I liked it but I’m kind of disappointed “Still standing” isn’t the single because it could have worked if only given a chance but, I guess we’ll see sometime this month or whenever..

I have so much to say.. first was the snippet shots of Rocko really needed?? And y do I get the feeling that lil Rock is kind of immune to being left w/relatives its like he knew the deal immediately when he got out the car… and wow isnt that the same fit she had on in LA while shopping scarf and all.. I know that she has some type of mola left til the point she doesnt have to repeat fits.. and was she for real about that taxi song.. Now still standing I like it. But I am with the label that is not a power single and furthermore there is so much left to say I dont know what else to say.. And was she for real riding on the sidewalk to take her “husband” his shoes and jewelry again I say WWWWOOOOWWWW.. nevertheless no one can take her singing abilities away b/c Mo can SANG!
another thing why did that line come so natural… “when u pull up im bust ur windows” dangggggg has someone been telling their husband this???

I LOVE “STILL STANDING” IT’S TRULY MONICA!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT 100% AND TO HAVE LUDA ON IT SOLD ME ON IT. MONICA WE LOVE YOU KEEP IT COMING!!! AND THE SHOW GRABS ME I WANT TO SEE MORE AND SHE IS TRULY HERSELF.

That was great! Big ups to Peachtree for the quality of the program. This really showed Monica in great light and I hope this makes the haters fall back some. I still don’t understand why yall throw so much shade at my girl.

What does that nut mean “Still Standing” doesn’t strike him as a first single? That just pissed me off!!! Monica was so excited about the song, then for him to say that!! I can see the hurt on her face; but oh well, I’m sure she will do what she needs to do, and just like she said, she’s still standing!!! Do you Monica!!
SHE IS SUCH A GREAT SINGER AND THE SHOW MAKES YOU WANT TO WATCH ANOTHER EPISSODE, STILL STANDING US THAT SING, SO EMOTIONAL, SO DEEP, AND TRACK IS FIYAH.
I actually like the show and the song Still Standing. If she is indeed gettihg a spin off then I can’t wait to see it.

Ok, so I watched the full episode via the link provided. I’m so mad with the record exec right now, I could bust his windows if he rolled through the A!
STILL STANDING is the hit Monica wants and needs to bring her new project out on top. It’s her all the way and I cried just like she did when I heard the lyrics.
Record Execs are so stuck on what they think people want to hear, but not listening to their artists or how they feel about their work. If an artist feels their work with the passion and fire that Monica felt about Still Standing, our music industry would be so much better.
The music we hear today is nothing but percussions and a hook. MONICA sang the mess out of that song and her writer (his name escapes me) wrote that song in record time. That’s a true writer. He brought out all the facts that we know about Monica and put them to words that we can all relate to. That is the business!
Monica: Keep your head up! Still Standing will be a #1 hit… mark my words! BTW, can’t wait to see more. You keep it real and I love the way you hold it down for your man.

Not much of a Monica fan but watching that whole process was interesting.She seems like a cool person, unfortunately she gives too much control to producers and writers and that’s why she’s inconsistent in her career.”Still standing” is a strong single, should do well on Urban radio formats.

Me too, I fell asleep at the last 10 minutes of the show so I didnt see who went home. I think that he is gonna go all the way because he really needs it more.
As far as Monica I love her just last night I was listening to the “Boy is Mines” cd yes Im stil stuck on her and brandy damn it when are they gonna come out on top where both of them should be!!!

I agree still standing is a very strong song. It deserves to have the title track. As far as being a lead single though… I’m not 100 on that one. It would be a great second single as well as a great album opener. I’m with you Sandra, Monica needs some real producers. Brian Cox should have never even approached her with that 1st wack track, and that ‘Taxi’ song sounds like a Neyo ripoff. I can’t wait for a real reality show and album.
I’m on the 3rd vid & so far I luv it. Very candid look into her life. She’s down to earth, sensitive but definitely about her muthafn business. I’m feelin the song that they were recording on the 3rd video, that right there is a hit. Monica do your thang girl, you dope as hell.
Yes I also watch G’s to Gents and it was hilarious, poor guy from Detroit is just really in a bad way. So sad, I really hope they do learn a little something so they can turn their life a around.

I LOVE still standing and I can’t believe she wasn’t feelin’ it when she first heard it. Was I the only one who though this was gonna be a series? lol I was mad as hell when I checked the guide for the same time next week and damn seinfeld was on!

Monica was right her Fan’s don’t really know her..after watching this show I see her differently not just some stuck up (Beyonceactinish) chik. She seems down to earth..as if she could step out of fame and kick it wit regular folks..like me! It’s nice to see not afraid to have a doo rag on her head and changin pampers.. it shows she aint all about the GLAM..
and that song I had to roll that tape back a couple of times because It’s HOT!!!!
o.k. so I posted b-4 watching video#6 and I can’t believe that A&R said he wasn’t sure about that record…Does she need to have a head full of weave and prance around butt nekkid for her to get some attention. As being at the age I’m in now I appreciate her style of music over what’s played on the radio 99.9% of the time! and what I appreciate most about it is…It’s REAL!!
I really enjoyed the show lastnight. Ive been a fan of Monica since 1995 so as always Im excited when she comes out with something new. I love Still Standing. Hopefully they can leak the single and the execs at J Records will see that it doesnt matter what they like, as long as the fans like it..thats all that matters.
I was cracking up @ Rocko in the bedroom scene. You can tell he did the show to be supportive of her, which is so cute…but you could tell he is like whatever with those cameras and the invasion of privacy.
Overall, I think the show was great. I hate that it is not a series. Hopefully it will get picked up. Frank and Wanda announced the viewing stats this morning and it rated higher than all the shows on other networks lastnight for 18-34 year olds.
I like the single “Still standing”. Monica can sing. She needs the right people promoting her and she will make a come back.

she should’ve never started working with jermaine dupree. jd is good at working with kids, not adults. why do you think he drops them from his label once they reach pubity? “im too hood, everytime the beat drops,” etc…horrible songs for monica, but trusting him, she put her stamp of approval on that garbage…
what’s funny about jermaine is he’s real opinionated about other producers/writers. when kandi/shekespere did ‘pop ya collar’ for usher, he was like “the song was wack, the track was wack”…did the same to kanye about janet’s stuff. everybody makes mistakes, but man, his have ruined careers….
Don’t have much to say about the show except, that little boy is so cute! That baby has Monica written all over him, I don’t see Rocko anywhere! Good!

