Beyonce is holding onto her wig while trying desperately to stay ahead of the blazing hawt Rihanna and other more talented singers like Monica and Brandy who are set to drop new product in the coming months.
VIBE online reports that Beyonce is so desperate to return to the top of the charts that she is releasing two singles on the same day!
On October 7, Beyoncé is releasing two singles radio simultaneously. “If I Were A Boy” and the ironically titled, “Single Ladies”, both of which appear on her upcoming, still untitled, third full-length studio album. The album, featuring all new songs co-written and co-produced by Beyoncé, will be released on November 18. There is still no title for the album. (Source)

None of the ladies you mentioned are really competition for B and only Rihanna has the potential to dethrone B even though she hasn’t yet. Sure Rihanna is all over the place right now, but she doesn’t beat B in endorsements and she doesn’t beat her in sales and as soon as the new music is out she will probably knock Rihanna off the radar at least for a minute. Rihanna has the advantage of youth. B is approaching her thirties so she won’t be the “it” girl much longer.

Rhi Rhis is cool .. but the fact that she isn’t original rubs me the wrong way @ times. She did well at the VMA’s YES - but it doesn’t change the fact that she doesn’t have raw talent like the ladies mentioned above .. She is manufactured. And this is not to say taht I wouldn’t choose to see her over Cassie, CiCi and others. Just don’t see her in the lane w/ Bey at all.

As soon as she see’s everybody else out she’s gonna wanna be back on the scene. She cant stay away for too long. But I must admit, I do look forward to seeing her live performances again because no one is really touching her on that level. I am excited for Beyonce. I love her and I think she’s a all-around artist. She’s been doing her thing and I think she’ll continue doing it for a while because she is so freaking talented. As far as in Rihanna, Brandy, and Monica, they are on a whole nutha stratosphere. They are talented singers and songwriters (sometimes) but Beyonce is a household name, like Kleenex. My definition of ICON status is simple “jesus”. I dont consider people or artist as ICONS thats just me, I think we give these celebrities too much when they are human just like us.But however some people like to think there favorite artist or celebrity is considered an ICON, because there style and/or music.

I’m not sure if you are old enough to remember but Mariah was an “IT GIRL” After she released her first album in 1990 she released albulms almost every year for a decade 91,92,94,95,97,99,01,02…it was only after her break down (after Glitter flopped) that she took 3yr break. As for Mary J she isn’t much differet she releases albums every 2 to 3 yrs and since 05 she has dropped something every year as well as soundtracks and singing hooks for rappers. If you want to stay on top in the industry you have to stay doing what you do! And thats exactly what Bey is doing! She is working and I don’t see why so many people have a problem with this young woman doing what she loves to do!

I think people’s expectations of artist are far-fetched and I never thought I would say this but I agree with Solange when she say she is an ARTist meaning she creates her work and it shouldn’t be about if you like or dislike her personally- if you appreciate or like their work great and if you don’t that’s okay as well, it is your choice but there is some forms of art I just don’t dig as well, specifically rock music, it doesn’t mean that their work isn’t a form of art-that’s what makes it art if everyone expressed themselves in the same way or just like “mary” I’m certain people would get tired of that as well.

and mary is the truth, her last album is the ONLY CD I am currently playing in my car and might I add all day no RADIO at all from beginning to end-I do skip one song on there the one that has that rick james funk to it, I like the beginning but I don’t really care for the rest….
and no pun intended we both know mary doesn’t have the best vocals either, but again she is the truth……it’s about interpretation and what the listener deems as great singing etc.
