Meet the Real Housewives of Atlanta

As you know, the Season premiere of the Real Housewives of Atlanta is tomorrow night (10/7) on Bravo network (check your local listings).

Tomorrow night, the ‘Housewives’ will be on hand at a private screening party which takes place at an undisclosed location. It’s expected to be packed so if you have an invite, you’d better get there early. I’m sure seating is on a first come, first served basis.

As you know only two of the cast members are actually married. The rest are either sleeping with other women’s men or single. Hey, this is Atlanta.

I’m only familiar with two of the cast members, Sheree and Lisa. So I’ll share a little of what I know about them.

Sheree Whitfield

Sheree Whitfield is the standout among the cast — mainly because she has a publicist who is working overtime to make sure you know who her client is. Sheree has three children, two with ex-husband, former NFL player Bob Whitfield. Her oldest child is a college student.

I heard some not so nice things about Sheree Whitfield over the weekend — most of which I won’t mention since it’s gossip and you know I don’t go there. But let’s just say that Sheree has almost as many enemies in Atlanta as I have. That could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it.

Anyway, you know the story — she caught her husband Bob cheating. Actually I’m told he was brazen enough to bring his women home and introduce them to Sheree as clients (he has a recording studio) or simply friends. I’m told Sheree had enough of that after a few years of dealing with the infidelity (yes, I was yawning at this point).

I mean, she was married to a football player in Atlanta. What did she expect?

I’m also told that Sheree lost her boutique (Bella Azul) due to money mismanagement and the fact that Bob was no longer pitching in to keep the boutique open.

Like I said, there are some other things that I choose not to mention, but Sheree is getting her life back in order. She has an upcoming clothing line, She by Sheree, featuring her designs.

“Now I’m at a point where I feel good and I’m at peace and I can move on and do bigger things and better things. I’m ready to show everyone how fabulous I am,” she says. “You just have to pray about it and focus on [yourself] and just really know your worth, and just work to know better and do better every day.”

Lisa Wu Hartwell

Most of you know that Lisa Wu was once married to R&B crooner Keith Sweat. They have two children together, 13-year-old Jordan and 10-year-old Justin. She also has a baby with her current husband NFL player Ed Hartwell (a golddigger to her heart).

I first met Lisa in the late 90s when I was invited out to Keith Sweat’s beautiful home to shoot a recording session. Lisa came to the front door with their baby, I believe it was Justin, and she directed me to go around the side of the house to the basement door where Keith’s recording studio was.

she struck me as very nice lady who wasn’t afraid to open her door to a total stranger.
