor’s record.
Now children can say what they want and its called “having their own minds.” I didnt get my own mind til I had a diploma/degree and my own place
When I say kids I mean his age group. 16,17,18. I know we all remember listening to H-Town knocking the boots at that age. I am 28 so to me they are kids. Not the babies under 16.
@Shunda,
I understand what u’re saying, but I wasnt brave enough to sing “Knockin Bootz” in front of my mom (i think i was like 10 or 11 when it came out)… However I would sing “Creep” by TLC because it was a very subtle message. I didnt really understand what they were singing about. “SupaMan that ho” is a little too much to excuse my child from. I have one time to hear my child (at any age) say supaman that ho and i’m gonna wonder-woman his ass

~~~that is exactly what that nasty a** song is about…i hate that they continuously play the sh*t on the radio~~
~~~some ghetto dusty a** little girl decided to push my daughter’s head in the locker at school. as i was walking my daughter to her locker a little boy yells out to my baby ” ah..hah..that’s why you got your a** kicked”!!! i was first shocked…then that turned into anger…i told his f*t a** don’t he ever speak to her again in that manner…and that i fight f*cking kids!!!! needless to say that’s not what i should have said but, it had to be said~~~little b*stards!!!

Last time I checked…with the exception of “Legalities of age 18″ those ages still represent children. But these kids don’t listen to lyrics…they listen to beats and they repeat the phrase that is most repetitive…..Example: “I need a ganster ****” “There some hoes in his house” got the spot krunk…but when stopped to let the words sink in…how did you really feel abotu shaking your azz to it.
MOCHAMOMMY Says:

LOL @ mochaMOMMY!!!!!!!
But I understand totally what Sandra is saying.
I went to Mcdonalds to order some fries…just fries only and the girl at the drive thru had a massive attitude like she didnt feel like talkin. WELL HELLO, it is called a DRIVE THRU!! so when i got to the window and snatched that bag from her hands, i said “ARE YOU HAVING A BAD DAY?” and she just looked and had nothin to say.
Kids these days don’t have any home training they are basically raising themselves in the microwave society we live in. I could not even dare say something of the things these children say whether my parents were around or not they instilled such fear in me that I behaved even if they were not watching.
Sandra I applaud what you did because my response and actions would of have been totally different trust that…
I’m no soulja boy fan, but you can’t possibly respect someone telling you to “Eat A Di*k”..And who in the hell can Ice-T talk about when he’s running around with a plastic, prostitute barbie pimping a woman who’s suppose to be his wife, what kind of example is he setting for young hip-hop, played out wanna be gangster..He’s trying to put someone in check when when his sh*t is messed up..Ice-T is just another modern day coon.
And as far as Soulja Boy goes, he’s a kid you can’t expect too much intellect from a immature child, he mad a stupid dance song for young people, hell what else can he write about at that age..In all honesty Ice-T is part of the bad influence in hip-hop, these no talent fools wrinting a bumch of degrading lyrics about women and violence is also killing rap music, a trend that Ice-T help create.
i don’t understand what relevance describing her played at all. especially the dark skin comment and for some strange reason, i would really like to know. when you said she was young and lazy - that was enough. but to know that she was dark - aids in what way to further describe her behavior? please please please let me know……somebody
Sandra ,
You have got to be kidding me , I have noticed that these days the kids in the stores that don’t want to be at work, if you don’t want to be at work then leave, go home or find something else to do . Don’t subject me to that nonsense , you did exactly right !!!! Checking the sh*! out of her , and reminding her that is her JOB !!!!

