If You Leaked T.I.’s Track, He’s Coming For You
Rapper T.I. is furious that a track featuring Jay Z, Lil’ Wayne and Kanye West has leaked a month early. T.I. must have fell and bumped his head. It seems he’s forgotten that tracks always get leaked prior to the album coming out. I just know he isn’t calling out Internet bloggers such as myself for posting that weak ass track “Swagga Like Us”? Do I have to remind Mr. Harris that it is bloggers like myself who keep him relevant?
He says,
“Don’t ruin the event. Wait till the cake comes out the kitchen before you eat it. That’s like a kid who sees his toys before Christmas; it takes away from me and from the fans as well.“When it’s time, I’mma (sic) give it to you. Leakage is never a problem I have had. I’m not used to it.”
Whatever. Maybe if the track was hot I might understand why he’s mad. But it isn’t so I don’t.

I have a confession. Don’t hate me T.I. for this….but I have never purchased any of your albums. I have always downloaded them off the internet for free. Hope we are still cool. I’m a teacher and we don’t make much money (thats my excuse).
Pretty much the same way that I received a few seize and desist letters from Atlantic legal team about some of the Mixtapes that we were gettting directly from DJ Drama. The last time I checked he is Grand Hustle’s and T.I.s DJ. So that was pretty bogus

Whether songs are leaked or not, if an album delivers “fans” will support you! These artist get all uptight about leaks and really need to worry about actually producing something worth buying.
Note to TIP - I do like your music. I have never purchased an album but ASAP was my ringtone ….

It was actually the week prior to the BET Awards, it was on a Tuesday night, the listening party that is.
I know I sent the track to you. TI needs to take notes from Lil Wayne and realize that no matter how much you album and/or tracks are leaked, if you are hot YOU WILL SELL!!!! When his “Still I Stand” or whatever was leaked, I didn’t hear him saying much. He rode off the success of that leaked track and made a video that made it to #1 on 106 and park. Damn near Jeezy’s whole album has been leaked and I don’thear him crying!
Oh ok, I guess he was too busy getting his gun hookup setup. I bet he wish he woulda went to the party instead. hehehehehehe

I guess he did not see that Kanye posted the song on his own blog…but the song is hot…and T.I.’s verse pales in comparison to the other guests.

Well I havent even listened to this new track cuz so far what I’m hearing off Paper Trail, I don’t like. Well I do like Swing Your Rag, but i cannnnnnnnnnnnot stand “Whatever You Like” or “Still I Rise” or whatever that song is called.

Nelly with that being said, I have never bought your cds and I never will. Because I too dont make that much money with student loans and bunch bills I cant afford to purchase your cd. I earn my $20 CD money from slapping smart mouth mofos on the internet.
I am not going to front I have been downloading since napster was free and artist start making 2 minute songs. I may by the CD if I really like it and I do not want the mix tape DJ screaming in the background lol. I like TI but they play all of his songs on the radio no need to get a CD.

ive downloaded and bought all t.i. albums since im serious i was one of the 8000 who bought the first album first week which i usually get it first week cause thats usually when its on sale. i download them so i dont really have to handle the cd and keep it in pristine condition and put the downloaded stuff on my iphone
record companies leak tracks to create interest or buzz about a project. ti certainly doesnt think we are that dumb to know his a&r people sent his tract to the radio stations and popular music blogs with alot of freebies and junk so the dj will put it in the rotation. you know you can have the hottest song on the planet but if the radio stations dont play the song, or put it in heavy rotation it wont ever get heard or make it to the charts.
I have a confession to make…I have loved me some T.I. since I was a High School student!!! BUT I do download his songs…HOWEVER I have EVERY damn T.I. album and I intend on purchasing ‘Papertrail’ as well. I’m even a lil disappointed his album keeps getting push backed…
I agree with all the people who said it doesn’t matter if a song gets leaked…if the album is hot it will sell. Also, thats how 50’s first album blew up…50 was like download this ish PLEEEASE!!! All the anticipation from those hot songs just made u wanna run out and by ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’ on its release date.
I think 50 selling so many albums off of ‘Get Rich…’ is testimony to songs leaking NOT hurting album sales.

I have never downloaded a CD for free on the net…just too worried about the endless viruses and the Net Police. Plus my job give me access to alot of free CDs. Still…if there’s an artist I really like, I’ll go to Target or Best Buy and pay the $10…yep! I go the day it comes out to get the sale price. But hey, a record sold is a record sold!! LOL!! =) T.I. ain’t worth $10 to me, don’t own any of his CDs, and never will unless I happen to get one for free…
