It looks like Alicia Keys is tired of other artists — in particular Beyonce — jacking her ideas. According to Singersroom, AK is set to re-release her “I Am” platinum selling disc as a ‘Super Edition’ double disc just in time to compete with Beyonce’s sales.
As you know, Bey is releasing her CD titled “I Am” as a double disc sometime next week. Bey’s disc also features a black & white image of a bare faced Bey on the cover as Alicia’s CD did. The disc will include 5 songs recorded by AK in London.
Featuring the popular unreleased song “Savior,” the Super Edition of “As I Am” ends up being a double disc package.In addition to “Savior,” the audio disc features “Another Way To Die” (from the 2008 Bond film, Quantum of Solace) and ‘Doncha Know (sky is blue)’.
The second disc, a DVD, features five songs recorded in London earlier this year. Live versions of “You Don’t Know My Name,” “Superwoman,” “Teenage Love Affair,” If I Ain’t Got You,” and Keys’ hit single “No One” are all included.

akeys is a borderline musical genius. she is a prolific song writer and anyone who plays an instrument (piano for her…) hats off to them. she may not be an all around performer like mrs. carter, but she is a better musician than she is. even though she could be a homewrecker i still love her….

As I Am is ONLY going to be released in the UK (which is why it has a Friday release date just like the Diary Of Alicia Keys re-release). Alicia does not support it nor has she been promoting it. The TV rounds she’s been doing is the promote her Black Ball tonight. This is the doing of Song/BMG. I mean who the heck re-releases an album with one ONE new record and 2 Soundtrack records? lol They think they slick.

@Naima … I will go out on a limb and say I agree with you 80% …. I like A Keys YES but I do think some of the songwriting is nursery rhyme themed too -somewould call it simplicity but when I listen to Jazmine Sullivans’ work as simple as the lyrics are many of them have serious depth.

I knew the Jerkins family and used to attend His father’s church when Rodney was just a baby .. playing the keyboard at the age of 8-9 and hung out with his brother Freddie from time to time .. so I’ll ALWAYS be partial to Rodney Jerkins just beacuse he was SUCH a cute lil boy and his Uncle Sang the Roof down one sunday when he sang Amazing Grace.
i think for me, it may be the classical piano accompaniment that sometimes comes along with the nursery rhyme songs, that may have me fooled.

Anyone who thinks Alicia’s lyrics are “nursery rhymes” have obviously only heard the singles they play on the radio. Listen to Savior or some of the other non released songs she has and then tell me she writes nursery rhymes.

THe album is I am Sasha Fierce. Now according to this fool, beyonce is the natural, shy down to earth (yeah right) one. So these covers might make sense. I knew the “I Am” title was jacked but I semi gave it a pass when I heard about the alter ego thing and it being a double disc, but I FORGOT that A Keys did the black and white photo on the cover too…wth? Lol it’s one thing to copy but to BLATANTLY copy is annoying. It’s been said that a lot of people copy, but to do it so soon? @Naima…I agree…like WHERE did she get the inspiration to write teenage love affair? Honestly it’s not even her lyrics….I lied…it’s a combo of her lyrics AND the music. My favorite song by her is “You don’t know my name” and that’s prob. cause Kanye produced it. Don’t get me wrong…when Bey actually writes it doesn’t have much substance either….the songs she doesn’t write usually does.

After listening and dozing off listening to some of bey’s songs she’s gonna have to do more than appear on every dam magazine cover to push this mess.
As for the comparison, they are not on the same level; talent or vocals. They both can sing but keys has creativity whereas bey just recycles whats already been out there.
