also, jumpoffs do keep marriages together. all my close guy friends have strayed and some on the regular. since i’m a female, i always ask what’s the deal and they give compelling, reasonable reasons about their relationships. things that probably won’t ever be repaired/worked out (not even entirely about sex). when i ask why don’t they just get a divorce, they unanimously say they don’t want to upset the kids.

that’s why i’m still single.

There was this guy one time that was trying to get with me. Hard. He was married. He kept claiming that he was happily married, and so I asked him, if that’s the case, why are you trying to get with me. His answer was that he keeps side pieces (note that is plural) to balance out his marriage, so he focuses less on his wife’s “issues” and nagging tendencies. She stays at home watching the kids, performing domestic duties as all men love, and she even has a successful at-home business, but yet he feels compelled to venture out and spend his time and money on a side piece. She’s an extremely pleasant woman too (we lived nearby and I’ve met her a few times at children’s events and such.)

That’s what men are veering towards nowadays. I can only PRAY that my husband doesn’t fall into that mentality.
