I’m sure she would have beat or slapped him had the cameras not been there filming her. I can’t believe he had the nerve to say “your not the boss of me”. She should have been put her foot in his butt. I don’t believe in beating kids, but sometimes just talking to a child don’t work. Watching that made me mad.

This morning, we’re leaving out the house for work/school and my 7 year old daughter saw my neighbor’s dog lurking by the fence as we were walking to the car. Now me and my 16 year old proceed to the car to put the baby in the car seat and my daughter is still standing there looking at the dog with the dumbest look on her face. I’m yelling at her ass telling her to come the hell on and get in the car. She’s just standing there looking at the dog through the fence. At this time I started walking toward her well low and behold she starts speed walking backwards cause she KNEW I was gonna knock the Shit out of her for holding me up for 5 minutes. We walked outside, got into the car, I made sure she was safely strapped in her seatbelt, I put the car in reverse and comenced to taggin’ that ass, arm, chest, jaw, and what have you. She tried to jump out of the car while it was rollin’, lucky for her I’m a mother that cares enough to make sure you put your seatbelt on just so you couldn’t get away. With one hand on the steering wheel and the pedal to the metal I reached over with the other hand and sat her upright in the seat and CONTINUED to bash that ass! Then I threw her ass in the yard at her “cohorts” aka “grannies” (granny’s always take up for the babies)and all the seen was smoke and tail lights. Don’t trip!

I didn’t HEAR what was going on in the video, but LORD knows I “seent” it. And from me reading his lips, it looked like he said:

I want to die, so I am going to slap the sh!t out of you so that you can send me to meet my maker. Take me now in the name of Jesus!

Or at least that’s what I would have interpreted him saying if I was sitting in that chair when he THOUGHT to slap me.

Mom and son (he looked 5 or 6) are at department store make-up counter.

The son picked up a tube of lipstick and begins smearing it on a display. The counter girl asked the little boy to put the lipstick back in the display. He did..only to pick it back up later. The coutner girl tells the mom (who is busy checking out blush) and mom told her son to stop. He does and starts againg. This time mom spanks the boy’s hand.

The boy now hit his mom on her hand! The counter girl looks at the mom who his now wearing a sheepish grin. The mom says “I’m sorry, he’s a little tired, we just got back from the dentist and he’s a little tired.”

The counter girl is me 11 years ago and the mom and son…well, they are Black. This event will never leave me because it rarely happens in the Black community, nonethe less, it happens.

I’m just hoping mom regulated when she got home—because at the counter, her son punked the heck out of her!

I just watched this video – and while I certainly understand the comments here about never raising your hands to your parents, I want people to take a SECOND look at the video.

It seems to me that the young man is FRUSTRATED because THE MOTHER IS IMMATURE and doesn’t know how to be a PARENT. This behavior is MORE HER FAULT THAN HIS. He’s simply reacting to environment. She’s trying to act like his big sister, bossing him around, bullying him and telling him what to do like he is her property. SHE DOESN’T RESPECT HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE, so why should he do the same?

Let’s look at the plane incident: he asked his mom to turn down her headphones, and she told him that she would not. To me, that’s rude and inconsiderate, like these idiots that ride the trains here in NY with their headphones so loud I can hear them on the other end of the subway car, or these fools who play music from their cell phones out loud. They have headsets, people! No one wants to hear Lollipop for the 5,000,000th TIME!! Anyway, he says he ‘tapped’ her to get her attention (and I believe him). When he tapped her the second time, she JABBED him back. Is returning physical aggression the appropriate response for a parent? NO! When a baby is swinging their hands and hit you in your face or when a baby bites you, do you haul off and smack the crap out of them? No! You hold their wrists, get their attention and say “NO!” so they understand that hitting or biting is wrong. Everyone goes through that, either at home, or in day care.
Then the kid says the mother basically hauls off and hits him, saying “That’s enough!” He keeps saying he LIGHTLY tapped her arm to get her attention. KIDS DO THAT! Have none of you never had a kid that keeps tapping his mom on the shoulder, saying, “Mom! Mom! Mom!” or a kid that keeps interrupting a conversation? The kid is just trying to get her attention, and he’s trying to deal with her on a sane level when she hauls off and hits him, berates him, bullys him, and makes him feel less of a person. You can see it in the frustration on his face.
When he tells her to shut up, he asks her, “How does that feel?” When he smacks her face, he asks again, “How does THAT feel?”

WE ARE NOT SEEING THE MOTHER’S TRUE BEHAVIOR IN FRONT OF THE CAMERAS – SHE’S THE ONE PUTTING ON THE SHOW – NOT THE CHILD. SHE’S ONLY MAD BECAUSE HE’S PUTTING HER ON FRONT STREET.

THIS CHILD DOES NOT, I REPEAT, DOES NOT BELONG IN A JUVENILE FACILITY. HE DOES NEED A REAL THERAPIST, BUT ONLY BECAUSE OF THE MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL TRAUMA THAT THE MOTHER PUT HIM THROUGH.

SHE’S THE ONE THAT NEEDS TO BE LOCKED UP. SHE’S A POOR, VERY POOR EXCUSE FOR A PARENT.

It is NEVER okay for a kid to hit his/her parent. Frustrated or not, we knew not to hit mama because she had some “THERAPY” for whatever ailed us—if you catch my drift.

Being frustrated is a part of life but you don’t haul off and hit people because of it. Shoot, my boss would have all kinds of lumps on his temple and forehead, if that were the case.

I’m not saying that spanking is ALWAYS the answer, some children jump in line when you talk or give them a certain look. But a lot of us need(ed) whippings. I would have been un-manageable without the threat of catching a beatdown for acting out.

