Hancock Homophobic?

The good folks at The Gay + Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) are offended by a scene in the new film Hancock. In the scene, Hancock, played by Will Smith, dismisses comic book superheroes as, “Homo. Homo in red. Norwegian Homo.” GLAAD makes the ridiculous claim that the movie as a whole is homophobic, saying the movie takes a “cheap, unfunny shot at gay people”.

What’s amusing to me is that once again GLAAD has managed to embarrass gay people everywhere.

I wasn’t offended when I read a review for the movie on Roger Friedman’s FOX 411 gossip column. Friedman called the scene “charming” (albeit in a sarcastic tone).

What I find offensive is the “Reverend” Jesse Jackson inciting a feeding frenzy among the national media’s trained seals by threatening to cut Barack Obama’s nuts off. I think GLAAD should get on top of that right away! :)
