Cops: Lyfe Was Looking For Baby Mama When Busted

Two months ago, I posted an email from an industry insider, who detailed the ongoing drama between Lyfe and his wife/manager, Joy Bounds, with whom he has two sons.
But, as usual, some my readers doubted my source.
According to the AJC, Chester was searching for his wife (probably to do her great bodily harm) when he was busted early Sunday on gun charges. Atlanta’s industry elite are well familiar with Lyfe and Joy’s trials and tribulations.
According to an arrest warrant, Jennings kicked in the door of a residence on Springwoods Drive in Smyrna while looking for Bounds. The police were called after he fired a single shot in the street outside the home.
Jennings led police on a brief car chase which ended when he crashed his Corvette. Cuts and abrasions he sustained in the accident are visible in Jennings’ mugshot.
Police say Jennings’ breath reeked of alcohol. He refused a sobriety test and was booked on gun charges, trespassing, driving under the influence, and evading arrest.
Jennings posted a $50,000 bond on Monday. During concerts, Jennings often talked about finding Jesus and his recovery from alcohol abuse.
Joy Bounds was a few years older than Jennings. Friends say she used her savvy and experience to trap him into marriage (much like Tameka Foster trapped Usher). But that ring on Jennings’ finger didn’t stop Jennings from straying repeatedly.
In between creeping, Jennings threatened Bounds with physical violence. He didn’t reserve his violent ways for his wife only: one of his mistresses — a popular blogger — still has the threatening text messages he sent her during their fling.
Though he could be abusive when he was drunk, Jennings doted on his children. Three months ago, Jennings hired a well-known Atlanta event planner to throw an extravagant birthday party for one of his sons.
Jennings paid over $10K for the star-studded child’s party. Jennings is allegedly awaiting the birth of two out-of-wedlock children by groupies.

A chick that would purposely go out of her way to “trap” a nucca like this cannot expect for him to walk the straight and narrow simply because she was stupid enough to want his government name! Sadly, his azz is probably going back to the pokey in light of all his foolish antics…!! I will never understand the allure of jail/penatentiary (sp)…!

Wow … this story as the top news story is so sad. Drug and alcohol abuse can really lead to life threatening conditions for people. Whether its death, domestic violence, poor living conditions or a hazardous/dangerous enviornment for kids.
I listened to Lyfe’s 1st album and loved it … saw him perfom live and was won over. I pray that he can get the alcohol issue along with all other internal issues. I can see this becoming more messy and spiraling out of control, with children involved.
And I hate when people use the term trapped … if anything
married and with more kids on the way (if that is true) = more drama and if he can’t cope/deal with life on life terms than he needs to retreat and a find a new way.

Beyond crazy, I don’t understand how/why people can not stay out of trouble, when they know the consequences. Its liek being rational goes out the window when you are making more $ then the common folk.

I have met Joy and Lyfe on serveral occassions (even have pics posted on my myspace). Of course he has never admitted to being married to her, he’d always refer to her as his boys mom. I am not surprise that this happend, because even though he denies her in public, I know for a fact that she is the only woman he truly wants. She doesn’t mind the rumors of the “other so-called preggos”, she is the woman he sings about. I am praying for them because its definitely more to it than what’s being release. But Lyfe no betta than this!

The news report clearly stated that he has a history of trying to fight this woman and sending her threats. I think all participants of domestic violence are disturbed, I mean how is it that 2 grown people are not able to express themselves without hitting each other? I hope he does get some help, seems like he has some nice messages in his music.

i am feeling teecee. cause if you do more than 18 months then you become suspect in my book….BUT my cuz did 4 years and after 9 months he signed up and got approved for work release…..and comes to find out after the fact, his wife was meeting him 3-4 times a week for 3 years to make SURE his azz did not end up “married to Malique ”

I have never been in a violent situation … I mean I have yelled and hit but never hit back …. anger/frustration/disappointment and hurt feelings will get you in some ISH quick, I just HOPE they can work through it if its salvageable. At this rate though he is probably headed to the clanker L

Damn, why couldn’t the man have just married the woman he loved? Why does it have to be a trap? Anyway, it looks like a tragedy was diverted here. I’m so glad he didn’t find his wife and I bet he is glad as well because he could be spending the rest of his life in prison. If she knows what’s good for her she will get out of the marraige and get a restraining order. It’s just not a good sign when your drunken husband is looking for you with a gun.

You are very right about the how things appear, but the fact is he went round there with a gun in the car and her door was kicked in. That’s on the police report, so that is the part I was disappointed about. I hate guns, and to bring them around your kids drunk? (which was also a fact due the test he failed)
