As predicted, Barack Obama named Valerie Jarrett as his senior adviser to the White House. I have no clue who Jarrett is other than she was senior adviser to Obama while he campaigned for president, and she co-chaired his transition team.
The mainstream media has already dug up dirt on Jarrett, but dirt doesn’t seem to stick to the Teflon Dems these days:
According to the documents obtained by Judicial Watch from the Illinois Secretary of State, Valerie Jarrett served as a board member for several organizations that provided funding and support for Chicago housing projects operated by real estate developers and Obama financial backers Rezko and Allison Davis. (Davis is also Obama’s former boss.) Jarrett was a member of the Board of Directors for the Woodlawn Preservation and Investment Corporation along with several Davis and Rezko associates, as well as the Fund for Community Redevelopment and Revitalization, an organization that worked with Rezko and Davis.(According to press reports, housing projects operated by Davis and Rezko have been substandard and beset with code violations. The Chicago Sun Times reported that one Rezko-managed housing project was “riddled with problems — including squalid living conditions…lack of heat, squatters and drug dealers.”) Source
Now Rezko’s cooling his heels in the federal pen, while the ones who got away scott free will be running Washington in 67 days.

Not one bit surprised either. I knew it wasn’t the ‘who’ but the ‘when’ V.Jarrett was getting the post. She’s a well-known Chicago personality is also considered one of Obama’s closest insiders & confidantes.
She’s a much respected business lady with a very good ethic. Folks say she’s very reliable & is also a niece to Vernon Jordan (yes, that Vernon Jordan), so her roots and connections run deep.

I have not read that President Elect Obama has made any appointments other than his Chief of Staff. As for her affiliation with Rezco, what does that mean? Are we to believe that everyone who worked for, with or around him is dirty? Barack is associated with him too and we elected him president. The naysayers are going to have to come better than that.
She is intelligent, well educated and beautiful…not to mention the fact that, she was the mastermind and momentum behind the most successful bid for presidency in election campaign history. No one can deny the efficiency of the Obama campaign. Most Republican pundits are admitting how flawless the campaign was run and Jarret was THE go to woman. Not only would she be an excellent addition to his cabinet should she be appointed, she would also be an excellent role model for young girls throughout the country. The Obama campaign returned all funds donated from Rezko, and while all allegations against him were proven to be true in a court of law, I am sure that no campaign can vet all of it’s supporters and their business dealings. If they had looked into the backgrounds and considered the associations of all of us who contributed and volunteered in this campaign, he would have been broke because everyone has or will have dealt with someone others would consider undesireable. Obama, Emanuel, Clinton - they are politicians and people will always try to “get in where they can fit in” with them, especially when they have ulterior motives. No one in their positions can possibly know the “hearts and minds” of someone who endears himself to he or she to create a relationship with undertones of political motives, therefore, as long as none of them have been convicted of crimes, only the guilty should be in jail. Rezko was the one found guilty, and guilt by association is illegal in the US. Jarrett is just, as if not more, qualified and deserving of a position in his cabinet…after all, Palin was “qualified” to be VP in the minds of others despite all of her shady dealings and her husband’s relationship and connections to a successionist organization cliaming to despise the US government. It’s amazing how this still flys under the radar.

@ Bird. Yes we do know who the Chief of Staff is. I am waiting for the Sec. of State pick, It’s between Hillary and Bill Richardson. As much as Hillary wants to reamin a New York Senator she would better fare by being Sec. Of State. If President-Elect picks Bill Richardson he would also be a good choice and another history maker, not only is Mr. Richardson experienced for the job but will be the first Latino hired for the job (of Sec. of State.) Our next President is picking his/our ‘dream team’, to clean Our Country up. Our next President is going to have a metting with McCain on Monday, there may even be a job for him. The race for The White House was longer than usual and exhausting to watch and punches were hit below the belt but at the end of the day, there is no love lost in politics and like her or hate her if Obama seeks out Palin for advice(aside from her non knowledge of birth control, extra martial affairs and abortion is not an option views)she knows the ends and outs of “drill baby drill”. We can’t alsways have it “our way”, but we do need the help and pieces and parts of others ideas for America to get back on track.
Lets give the man and his administration a chance to take shape and make a few decisions before we condemn him! My goodness, everyone doesn’t have to like the fact that he won the election but suck it up. I didn’t like when Bush won but I had to deal with it. And in actuality, once he won, I just hoped he would do a wonderful job b/c I would be affected one way or another.
Surprise! I am affected but not for the better. So now lets give Obama a chance to get us on the road to improvement. He’s not going to be able to “fix” all of our problems but if he’s supported, he’ll be motivated to do as much as possible.

Obama was elected by the people of Illinois to make a difference in Illinois and all he did was vote ‘present’ on 130 issues that he didn’t care about. If he wasn’t happy with a bill he could have voted ‘no.’ Obama is one of those men who only cares about having a title. Once he was voted president of the Harvard Law Review, he did NOTHING. He was the first Harvard Law Review president in history who didn’t even turn in one article. Once he got in the senate, he did NOTHING. He is a one-term junior senator in a state with the highest crime rate and the highest taxes in the country. But we are expected to believe he can turn this country around? Lol. No she wouldn’t. There are two reasons why Hillary will not be sec. of state: 1) because she will have more power over Obama if she remains in the Senate. And, 2) she will ruin her chances of running for president in 2012 if she accepts the position.
Obama is not seriously considering Hillary because he knows she will get more media attention over the next 4 years than he will. And if I know my narcissists, he will never put Hilary in a position to take his shine!
So why is he floating her name around as a potential appointee? To take the attention off of Palin, of course. I’m sure Obama thought Palin was going to go back to Alaska after the election was over. But her popularity is gaining momentum and the media is giving her more coverage than they are giving him right now.
