Beyonce getting desperate: releasing two singles on the same day

Beyonce is holding onto her wig while trying desperately to stay ahead of the blazing hawt Rihanna and other more talented singers like Monica and Brandy who are set to drop new product in the coming months.

VIBE online reports that Beyonce is so desperate to return to the top of the charts that she is releasing two singles on the same day!

On October 7, Beyoncé is releasing two singles radio simultaneously. “If I Were A Boy” and the ironically titled, “Single Ladies”, both of which appear on her upcoming, still untitled, third full-length studio album. The album, featuring all new songs co-written and co-produced by Beyoncé, will be released on November 18. There is still no title for the album. (Source)

None of the ladies you mentioned are really competition for B and only Rihanna has the potential to dethrone B even though she hasn’t yet. Sure Rihanna is all over the place right now, but she doesn’t beat B in endorsements and she doesn’t beat her in sales and as soon as the new music is out she will probably knock Rihanna off the radar at least for a minute. Rihanna has the advantage of youth. B is approaching her thirties so she won’t be the “it” girl much longer.

I prefer to hear Monica & Brandy sing, no dancing and all the extra stuff needed – the vocal performance is enough. If I go to see Bey … I want a show.
Rhi Rhis is cool .. but the fact that she isn’t original rubs me the wrong way @ times. She did well at the VMA’s YES – but it doesn’t change the fact that she doesn’t have raw talent like the ladies mentioned above .. She is manufactured. And this is not to say taht I wouldn’t choose to see her over Cassie, CiCi and others. Just don’t see her in the lane w/ Bey at all.

Well honestly how long did you think Beyonce was gonna stay quiet?? Not long, LOL. When she said she was gonna chill out, I thought to myself, yeah right. As soon as she see’s everybody else out she’s gonna wanna be back on the scene. She cant stay away for too long. But I must admit, I do look forward to seeing her live performances again because no one is really touching her on that level. I am excited for Beyonce. I love her and I think she’s a all-around artist. She’s been doing her thing and I think she’ll continue doing it for a while because she is so freaking talented. As far as in Rihanna, Brandy, and Monica, they are on a whole nutha stratosphere. They are talented singers and songwriters (sometimes) but Beyonce is a household name, like Kleenex. I always respected her as an artist but I respected her more that day she got punk’d. He held her cool. If you ever want to see what a person is really like, remember there punk’d episode. Rihanna has had songs that have a nice beat and nice lyrics but to carry it off on a stage is something only a true artist like Beyonce can do, she is one who gets my money, even when Rihanna lip syncs it’s a challenge. So competition for Beyonce, now that’s funny……

Monica and Brandy can sing, but the overall apperance is just not there for them even with the talent they have.

I think beyonce does need to worry simply because noone stays the girl forever and she knows this even though some of her hard core fans don’t she has already acknowledged the fact that she is not the it girl anymore and that she was basically singing bubblegum music her words not mine. but she knows that she has to stay revelant, that’s why she can’t stay gone. it’s harder to come back after being gone for too long. even risking oversaturation. and about the rhianna look thing, what do you think gave beyonce the rise to fame? and after she released “b’day” the soundtrack of dreamgirls came out at the end of 2006 early 2007 so we had to endure “listen”. and then in 2007-2008 beyonce was on the radio in the form of remixes. justin timberlake and usher. throw in all of award shows she performed on and tv apperances she did and we have not had a break AT ALL.

i am not a bey hater. i like her music. her style. i just want to miss her a lil bit. that’s all. like mary. i miss her between albums. mariah. i miss her between albums. i just want to go one day, just one and not hear a beyonce song. or see her on tv.

I do like Beyonce, she is a great performer, but to me she’s like the Dina character in Dreamgirls. She has a more commerical sound than Monica and Brandi who both have more soulful voices, well at least Monica does. And it’s easier for her to cross over. That’s not to put down her talent because ole girl is BAD!!!!!!!! (do I sound old saying bad?) She just doesnt have a strong soulful voice.

I’m not sure if you are old enough to remember but Mariah was an “IT GIRL” After she released her first album in 1990 she released albulms almost every year for a decade 91,92,94,95,97,99,01,02…it was only after her break down (after Glitter flopped) that she took 3yr break. As for Mary J she isn’t much differet she releases albums every 2 to 3 yrs and since 05 she has dropped something every year as well as soundtracks and singing hooks for rappers. If you want to stay on top in the industry you have to stay doing what you do! And thats exactly what Bey is doing! She is working and I don’t see why so many people have a problem with this young woman doing what she loves to do!

@kay i am a mimi fanatic. not only do i remember when they were released i own every. single. album. even her christmas album. even the #1’s. i played “daydream” so much (it was the last cassette i ever purchased) it had spots in it where it did not have music anymore–just dead air. i replaced it promptly with a a CD when i realized i had litteraly worn it out.

i never thought it was possible. i even surprised myself. but after the last album i fell out of love with mimi. everyone who knows me knows how big of a mariah fan i am and were shocked.

why did i fall out of love with mimi? b/c the stuff she was singing about in 1998 is the same shyt she singing about in 2008. i am gonna need for her too to sit down. have some kids. get her heart smashed up again so she will sing about something i want to hear.

another of my points is these artists have to go THRU some stuff to be relevant too. just being everywhere on every station every hour of the day is not gonna make you relevant. mariah came back after her breakdown and was the shizznit. mary got rid of k-ci and the drugs and was the shizznit. we are all sitting around waiting for whitney to come out with something b/c we just know that after bobby shabrown and the crack whatever she come with it is gonna be fire. monica and brandy have been through some stuff too so whatever they come with is gonna be certified.

I think people’s expectations of artist are far-fetched and I never thought I would say this but I agree with Solange when she say she is an ARTist meaning she creates her work and it shouldn’t be about if you like or dislike her personally- if you appreciate or like their work great and if you don’t that’s okay as well, it is your choice but there is some forms of art I just don’t dig as well, specifically rock music, it doesn’t mean that their work isn’t a form of art-that’s what makes it art if everyone expressed themselves in the same way or just like “mary” I’m certain people would get tired of that as well.

I’ve heard of people say they are tired of “mary j” crying-personally, I love most if not all of her work…..it’s about preference and to me to each their own and consumers should stop expecting artist to fall from the sky like the great messiah, or spin on their heads, and bend over backwards to entertain or to create the music “they” want

I can agree with that-you make a valid point concerning the “it” girl status

but I do however, disagree that beyonce, which is my personal opinion-was just an it girl. But you do pose a valid point though…..

and mary is the truth, her last album is the ONLY CD I am currently playing in my car and might I add all day no RADIO at all from beginning to end-I do skip one song on there the one that has that rick james funk to it, I like the beginning but I don’t really care for the rest….

and no pun intended we both know mary doesn’t have the best vocals either, but again she is the truth……it’s about interpretation and what the listener deems as great singing etc.