SandraRose don’t like dark people.
It’s all coming out now….
And as far as these kids being rude goes…. I can remember being a cashier in highschool. At ANY given moment I would go off on a customer at the slightest whim. I was young and stupid and invincible. You mean to tell me that y’all worked as teenagers - you were polite and efficient and gave great customer service — like an adult???? Really?
While both stories have to do with respect they are so different. Soulja boy did not do, say anything to Ice.
Had you been walking by minding your business and she yelled… YOU GOING TO JUST WALK BY THAT SHOE! EAT A DICK! Then I would say it was similar.
I don’t know what’s wrong with Ice Tea. Is he jealous because his son isn’t making the young kids dance. Or is his hoe wife tips getting too small to make ends meet… damn gas prices effecting everybody.
I know at 13 and 14, you couldnt stop me from listening to NWA…. f the cops and all that…. so, …. i mean, ive grown from that of course and it was all very childish now that i think about it… i can only hope that these kids have someone to talk to them straight about their music like my dad did me. ice-t needs to be addressing adults … not children. address his parents if you’ve got something to say.
@ Smokie…I can remember being a teenager working and being polite with customers because that was what I was taught to do. Even now being a working adult, I try to remember that having a nasty attitude for no reason is not necessary at work. And as a customer, I dont have anything to do with why you woke up this morning or left your house with an attitude. Sometimes it pays to check that at the door.
What I really don’t understand is why did it take this incident to post the Ice tea drama? Put your personal feelings aside and post stories that people can read and comment on. Yes your name is on the site but its the readers that keep it alive.
I also felt Soulja boy response was mature (for his age).
SHE DID KNOW SHE WAS MESSING WITH SANDRA ROSE!!!! shidddd she better get some act right before that shoe “slide” in her ass…….. or like my grandma would say… You keep it up and you gonna be the only motherfu*** walking around with 3 shoes.. 2 on your feet and one in ya ass!!
Sandra, you are 100% correct in this and it does not have too much to do with when one was raised but rather how… And what’s been jacked up as of the past 15-20 years is we now have wayyyy too many homes without intact families in them. Once you start to tamper with the intended way God had for us to raise families (Father & Mother together) you start to see the very fabric of families deteriorate. We are now fully in the midst of this as a people. So you see many young folk coming out of “families” where not common courtesy or respect is taught or DEMANDED. Then they get into the real world and experience culture shock when their employer or others demand it of them.
Just look at how many males done checked out of life and would rather live off up under some woman rather than going out and toughing it out on some job the way our Fathers did. It’s all about how they are raised…

My sister has one of those men. He was raised in a single family home & enjoys lettin my sister pay the bills. I cant say he’s at fault, cuz her dumb ass allows it. And we were not raised like that at all.
I still feel like Soulja boy shoulda kept his mouth closed though. I came from an era if an elder told u to eat a d*ck, u smiled & said “yes ma’am/sir” & kept it moving.
These young kids don’t have a lot of respect these days, and it’s b/c of their ghetto upbringing. I think you were a bit overkill with your comment, but you were definitely on the right track. The Ice-T/Soulja boy thing is something that really confuses me. How are you going to blame a child for single handedly destroying hip hop. It sounds like he is trying to remain relevant, and that in its self is is sad.
Its true… But I think Soulja Boi should’ve kept his mouth shut. Ice T has longevity that he will never have. Take the advice, make some real music and we can all move on.

longevity in what? Hopefully you are not talking about music wise. Ice T has NEVER been relevant and his rhymes and S.B’s are one in the same..
How can someone who never made real or quality music call out the next person thats seeing success they never saw? Ice T is the last person to call somebody garbage..
He sucked then and he sucks now. and im not even a sb fan!

Thank you for making me spit my drink all over my desk - that had me laughing TOO hard!
Like Sandra said, there is just overall disrespect across the board. Just recently, two Christian music producers were killed in the Dallas area - the killers (both black young males) got $2 in cash for taking two lives.
During a jailhouse interview, one of them said he had no remorse, that somebody was going to die by his own intentions and to “f**k ‘em” when the reporter asked if he had anything to say to the victims’ families.
That is an extreme example, but there is no respect for elders, life, etc… across the board by some folks.
Sandra, glad you got your slides!
While I agree with how Sandra handled the situation…although the physical description really wasn’t an important part of the story…but we all know how Sandra gets down when it comes to skin tone…
yeah, i dont know what ice T griping about, considering his music was complete garbage. hip hop was dead long before soulja boy. ice t only mad cuz coco always played with her camel toe to ‘crank dat.’ hater.