The reason she has on the same outfit is because those pictures you saw were taken while she was filming the show! Duh! And if you had kids and you needed to go to work where the hell would your kids go? To a close relative you trust or some nanny you don’t know squat about? At least he wasn’t being dropped off at someone’s house who is practically a stranger. And you do sound like a hater…You didn’t even see the show and talking smack. A hater speaks badly on something they have very little info on. i.e. The show.
I enjoyed the show and look forward to the next one. Monica is hella talented as I’m sure she knows. And the comment about her son being “immune to being left by relatives” is baseless and immature. Clearly, Monica is holding it down as a mom, a wife (i know they are not married) and an artist. There will always be haters, naysayers and just plain old negative people so keep doing you Monica and GOD BLESS!

Let me straighten you off rip.. first off I did watch the show DUH that’s what warrant my opinion dummy and another thing no one said there was a problem w/her dropping her kids off at a relative its really none of my concern where she left them. What I said is he seem to be immune to it as if it happens often.. And work what has she done lately that will cause for her to always leave them w/relatives.. When the last time you seen a cd on the shelves or a Monica tour coming near you???? So I don’t know what you classify as work for her but she hasn’t done much lately. Every time we see pics it is always from a club scene so wow maybe you consider that work because she is desperately trying to remain relevant. And as I told the other commenter u all more than abuse the word hate so for that you get a WOW.. Expand your vocabulary and just say that it is cool to disagree b/c what you like doesn’t mean that I have to like and what you agree with doesn’t mean that I have to so on that note toodles and have a wonderful Wednesday.

I caught the episode last night, and I must say that I am a MONICA fan. But I didn’t like the way how B.Cox was hanging her out to dry, like she was an up-and-coming artist. Like, at first, when they met in the studio and he gave her that techno-pop like beat. Buddy knew he was dead wrong for that. What the kucf Mo look like singing over a Britney Spears track? And I like the fact that she is conern with not only what type of music she should bring out, but also what her fans would enjoy as well. Regardless of her record sales, I’ve always enjoyed her music. Whether if she’s singing over hip-hop tracks or slow to mid-tempo beats, the girl got talent. From the previous album,I read how alot of people downed her for singing over hip-hop tracks(ex. Everytime The Beat Drop)or R&B “Hood Songs”, though I didn’t like the song myself, I still found her last album pretty good.
He was so wrong for that techno track. 
My thing to Mo is on this next album: “Do U!” If you feel like bringin out more songs on the level of “So Gone” or “Side Line Hoe!” Do it! ‘Cause you really had true fans that completely understood where you was coming from. “STILL STANDING,” I was feeling that!!! But as far as it being a first single….NAH!!!! Go with something else and put that out later. And find anotha producer to work with ’cause B.Cox sucks!!!
And I’m reading how alot of people want her to go back to singing ballads, (how she started off in the beginning of the game). My thing is, time has change, people experience life, and she might want to shed a lil’ light on that thru her music. People can’t keep singing about the same **** at the same range. Ain’t nothing wrong with change, as Dallas was telling her(ex. Andre 3000, Ceelo, etc). Make/Sing the type **** that will satisfy you, ’cause your music is not going to satisfy everyone.
bottom line, the show had its ups and downs. there were some good times and we learned new, insightful things and there were some fake *ss, typical times as usual.
however, i learned three main things: (1) rocko looks hella better on tv than in pictures,(2) the music game is whack as hell, and (3) the girl has a great voice and style. i would love to see her do some throwback-type (late 70s/early-mid 80s) music. we are ready for a change.
its always the single that the record company go against or rejects as its first single that would do well and win grammys and music awards.
p.s. i do have to give monica kudos for putting herself out there like that for us all to see. it’s not easy to be an artist on the comeback and struggling w/identity–what you feel you want/need to do (maxwell and the white chick from american idol; the first winner) versus what the public/label may want. i like the first song in section 3 i think. i wish her the best.
monica should remake ‘missing you.’ i think that would be hot. the diana ross original that lionel ritchie wrote years ago……
the a/r guy hit it on the head when he made the comment about the type of songs he wants, not that flashy stuff that’s everywhere. b cox reminded me of diddy for some reason; the way he was tryna sell her on that ridiculous track. she was just looking like ‘wtf is this?’ priceless.
i’m thinking when there’s a room of 20 people and only the producer and sounds guys are boppin their heads, something aint right.
i went back and finished watching this. I couldn’t tell if monica was more concerned with her livelihood being threatened, or if she’s concerned with what people will say if she’s dropped by her label?????
it’s so unfortunate that artists and record companies dont use new writers and producers more; well, at least fresh. i can understand not using brand new. i think if b cox, jd and whoever else stayed out the clubs, they’d prolly produce good music again. you go to the club hear a track and think, this what people want..then on the flip side, you got an artist like monica getting the oke-doke from the lame ish they producing.
I love her voice…always have. I think she’s going to be alright once she gets back to what made her monica in the first place.
