Video: Dad Punches Down Syndrome Kid for Kicking 4 y/o Son

Once again, a black man reacts with his fists first rather than using his brains. Even in a grainy video, anyone can see that the other boy was mentally retarded and functioning at a 5-year-old level. Clearly, the 4-year-old wasn’t injured or afraid. The 4-year-old handled the situation better than his hotheaded dad.

First of all, the dad shouldn’t have just popped off and hit the guy. Any person in their right mind would know that another grown man isn’t going to simply run up to a 4yr old kid and kick them. He didn’t even open up his mouth. Instead the dad resorted to violence straight up. If I were the woman in the video I would’ve pressed charges.

hottieplus313, I work in a hospital and routinely have patients with Down Syndrome and Autism.

NEVER HAVE I EVER BEEN KICKED, PUNCHED, BITTEN, OR ANYTHING THAT INVOLVES VIOLENCE!

From that video, all I could see what appeared to be an adult, kicking the shiet out of a child. It was NOT EVIDENT THAT HE HAD DOWN SYNDROME!!!!! That boy did not hesitate to hit that child. Obviously, he has a history of doing it. His mother did not budge when he was out of her direct view. WHICH IS A BIG NO NO!

THIS IS AS A RESULT OF IRRESPONSIBILITY ON THE MOTHERS PART! IT’S YOUR CHILD…WATCH HIM!

Ummm is it just me because I couldn’t tell he has a disability— I just thought he was on the phone. It wasn’t until he kicked the kid that I knew something was amiss, but I damn sure can’t tell from looking at his face on this video.

I’m not saying it’s right, but it was just a natural reaction. If someone came up and kicked one of your kids, (down syndrome or not) you would react as a protector and protect your child.

The father probably felt bad afterward.

I cannot see the video, at work of course. Heck I have to restrain myself from wanting to hit a normal little kid when it comes to my kids. Whenever my kids talk about something at school I always say if I could just be that age for a day.

Boiling it down to “another Black man” is complete bunk. This man was EXACTLY right in defending his child. In a country where there are woefully too few Black men defending their women/families, this guy is to be commended!

Alot of mentally challenged folks know exactly what they are doing and if he was so “challenged” why then did he recoil when the Father, a man equal in size to him approach? He kicked that child on purpose and looked quite agressive while doing it.

The Father was 100% correct in knocking his azz flat out!!!

The father probably wasn’t paying any attention the the man until he saw him kicking his son. I can’t say how I would have reacted but it would have been close to what the dad did.

Wow, that’s pretty messed up. Well in the father’s defense, it looked like he may have just walked in and just caught the man run up on his son. I don’t think he was in the building to see the man’s mannerisms before hand.

It looks as if the little boys abrupt approach to the counter freightened the man, so that was his reaction.

As a parent, your first reaction to is protect your child. We are truly animalistic in nature, I’m like the Mama Bear with my son, I want to go after anyone who is threatening to him. As a split reaction, I wouuld have done the same thing. Maybe not punched in the face, but my hands would have been on him.

the father didn’t look he just reacted bcz he was protecting his son. he wasn’t thinking that the white boy had down syndrome…he just saw the kick and went into protect mode. a parent has to protect his child. i’m not saying it was right to punch dude out but the mother needs to watch her child (the white boy with down syndrome) if he has a history of this. don’t let your guard down mom.

Also, I agree with those of you who say the mother should have had her son in check. At his age, I can pretty much bet money that this isn’t his first time displaying this agression. She should have had some precautionary measures in place (i.e. a leash, had him standing right by her side…not wandering behind her, or left his behind at home if he don’t know how to act). And if he’s so mentally challenged, what the hell is he doing with a cell phone. He knows how to push buttons on a telephone, but he doesn’t know not to go around kicking little children. Please!!

Personally, I probably would’ve done the same thing or gotten in his face. Emphasis on the former. When I see other kids my son’s age do that I want to whoop their asses with a belt, I would hate to think what I might do to an adult if he kicked at my baby. I ain’t mad at the brother at all. She should’ve kept her son in check. But that’s how parents can be in this country. They let their kids do whatever. They don’t give a shit. Kids will have mental issues or health issues, they don’t know what the fuck is going on until the kids shows up at the mall with a shot gun.

Is that phone he’s on real? If so, he’s capable of taking a phone call,walkin away from his mother to take the phone call? then turns to kick the little boy? Little boy should of kicked him back! LOL the father did not have to do that though! I know he was protecting his son but he should of called the police first, and his mother should have been watching him, and besides its all on tape! The father didn’t have to pop, lock and drop dude like that! LOL But then again, yes he did. LOL Ain’t no tellin’ how many times this man/boy has done this. I know some ppl who are “mentally challenged” whether it be downs’d or autistic and they don’t just run up and kick folks. That mother probably lets him get away with that crap in the household and he slipped up and let it get outside the gates, this time it was with the wrong person. Lesson learned.

Since when do autistic people talk on the phone? obviously he has a mild case of autism. Parents who care about their Children would react the same way this man did point blank. If he kicked my child they would have to pull me off that so called “autistic man.”

HOnestly, i think most of us would have done the same thing. Yeah, the kick wasn’t that bad, BUT, whose to say he wasn’t gone follow up with another hit or attack? I think to say the least i would have immediately stepped to his ass, now whether or not i hit him is highly questionable, cause more than likely i would have knocked his ass out just like daddy did. Sorry, if that makes me a monster. But i probably would have kicked him too while he was done on the ground.

I don’t blame the dad. All he saw was someone assault his child and he reacted to protect his child as he should have. At least he didn’t go further like he probably intended to. It seems that once the woman explained about the guy the dad let it go but he was probably still ticked. If the woman wanted to press charges let her, then the son would have gotten charged too and she might have been investigated to see if she can properly care for him.

I’m somewhat torn with this video. I clearly could not tell that something was wrong with that man on the phone. But Dad did come in swinging very hard for what appeared to be a soft kick. But hey, who knew a kick would be soft… A kick is just that. A KICK. Can we help that Dad gives a hell of a punch when he feels the need to defend his child? Had he known the person on the phone had Downs Sydrome I’m sure he would not have come at him that strong. But he had no way of knowing. In his defense he was simply protecting his child. I do feel bad for the man on the phone because he is helpless… But his mom or guardian should have been watching him if she wasn’t sure he could control himself…
And why exactly did he kick the child? In a normal environment he clearly deserved to be punched. But Down’s syndrome is not a normal child. I’m sorry for all involved. We live and we learn.

Even if something was wrong with the young man the mother should’ve kept the young man by her side or even held his hand. I can understand why the father did what he did. That young man towered over the little boy and that was all the father saw. His parental instincts kicked in and all he could do was protect his son and himself because he didn’t know what to think. He did lay off once the woman said something (she could have been explaining that something is wrong with him). Yes it’s said the world has turned violent but most of the tragedies that are happening today are to our children.

I don’t know if the dude has down syndrome. I have never seen a person with down syndrome chatting it up on a cell phone. Either way, I would have reacted the same way if an adult had kicked my child.

It looked like the little boy WAS afraid. He took a few steps back right before his dad (or whoever) intervened. As a mom, I probably would have cussed the boy & the mom out. Hopefully neither party was hurt to bad and he should think twice before raising his foot at anyone. Who knows Sandra, maybe this young man was taught NOT to like/respect black people. Seems to me that kid was probably in the habit of kicking people so maybe his mom should have WATCHED him. That’s a big boy. A kick from him would hurt. Down Syndrome or not he probably needs a good smack. Maybe he won’t be kicking on little kids anymore.