I DID!!
I worked at a deli as a cashier, and I was always polite. (shhhh dont tell, I was also stealing money and hooking my friends up with free sandwiches)

COSIGNING WITH MY BLOOD!
Thanks for no good customer service these days piece. My family gets so mad at me when I say something to a waiter or cashier that you know is being disrespectful! Then when you go off on them the people around you start looking at you like you are crazy. I amm all about respect it doesn’t matter how old you are from 16 to 60 I feel you have to give it to receive it. Yes Soulja Boy songs are silly but we had some silly songs back in the day to. Kriss Kross wearing their pants backwards saying “Jump Jump”. The difference is time has changed. Now you have the internet, cell phones, you tube nothing is discreet. So the language in rap is more foul. Ice t needs to remember he once was hated on about killing cops and gangsta rap. Hip Hop is not dead it’s changed. If you are true to what you think is real Hip Hop stay tru to it and don’t change and that’s the problem people aren’t being true to it. So don’t get mad at the Soulja Boys and Lil Wayne. It is what it is!!
Thanks Crys. I’m glad that I am not the only one who noticed how irrelevant and unnecesary it was to describe the girl’s appearance smh…
My thing is this, if you are shopping and you noticed that one of the sales people have a little ‘tude, the smart thing to do is to not bother that person. Just go to another sales person (if possible). I truly think that people do that purposely to start some ****. I currently work retail and I am the type that demands respect. If you need my assistance, sure no problem. But if you want to act condescending and snooty like you are shopping on Rodeo Drive when in actuality you are in a typical traditional retailer, then please beleive I am not helping you. I remember I had this customer from hell and I kindly whispered to her “Do you honestly think that you would act like this if I was off the clock and you and I was outside by the train station”? She just stood there in shock lol.
My point is that respect in EARNED, its not an ENTITLEMENT!!!
@ TsC, I agree with what you’re saying but most of the time I have dealt with people who have attitudes from the jump. As a customer I am polite and not rude but when you act like you dont want to help me or you have an attitude because I ask you a simple question in a regular tone of voice, you need to check that for real. If you dont like your job or for what ever reason you have the attitude is not a problem of mine. I just came to shop, get what I need and be out. And as long as I’m polite and not rude to you, you should act the same way towards me as a customer. And that goes for all ages, not just teens.
@Mimi Renee:
Yea all of that sounds cute, but I guarantee you that on most occasions, not all, that when a customer notices a sales person who is having a bad day, their initial reaction is ” I can care less if they mad, they gonna help me”! A customer acts this way for two reasons: one, their only concern is to get what they came for. Two: They are aware of the B.S. policy that the customer is ALWAYS right, so there really isn’t much to lose if they happen to snap at a sales person; who YOU ALREADY KNEW had a little attitde in the first place. Thats why I think its good for customers to ask for help or even a manager if you feel that the current sales person is gonna give you a hard time. Trust me, management will bend over backwards to make sure that the customer spends their money at the establishment.
Typically, I am able to tell by my customer’s body language and how they communicate, that they might be difficult. I personally know that I have a short fuse, so what I do is get another person to try to delegate for me lol. But hey, you are entitled to your opinion based on your own personal experiences.
First let me deal with Sandra’s ‘customer service’ issue: If you look on the internet, you will find plenty of articles that have declared the end of customer service - and not only from your BK/McDonald’s/Footlocker/Target/Wal-Mart/Home Depot-type employees, but even your big company employees (AOL, Time Warner, Sprint, Best Buy). Big profits and competing in a global economy have replaced giving great customer service. Here are what I think the 2 WORST things companies have done as far as customer service.
1) create a voice-recognition menu - I speak clear English and yet my voice options are never heard or misunderstood. I WANT TO SPEAK TO A REAL PERSON!!
