Obama’s Grandmother Passes Away
Sen. Barack Obama’s grandmother has passed. I’m sure Michelle Obama feels badly for not accompanying her husband to Hawaii to say her goodbyes.
Barack Obama’s grandmother, who helped raise the Democratic presidential candidate in Hawaii, passed away Monday after a prolonged battle with cancer. Madelyn Dunham, 85, had been gravely ill for weeks, prompting Obama to interrupt his campaign for a few days last month to visit her in Honolulu, Hawaii.“She was the cornerstone of our family and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength and humility,” read a statement from Obama and his half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng. “Our debt to her is beyond measure.” (Source)

So sad for Obama…I know he would have liked his Grandma to see him make history. She must be so proud of him. I guess she’s off to a better place. Obama has endured so much death in his family!
1 more day! I pray this isn’t a bad sign. In any event, I know that Obama is at peace that he was able to see her before she passed and didn’t put it off.

OFF TOPIC. . .Besides this blog, I visit DLISTED.COM (my #1 favorite off all time, sorry sandra!) Michael K., who is the blogger, also put up a post about Obama grandmother passing away. I was reading the comments and guess who was there talking sh!t as always. Sandra’s beloved Charles! At least I think it’s him. He is going by the name Charles Manson and I swear on my cheeto hot chips that it’s him. He’s saying that Obama should be assinated, same thing he said here and what got him banned!!!

I understand that you may not always agree with the opinions of your mostly Democratic subscribers, but it comes a point when we, as adults, have to put all childishness aside and respect–with all sincerity–a person’s loss. You spoke in a previous post about the “class” of Senator Obama but you’ve now contradicted yourself ironically by what you DIDN’T say. Out of all the things that could have been said–”From the staff at Sandrarose.com, we offer our deepest condolences, “I am saddened to report…”, heck even the the old standard “R.I.P.”– the only thing you could muster was a tasteless remark about Michelle Obama. My deepest sympathy to the OBAMA/Dunham familiy! But Sandra, why do you feel the need to point out a negative, like Michelle, not going, that is between him and his wife. That’s just petty. We must all remember that we will all lose someone in our live just like Barack and those same hurtful comments just might revisit us. His mother and grandmother both succumbed to cancer during pivotal times in his life. He now only has his sister in his life, his only connection to his roots, his childhood and his family unit. That is a bitter pill to swallow. Don’t worry Barack you have a large half- family in US.
Hermosa-you are so right! Bloggergirl, and I agree about that half-sister crap, they do it because they don’t look alike being petty, pointing out the broken family unit thing. They don’t call the MCcain children half-siblings.
When he does win tomorrow I know it is going to be emotional for me and his family. God always knows best.

wow…. im speechless…. the dig at Michelle obama was at the deep end of the pool…. that was his big mama and she was 86 yrs old and fighting cancer, i dont know what state she was in, but im sure she went with a smile on her face.
Wow. She survived long enough to see him surpass a level that no one expected any black man to transcend.

Michelle and the girls actually went to see “toot” thats here nickname weeks prior to Barack going. They knew her health was failing but it wasnt major news when she and the girls went for their visit. May she rest in peace and send her blessings to her grandson for a campaign that was well organize from the ground up…oh yeah…did i forget to mention that he was a “Community Organizer”…He has done very well with this campaign and getting people out to vote, sending text msg, the easy pay donations, very structured…We need this type of attention to detail person in office.

I pray that their family finds strength through this time. Losing someone close to you is a very hard thing. Sandra, I believe Barack wanted Michelle to stay behind and lead the fight for him. That’s what a real marriage is, even though she wasn’t physically there, I know she had his back. He stopped campaigning that week, and she picked up where he left off. I thank God I am able to see Barrack win the election today. Rip Madelyn Dunham.