I remember thinking about NOT doing something ONLY because the stakes of catching a whipping were too risky.

My oldest brother was a whole different story, just looking at him caused him to fall back from doing crazy stuff. The rest of us got whippings when we were bad-acting.

I watched the video a second time and I still feel that regardless of how she treats him, she is still his MOTHER and the adult in the situation. When she asked him why didn’t he listen to her when she told him to stop before she must have elbowed him on the plane his response your not the boss of me and that he has control of his mind and body. I WISH one of my 3 kids would ever say some shit like that to me and they will be layed the hell out.

I have an 11 month old son and no I wouldn’t haul off and slap him if he hits me when he is playing or waving his hands around. He’s a baby and I have more patience then to just hit him for no reason. Those 2 things can not be compared. Because an older child knows clearly the difference between right and wrong when it comes to yelling and raising their hands to their parents. I know I did.

I understand what you are saying, I do.

9 times out of 10, all my parents had to do was look at me a certain way, and I would chill. However, I had a short phase when I was around 8 or 9 years old where I would steal money (My parents used to leave it out on their dresser). However, my mother fixed me good one time. She deliberately let a $10 bill fall behind the dresser, and I took the bait. When I was caught, I caught the ass-whipping of life (welts on the legs and all). Needless to say, I NEVER did that sh** again.

Another time, when I was 13/14, I was being difficult when my mother told me, “You’re making me sick!” (all parents say that at some point). I said back to her, “YOU are making ME sick!!” As God as my witness, this is what happened: I remember her taking 2 steps toward me FROM ACROSS THE ROOM (I still have no idea how she got that far that fast) and the next thing I remember, I was picking myself up off the floor. I didn’t even say sh** under my breath any more after that!

To me, this case is different. While I agree it’s NEVER, EVER ok to raise your hands to your parents, imagine every time you tried to interact with your mom & dad, they insulted you, hit you or slapped you. Imagine if your parents stooped down to your level and were childish, overbearing and immature. You’d end up acting just like this kid, or others that end up running away, assaulting other kids, or even become killers.

If you look, many those people (murderers) had parental issues, where the parents just didn’t know how to properly love, support and guide their children. This woman lacks basic parenting skills – she needs help from Nanny 911 (If you watch that show or even the Dog Whisperer, you’ll see that most of the problems are with the parents or in the case of the Dog Whisperer, the dog owners, not the kids or dogs). They are only responding to their environment.

This kid is going to end up abusing his girlfriend or wife becuase that’s all he knows.

AND IT’S THE MOTHER’S FAULT.

Who went thru 9 months and ? many hours of excruciating pain to bring him into to the world? Who is spending their money to take care of him? His mother….y’all might disagree, but until he turns 18, my son is my property, as I am the one who is responsible for him, taking care of him, putting roof over that head, food in that mouth, shoes on those feet. There’s this case here in NY where a young man is charged with murder in the shooting death of another, the mother says, “He doesn’t have murder in his heart. Where is the daddy?

There is no reason for that child to have slapped his mother. My daughter talks reckless to me EVERYDAY! I’m letting her get it all out! Because the day when I get fed up (and she knows not the day nor the hour)she is going to wish she NEVER swished the spit around in her mouth to say “nathan”. I have warned her about yelling and mumbling under her breath. She wants to keep it up…..its her choice. I kick out words of wisdom to her every now and then such as…….”it all starts with you” or “speak softly before it becomes permanent” or “move when I say move”. All this for a reason. I try to be patient with my child. I greet her in the morning, I greet her in the afternoon. I ask her how her day was. We cook dinner together. We eat together (w/no media interference). But *singing* “when a womans fed up” it ain’t gone be sh!t she can do about it. I am going to come down with vengence upon thee. I have been known to whoop her til I got tired. Oh and I do plenty of push-ups in the morning.

I think the boy’s “satisfaction” was him (in his mind) exposing to the world how he’s being treated at home. His mother seems to try to put on airs like she’s all prim & proper. I absolutely don’t think she talks that way at home. I think she’s probably rude, nasty & aggressive. And then, when she went on Dr. Phil, all her sh** came right back in her face, embarrassing the hell out of her. And that’s why her face twisted up like that. Especially when he says, “How do YOU like it?”

He gave her a taste of her own medicine. He obviously feels embarrassed and humiliated at home, so he did the same to her on national TV. She deserved it. And THAT’S why he had that look on his face.

My kids are a blessing and I would never treat them as if they are a piece of property. There are times that me and my 16 yr old son go at it, because he is just like me and wants the last word in on everything. But he knows how far to take it, he will never ever disrespect me. So with that, I believe the home training and respect starts when the kids are small. I never had to worry about my kids acting out in public or anything. I never had that problem. They might have ran around in circles while I was at the counter paying for something, but straight up running amok in the stores HELL TO THE NO!…

Hey Prynsexxx ; you are off the chain!;-) The fact that the mom did not even make the slightest motion to hit him tells me that she doesn’t spank him and probably never has. The mom has to be the mom; you start disciplining your child at day 1. You have to put the fear of God in them early so that what just happened doesn’t happen. Beat that behind or they will beat yours. And I don’t mean abuse. My mom spanked my behind when I did wrong but I knew that I deserved it and I knew that my mother loved me. Ok I finally watched the video. What parent spends that much time arguing with their child. That converstation would have been over a long time ago if that me. I don’t believe in abuse but that kid has issues and needed his ass whooped a long time age. Look how big he is. You know he could do some damage. I have never seen a black mother give her kid that much contol. She bullies this boy. He will never have respect for her unless they get him help (and not Dr Phil help). This kid could also act the way he does due to diet. We can tell he doesn’t miss meals. lol. But some foods cause agressive behavior.
