Celeb Style: Monica!
Last week Monica worked a 5-day stint at V-103 radio station in Atlanta subbing for her pal Ryan Cameron who is on vacation. If you listened you heard Monica talk about her upcoming reality show on Peachtree TV titled Monica: The Single. You also heard Monica discuss her comeback album and her upcoming boys clothing line called Regions of Rock.
Monica’s album has at least 6 potential Top Ten tracks according to an insider who heard the album. She plans to depart from the direction her last album took and stick more to the ballads that made her world famous.
Over the weekend, Monica was in LA doing a little shopping. Her stylist Shun Melson decked her out in Louis Vuitton from head to toe. Of course, Monica couldn’t leave the West Coast without checking out the Louis Vuitton store on Rodeo Drive. Lovely!

I may be sent to the corner for this one but…Someone needs to do a post on where half these “celebrities” get their money. Monica hasn’t sold anything in about 10 years (Wasn’t the ‘boy is mine’ the last single she had that hit the top 10 -and Brandy wrote that one). Even if she’s getting a major discount, with two kids, shouldn’t she be conserving her pennies, instead of wasting it on overpriced canvas?
But I’m in Canada, maybe she’s doing something in the States that we don’t get up here. Then again, wouldn’t Sandra have posted it?

I don’t get the whole scarf in the summer thing, but hey, whatever floats your boat. As for where her money comes from I guess she gets royalty checks, plus she has still been doing albums every now and then. She must make something off of that even though she has not sold worth a darn after her first album over 10 years ago.
My friend’s former choir is sampled on Kanye’s Jesus Walks having recorded the song about 10 years ago. While she’s off this summer (she’s a teacher) her Jesus Walks royalties will be paying her mortgage. If she gets that much from being sampled in a choir, can you imagine what Kanye is still making from it? If an artist doesn’t get screwed in their contract, they can do ok off of a hit or two for a long long time if not for the rest of their lives.
That would be the perfect outfit here in this crazy San Francisco weather! Its that cold/hot weather and you cant ever predict it. She looks well put together…Im hoping she lives up to all this hype on her album. She is a pretty girl and carries herself very well in public which is a nice change from what these other gutta female artists are out here doing.
