Goodbye Solo is a new movie garnering both awards and critical acclaim – mainly for the smooth acting of African newcomer, Souléymane (Solo) Sy Savané, who plays the lead role.
Goodbye Solo tells the story of Solo, a kindhearted and friendly 34-year-old Senegalese taxi driver in North Carolina, who is hired by William, a tough 70-year-old white southerner, to drive him in two weeks time to a mountaintop from which William plans to jump to his death. But Solo decides to charm his way into William’s life by becoming his driver, and this odd couple begin an unexpected friendship as Solo hopes to change the old man’s mind before the two weeks are up. Goodbye Solo won the prestigious FIPRESCI International Critics Prize at the Venice Film Festival.

so this is how you garner fame and attn; select a movie from way back when change the dialogue slightly and voila…ur oscar worthy.
note taken.
I’ve never understood white folks and suicide..what the HELL are you unhappy about? They can miss me with the good negra role…
I’ll NOT watch this … throw stones at me if you like ..
I don’t embrace my african side I was born in America .. I’m American .. Period.
The novelty of the noble black person changing a jaded white person’s heart has lost it’s appeal with me.
(in my Blaine Edwards voice) HATED IT !
number 2…i agree. i was just saying something similar to this -this morning. they showed the preview of a movie coming out about the first black man to win the Heisman trophy. needless to say, there’s a white guy saving the day, supposedly making sure it happens. I mean really..how man more movies do we need where blacks are being rescued by whites, or serving whites happily?
I aint mad at him…make that money, its nice to see fresh new faces in the acting game
black people commit suicide too, based on the story Sandra posted
