According to an online report, the son of legendary producer Dr. Dre was found dead in his home on Saturday morning. The report named the deceased man as 20-year-old Andre Young Jr.
Dre also has a 26-year-old son, Curtis Young, a rapper who goes by the name Hood Surgeon (pictured above).
The son of legendary rap producer Dr Dre has been found dead at his home in Woodland Hills on Saturday morning.Andre Young Jr., 20, was unresponsive when his mother went to check on him around 10 A.M., calling 911 to alert paramedics.
Young’s cause of death is pending completion of a toxicology report. (Source)

Wow that’s sad.. Boy are our days numbered. My mom was just saying how young people are dying left and right she mentioned how back in her days you either had to be old or sick to die but not anymore!!! We really need to get our lives together while we can.

i hope its a rumor, there is no hurt that’s is worse than the pain of loosing a child. i know my folks have never gotten over theirs. you know this is problem that our generation will face, kids growing up in house hold where the parents are active functional drug users. we all know people who are functional crackheads, pill popper, heroine uses, etc…. i know a guy 47, who still smokes weed and goes to the movies like his kids.
i know many parent who smoke weed and see nothing wrong with their kids smoking it and sometimes smoke it with there kids. but what they don’t realize is that people are different and use weed as an introductory drug to move into, crack, meth, heroine, ice smack, or other drugs.
I wonder if he had a relationship with his son. Doesn’t he have a daughter in her late teens/early 20s who is producing her own reality show about her rap career whom he is not close do? She’s saying that he won’t even help her launch her career.
RIP to the son. I saw a picture of the 20 year old on another site. What a loss?
Oh Wow … I hope this is not true. And if it is, may he rest in peace. Death is hard to deal with - no matter who you are - family member, friend, neighbor .. its always tough.

Were you at my church on Sunday? This is the same thing my pastor was speaking on, about how weed smoking is introductory to other drugs. I know some of my high school classmates who were true stone heads in school and now they are crack heads.

This is getting ridiculous. The person in the picture is Hood Surgeon aka Curtis Young, not Andre Young, Jr., if such a person even exists. Curtis Young is not dead, nor is he 20 years old. I have yet to find a reliable source for this rumor. All Hip Hop.com is claiming the story came from the LA Times, yet I can’t find any mention of this at latimes.com. I just can’t believe this rumor is spreading like wild fire without the benefit of a reliable source even if it is the blogs spreading it. Don’t you guys want to know for sure?
Michel’les son with dre is not named jr. He should be in the 17-20 age range tho. However as bird stated the fact that news organizations are reporting this story using the picture of the person above, yet not stating this isnt the alleged deceased leads me to believe this may not be true. Hopefully it’s not.

Very sad to hear. The sons pic posted above, he look just like Dre.
Also, I smoke weed and have for quite sometime and have NEVER EVER wanted to or tried any other drugs.