2) change customer service operators to overseas employees. Have you ever been on the phone with a customer service person and all they do is repeat back what you say to them? There is a difference between speaking English and UNDERSTANDING English. I hate when I’m trying to explain a special issue I’m having and while the person knows the words that I am saying, they don’t UNDERSTAND my situation or reasoning.
People are up in arms about China, India and Brazil showing tremendous growth in their economies - why? They’re doing it the same way the US did - using SLAVE LABOR.
In the end, I can only give my 2 cents: I shop in the “white” areas - the “white” McDonald’s shake/ice cream machine is always working; in the hood - it’s always “broke.” The “white” Wal-Mart has a variety of products, in the “hood” Wal-Mart - the response I always get is “WE AIN’T GOT THAT.” I live in NY - if I need money from the teller, I go in the city (Manhattan). If I wait and go in the ‘hood over the weekend, 3 of the 4 teller machines in the branch are out of order or out of money (is that because a large percentages of businesses in the ‘hood only accept cash?).
i think she described her so we can go up there and say how dare u disrespect our queen ms rose lol
And now, I’ve been waiting to throw in my 2 cents about this whole Ice-T/Soulja Boy thing.
First, I am 37 years old and I “grew up” in and WITH rap/hip-hop. I listened to Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Kurtis Blow, Whodini, Run-DMC, MC Lyte, Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, UTFO, Roxanne Shante, Kool Moe Dee, Boogie Down Productions, Slick Rick, Special Ed, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Leaders of the New School, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Black Moon, Brand Nubian, Common (Sense), Queen Latifah, Monie Love, Public Enemy, Eric B. & Rakim, LL Cool J, Heavy D, Gang Starr, EPMD, Mobb Deep, N.W.A, 2 Pac, Digital Underground, Craig Mack, Biggie, The Fugees, Dr. Dre, Snoop (Doggy) Dogg, Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek, Ja Rule, DMX, Goodie Mob, Outkast, YoungBloodz,The Roots, Geto Boys, Redman, Keith Murray, the LOX, Lil’ Kim, Foxy Brown, all the way through Master P/No Limit, Nelly/St. Lunatics, Eve, Ruff Ryders, Ludacris, Eminem, Field Mob, 50 Cent/G-Unit, Cam’Ron/Dipset, T.I., Jeezy and a lot of stuff in between. Good music is good music. And whatever you want to listen to, you should be able to listen to.
Here is what I want to know - was there some HUGE beef when Biz Markie put out “Pickin’ Boogers?” A damn CLASSIC hip-hop track - but it was about nonsense (and I LOVE it)! Did people go crazy and diss Shock G when Digital Underground put out “The Humpty Dance?” (And yes, I was doing the Humpty-Hump).
I may not listen to all of Soulja Boy’s music, but I get it - and the steel drums thing was kinda cool. People get so mad about a dance, and they forget that some of the most CLASSIC hip-hop videos had HOT dancing in them that you were in your living room trying to copy. Think about Big Daddy Kane’s “Ain’t No Half-Steppin’”, Special Ed’s “I Got it Made” or Rob Base & DJ-EZ Rock’s “It Takes Two.” YouTube the videos if you need to. A lot of songs were about having a good time - and that’s cool with me. You may not like Soulja Boy, but you gotta respect his hustle.
@ TsC…i understand your point. speaking for me only..i have never just happened to NOTICE a sales person that had an attitude because more than likely im probably too busy shopping and lookin for what i need to notice that in the first place. if i walk up to the counter and say hi do you have this in a size 6? and you look at me like im retarded and then talk to me like you dont wanna help me, i will go to someone else and you will just lose out on that sale/commission because of your poor attitude. if it becomes too much, i will simply report it to a manager and keep it movin. shoot, i have to deal with rude people on a daily basis at my job but that dont mean i need to come to work everyday with an attitude like i dont wanna help nobody. like i said before, i check my attitude at the at the door.
Ice T squashed this beef so there is nothing left to be said really. As for the poor service you received, that is a new phenom that is spreading across the country. When I was a teen working at McDonald’s we were trained to be friendly to guests. Hell, my friend was fired for disagreeing with a customer who was in the wrong. Now you roll up to the drive through and the worker doesn’t even ask you to hold just a second before they make you wait to even place your order. Times have changed and I refuse to change with it in that way. Sadly it is ALWAYS black folks who provide the service with attitude. And I NEVER agree with Sandra when she puts down black people, but on this point I find that she is correct. It’s sad.

