The Media and Obama’s Mission To Destroy Joe The Plumber

The media is on a mission to destroy Joe Wurzelbacher, the man affectionately known as “Joe The Plumber,” who had the audacity to ask Sen. Barack Obama a question that exposed him for what he really is.

The senator, in a classic “gotcha” moment, forgot that cameras were rolling when he opened his mouth and stuck his foot in it.

Everything that critics said about Obama came tumbling off his tongue. It was almost as revealing as when Obama said “an ACORN doesn’t [oh shat pause] fall far from the tree…”

The media responded by furiously digging into Joe’s background to unearth every unsavory detail to discredit him. They learned that Joe The Plumber isn’t even a licensed plumber at all — as if that’s supposed to mean something.

In some states plumbers can work without a license as long as they are working under a licensed plumber. But why is that even an issue here? Joe is not running for public office. The man asked Obama a simple question. God forbid that you or I should ask Obama a question that he’s not fully prepared to answer.

Now Joe The Plumber is accused of being a Republican plant — as if the Republicans knew that Obama would walk down that particular street in Ohio while Joe was in his yard playing football with his kid.

But common sense aside, Obama is the Emperor and Joe had the unmitigated gall to tell him he had no clothes on. So now Joe must pay the ultimate penalty: his life must be destroyed.

Sandra Please! It makes sense that the strong should carry the infermities of the weak. In layman’s term if you earn more money it’s easier and more beneficial for the economy if you paid a little more taxes than those who make less, and the sad part is that people are complaining when it’s only like a 2% tax hike. It’s difficult for the low-middle class to make ends meet and a tax break is certainly needed. It’s unfortunate what happened to Joe, but if in the state where he lived he was suppose to have a license then he should have had one, but the funny part is that his employer doesn’t even have a license. I seriously doubt if Obama had anything to do with the media investigating him, someone would have done the same thing if they thought that he was an Obama supporter. Bottom line is that he knew that he wasn’t licensed so instead of giving interviews claiming that he’s not going to reveal who he’s voting for and saying everything except I’m voting for McCain he should have had his ducks in a row. Don’t blame Obama, blame Joe the Plumber and McCain for putting him on blast.

Sandra, did you watch the debate??? I guess not because it was McCain who first brought up Joe during the debate to make his point about Obama policy on raising taxes. So if anyone is at fault it was McCain; he could have easily used an example and not say the name. Only an idiot would think that the media wouldn’t track down this Joe guy. No surprise though because he chose Palin. It wouldn’t bother me so much if McCain chose a more qualified VP and he won but since he chose her… well that made it easier to decide who to vote for.

McCain kept talking about “Joe the plummer” so of course they wanna know who he is? That’s his dumb fault for granting him an interview as a Republican representee. This is a funny story. Instead of unveiling this story for what it actually was, a Replican destroy tactic, you’ve decided to blame Obama for doing absolutely nothing wrong. He answered the question honestly, why shouldn’t Joe (Sam) the plumber pay more taxes if he is making more money; Obama’s tax plan hasn’t been a secret…if you make more than $250K you will pay a 3% higher tax rate! Is it fair that the low and middle class working Americans continue to get the short end of the stick! I guess we should all just regret the fact that we aren’t multi-millionaires (oops my fault billionaires) who with McCain as our President would do nothing but continue to flourish!
The most ironic thing about this is “Joe” was so concerned with paying more in taxes, but he doesn’t even pay his current taxes and he can’t own his own plumbing business without being a licensed plumber. Why should he be let off the hook, he didn’t just ask Obama a question! He decided to start doing interviews with the mainstream media in an attempt to blast Obama for his new tax plan…why shouldn’t democrats respond! He’s been allowed to voice his opinion in an attempt to sway votes to the Republican party; why shouldn’t the same be granted to any Democratic supporter? This is a classic case of a McCain tactic gone extremely bad; next time he should make sure his golden egg isn’t a gold plated shame!!

Sandra, you’re right — you don’t have to give equal time to both presidential candidates as you aren’t a journalist. But, your outright disdain for Obama is a bit troubling. Is it your mission to show all Obama supporters that he is somehow a fraud and not a messiah as you probably think we all believe? Because it isn’t working. Especially, when you post things like this that can easily be explained. Your interpretation of the supposed media witch hunt of ‘Joe the Plumber’ isn’t substantiated on the facts, but rather your obvious dislike of Obama. Trust, honey, we know he is a fallible human being; however, he also happens to be a man who for the most part appears to be on the side of the common man and wants the government to work for the interests of the people vs. big business.

As others have written, McCain thrust the spotlight on ‘Joe the Plumber’ NOT Obama. Obama answered the man’s question and has been consistent in his responses regarding his tax proposal. Obama nor McCain told the media to investigate ‘Joe the Plumber’; however, given the fact that ‘Joe the Plumber’ was repeatedly mentioned by McCain during the 3rd presidential debate, MSM is going to do what it does best — hunt for a story. And, what a story they found.

