Is “The Single” about Monica or B. Cox?
Am I the only one who thought “The Single: Monica”, which premieres tonight on Peachtree TV, was a reality series - not a one-hour special?
Here’s the description of “the special” taken from Peachtree TV’s website:
THE SINGLE: MONICA will follow the Grammy-winning, multi-platinum R&B artist as she works with record producer-songwriter Bryan-Michael Cox and J Records A&R executives Larry Jackson and Jaha Johnson, on an upcoming single for her new album. The special will track the process of creating a hit song from conception to recording to release, while also providing a peek at Monica’s home life.
Now here’s the kicker: “The Single” is a series focusing on producer Bryan Michael Cox’s pursuit of a hit single for various artists - including Monica. In other words, “The Single” is actually B. Cox’s show - not Monica’s.
The next episode of “The Single” will feature B. Cox writing a song for a different artist other than Monica. Did Peachtree TV make that clear or am I the only one who misunderstood?
Was the promotions done in a misleading way to get the viewing public to watch a series about B. Cox - whom most people don’t have a clue about?

was the show misleading??? or did your good girlfriend lead you into believing that she actually had her own show??? that is the question?? since she’s always on your blog and emailing you photo’s of family and updating you on wedding plans (supposedly) and things she’s doing…i’m sure she wouldn’t LIE to you about her having her own show now, would she??

I watched the coming attractins for it on Sunday and they didn’t mentin s*it about Cox BUT they did say it was an hour long special and not a premire.. Mnica will get her own show some day just not today

Well initially Monica kept refering to it as her “reality show”…However a few months ago when PeachTree TV released the official press release, they it did state that The Single, is a one hour reality special about Monica finding a hit single to spark her comeback. So youre right, there will be more “The Single’s”..Monica is just on the premiere episode…I spoke w/ a J Records executive and he informed me that depending on how MOnica’s episode goes in Atlanta, there might be a development deal for a full fledged reality show on a major cable network…..but to clarify, youre right, this is NOT Monica’s reality show. It is a hour long special peek into Mo’s home life and picking a hit single….
Oh well I guess those of us that do not live in Atlanta don’t have to worry about not being able to see this show anymore. I see enough of B Cox on making the band

I don’t know if Peachtree was misleading, but the couple of blogs I read about it on were as they called the series “The Single: Monica” which I thought was strange anyway. Now it turns out the name of the show is just “The Single”. I also saw on a blog that Monica had a launch party of sorts for “her” show. So are you saying it turns out that Monica had a party just for being on Michael’s show? Clearly Monica doesn’t read your blog since she let this wrong information be posted on this site repeatedly without saying a word. The good thing is now that I know the show is about B. Cox I don’t feel bad about not seeing it. I don’t really care for him as a producer.
I was also under the impression that it was a series cuz I heard Monica on V-103 this morning saying they were taping 17 hours a day & it was tiring. Damn, did they need that much footage for 1 show? This should be interesting to see.

yeah i thought it was a series the way they had a party and all for it and i was at the party and they kept announcing monicas new series so it just being one episode is news to me also lol
It is a series, but not HER series. She is a FEATURED artist on the PREMIRE episode of the series…..

Not that I planned on watching it, but I thought it was going to be a series too and that it was going to be focused on Monica. She even had a party for it, why would someone have a party for being a part of an episode? Did she get played at the last minute? No one is having a party for being an extra on a Peachtree TV show. No one.
Hell, I too thought it was mostly about Monica. I even went to their website and watched all of the previews it had on her. Maybe thats why the show isn’t broadcast everywhere. This isn’t new anyway, they always use the popular to help the unpopular even in movies, just to get your money or ratings and the popular may have had 10 if 15 minutes.