THIS IS THE BEST QUOTE EVER!!!!
Ice T is too old to be on the internet keeping up this garbage. I agree that Hip Hop is in a state of emergency, and artists like Solja Boy, Hurricane Chris, Plies, Lil Wayne, ect. are the reasons why Hip Hop is dying. But until we stop listing to this crap on the radio, and buying the songs, nothing will change. They don’t make the music for fun, they make it because it sells. If you don’t want them to make it, then stop buying it.
Sandra, you go girl! I hate bad customer service. I don’t think customer service reps care about their clients, or recognize the fact that when I buy these products, it insures your job. As an attorney, I deal with the public, and realize that people are paying for my time and I should treat them with respect. I should give them the service I would expect if I were in their situation. I realize that without them, I would be out of a job.
But see - this is what I’m talking about - who is it exactly that decided Hip Hop is in a state of emergency? Did anyone older than us declare hip hop dead when N.W.A. put out their first record (which at the time, was damn near revolutionary)? Did people diss Biz Markie when he came out singing on a track (Just a Friend)? Did anyone declare hip hop dead when Das Efx came out with the “diggity diggity” rap style? Hell, even Jay-Z rapped that way in the beginning….Did anyone declare hip hop dead when Diddy came out with the shiny suits using late 70’s & early 80’s R&B as the background for some of his hottest songs & remixes?
It is true, there are people who get into hip hop for the money…but “some” people who have become professional athletes, actors, lawyers, doctors, stock brokers & engineers also did it for the money, so you are definitely going to encounter that.
I’m only 25 and I agree TOTALLY with you Sandra. I seen my own 16 year old sister transform in a matter of 2 years into a rude, disreptful individual that I personally cannot deal with! These young’uns have NO respect for NO one and are proud of it. And I do not live in no type of ghetto at all! Its ridiculous!!
I agree with ice…SB is just a lil kid who was playin around, recorded it , threw it on myspace, got “discovered” and stumbled across some money! No REAL TALENT!
Im no SB fan but, his response to ice was priceless.
My turn.
I listened to both T & Soulja’s comments. This is no different than the bull$heesh Bill Cosby spit out about Black Women on wel-fare being lazy as he tried to keep his mistress a secret or Obama on Black Fathers using his platform as a forum to put his own father on blast. We, Black people, people of color…whatever, tend to air our dirty laundry in public. This is ALL a remnant of slavery & the Willie Lynch syndrome in which folks would tattle tale on the ones that were trying to “Give ME Free!” It doesn’t matter at this point who was right because the overall truth in the message was lost in the muck & mire of the cursing and disrepect between an old pimp and a little boy. T lost millions of Black males with his jealous rant and rave about a 17 year old did in less than 3 years what it took him over 20 years to do. Not only that, T could have best served the Black community by giving advice on the pros & cons of the music industry, its fast money and the laws of attraction of bull$heesh that come with it. If T wanted to sell an album, he could have done a colabo, duh. But how different was T’s “Let’s Get Buck Naked and F**k song any different than “Crank That”? Soulja on the other hand was let’s see…… he’s a child. I don’t care how much money he “worked hard for” the bottom line he hasn’t lived long enough to be walking in his grown man. And more over his feelings were hurt (which is evidenced in his rambling rant and rave after he made a valid point). Funny or not, it’s boils down to ni**a $heesh. Go figure.