I agree with this statement Sandra.. however I am inclined to vote Democrat 1) because my 8 year old wants me to since he can’t vote and he’s aspiring to be the black president of his generation and 2) because he seems more HUMANE ( not sure if that ‘s the word I want to use). On my happynappyhead blog I don’t give two sides because I am not a neo-con. I slam them with all my might. With that said, I try to stick it to them with facts, not propaganda and I think that’s where people get irritated. I also tend to go from my POV. No one can tell me how to feel, so writing that way usually keeps the peace. I too thought off visiting this site less frequently because of what I consider to be unfair, unmerited attacks on our race as a whole, not just obama, but sheree and others……. Poor Joe… He is probably going to lose his J-O-B as his boss is supposed to have an apprenticeship license for any that work under him. The Ohio department that oversees that has already issued a statement that they will be fining the company as there is no apprenticeship license on file for Sam aka “Joe the Plumber. Also, Sam inflated the company’s earnings by $100k. Another fact that has been released by the Ohio State GV. Tax records reflected a total revenue of $180k. Also, tax records showed that Sam only earned $40k last year, plus with the liens and back taxes does not make him an attractive borrower to purchase a business where he would be required to me licensed in the State of Ohio. AND to put the cherry on it, several sites have already referenced the fact that if they went with the same scenario that Sam fabricated, he would actually have an increase of only $900.
Sandra, I agree that you have the right to say whatever you want on your blog, but, is it so much to ask to present all of the facts and not label Sen Obama as the fall guy for what is clearly being seen as another republican scheme to disenfranchise the independent voters. As usual, Sen McCain resorted to grandstanding and political pandering and DID NOT have his STAFF verify what this guy was saying. Even “Joe the Plumber” should have vetted before invoking him as a classic example of what COULD possibly HAPPEN if you are a small business owner (like myself) and Sen Obama is elected president. Unlike Joe, I actually did the research of how my business would possibly be affected and it doesn’t change the fact that the more money I make, the more I pay in taxes.
Joe’s problems:
1. Proclaiming himself to be something he’s not (a small business owner) nor in a financial position to possibly acheive.
2. Proclaiming himself a plumber when his boss is required by Ohio state law to have an apprentices license.
3. Said owner of the actual plumbing business will probably receive a fine for failure to keep accurate records and will probably get audited.
4. Angry about a tax increase when he as failed to even pay his taxes and has a tax lien obn his property.
I’m just saying…. You might want to think before you open your mouth, Sam.. er, Joe.. There are consequences, whether good or bad, for the choices you make. Joe chose to be confrontational about an issue that he clearly wasn’t in complete grasp of the knowledge AND he allowed it to get on camera so that it can haunt him. Nothing wrong with hopes and dreams but he should have couched his statements as such instead of presenting them as facts.
I get it Sandra, there is something about Sen Obama that just rubs you the wrong way. It happens..

While rich folks taxes went down…

Writing an article to explain the and excuse Joe the plumber is ridiculus. this is a man who was okay being in the spotlight until he was checked out. This is a man who is not licensed and has not paid his taxes in quite sometime. Sandra the more you comment on Black america, the more your true self comes out. Did you think that by giving us some gossip and celebrity pictures that we would go easily to your darkside? While it is true we are all entitled to our opinion, your’s spews constant negativity and hatred. Sandra you are correct..this is your blog and your opinion. Yet this is the FIRST time I have read that you don’t like either. This is why I said what I did, i’m not trying to censor you or anything of that nature. however, based on what you were writing you did seem extremely biased towards one when both have issues. That’s all I was stating, now that I know you hold them both in the same category fine,,but let’s be real..you came off completely ignoring mcCain and his antics on this blog..if barack sneezed wrong you were on it..it only made sense for me and others to feel you were biased..no issues as a family we agree to disagree..it is what it is

On the Joe Wustlacker issue. Yes he need to be destroyed because he is a liar. How can you question someone on issues when they don’t even pertain to you? McCain says they will fight for Joe. What does that mean, not paying your taxes, not having to have a license and just basically making ish up. I am with that. Of course you will have to look at someone’s history just like everybody is digging in everybody else’s history. They are bringing Bill Ayers history up. Yes what he did is retarded but what does that have anything with Obama? Obviously the University he works knows about his past and doesn’t have a problem why would anybody else have it?

Danny, be for real. You have never seen me ban anyone for having an opinion that differs from mine. People disagree with me all day long and they have that right. I only ban people for being completely disrespectful, and usually after another member emails me to complain about it.

As for Joe being a liar, OMG, are you serious? Lol. The man asked a simple question about how Obama’s tax plan would affect him IF he bought a business! He didn’t say he was making $250,000 a year. He said IF he bought a business that made $250,000 a year!

So he can’t ask a simple question because he has a tax lien??? The man works as a plumber. How is he lying? First he said Ayers was just someone he knew “from the neighborhood.” Then it turns out he worked with the man for 8 years in the CAC and the Woods foundation! Then he said he never worked with ACORN at all. Then it turns out he not only worked with ACORN, but he donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to ACORN and helped train ACORN members. Then he changed his website to reflect that he was never “hired by ACORN”. Did he represent ACORN for free as their attorney?

He says he’s going to cut taxes for 95% of Americans. Really? He voted for tax increases in his 3 years as a senator in Chicago. He has never voted for tax cuts as a senator and Chicago has the highest sales tax of any city in the United States at 10.25%! But I guess that’s just a coincidence huh?

Yet you really believe he’s going to cut taxes if he is elected president? LOL. You are really in serious denial! Unless you’re a Muslim or a terrorist who hates this country like Ayers, Obama doesn’t give a damn about you. If you really want to know what Obama thinks about the small business owner or the working stiffs, just look at how he’s treating Joe The Plumber just for asking him a simple question.
