Janet Jackson Launches Lingerie Line

Legendary singer Janet Jackson is now a business woman with the launch of her new lingerie line “Pleasure Principal”. This new venture couldn’t have come at a better time for Janet now that her recording career is officially over. I so see Janet as a fashionista diva designing fabulous clothes and dressing other celebrities.

Janet’s new line of sexy lingerie will be in stores by early 2009. The line was co-designed with Australian lingerie designer Bruno Schiavi, and will come in a range of sizes: 32A to 44G. The line is designed to be comfortable especially for plus sized women.

“I hate when you’ve had on a bra all day long and you just can’t wait to take it off — every woman has experienced that,” she said. “A lot of lingerie tends to leave those marks and be uncomfortable. This line is about detail, fit and comfort as well as beauty and making women feel sexy.” (Source)

I’ll support her in this just as I have supported her music. I’m not even fat and I have a hard time finding a bra the fits correctly in Victoria Secret. It’s nice to hear that Janet is creating something for us in-between girls.

Wow … I hope this venture really pans out for Janet. I know for me purchasing lingerie is a pain. I am extrememly top heavy and small on the bottom. So buying sets (beyond basic colors matching) is always hard. Lane Bryant makes nice colors and designs but the bras’ don’t support me that well, the underwires always bother me. And I always have to get the bottoms altered because I swim in them. Victoria Secret doesn’t make lingerie to really fit shapely women IMO, there 38 DDD is more like a 38 C. And when they accomodate my size in a style, the stores is always out of it, if you order online it takes forever and a day and when I received the bra it still doesn’t fit right. I know I wouldn’t mind paying extra for comfort and style … I look forward to hearing more on this line. There is def a void in the lingerie industry.

And BTW Janet looks awesome in the pic above, plastic surgery or not .. she will always be a beauty.

I heard about this on The Tom Joyner morning show. I think this will be a great venture for Janet. Can’t wait to see how it looks.

i don’t really dig the name though. it’s too long, who wants to say all that. i would shorten it to “pleasure” by janet or “pleasure” by jj ya know? i understand the name and concept from the song familiarity BUT naaaaaaaah too long and unfitting. but that’s how i think. hell not that i’ve had any offers or investers in a clothing line so i guess i should just hush. heheee…

On another note:

Why do they have “Becky the bone” modeling that line. With as live as Janet’s body is, I WOULD much rather see her in it. After all, it is her line.

Sit Becky in the corner somewhere with a rib sandwich and a diet Coke (not the powder form but the pop) to make her feel better.

janets music career over ? she still sells music, but we are in a time where most music is boosted. shoot i aint bought a cd in yrs they are free on the net all day long. why buy when you can it for free. so she is going to have to do what old school artist do, get radio play and tour.

you know the rolling stones havent had a hit in 20 yrs, but pull in 300 million a yr touring. nancy wilson hasnt had a hit in yrs but she has 60 albums out still wins grammys and tour still sell out. so does janet pull beys numbers, no but will be have the fan following and power when shes 42 ?

^^ i agree with all of this . from what i understand janet’s tour is selling pretty well despite her last album not doing so good. look at madonna . her last album didn’t do so well( her last couple albums ) but she’s pulling in millions from touring alone.

Um, you know you’re a bad bytch when you can make the “model” you’re standing next to look like walkin shyt, that chick pales in comparison to Janet…Janet is the best, she’s absolutely gorgeous, whether she had surgery or not…you don’t get to look this good if you aren’t gorgeous to begin with…alot of people have surgery, and them mugs hella ugly still.
