Sean Combs Uses Obama’s Name to Sell Cologne

Sean Combs is capitalizing on Barack Obama’s historic win to hustle his cologne “I Am King.”

The fragrance hits stores next month and Sean is hoping that it will resonate with the same people who voted for Barack Obama. “When you see Barack Obama, you see a strong, elegant black man and when people see my ad, it’s almost like that’s the trend,” he told The Wall Street Journal.

The paper adds that Diddy plans to promote the fragrance in a lunch he will hold in Los Angeles and on TV talk shows and link his new fragrance and Obama.

We’re wondering if Obama will request a cut of the sales proceeds since Sean is pimping his name to sell the cologne.

Lol Diddy has BEEN on this I am King thing but I think he’s just really excited about Obama winning…you know he’s always trying to be the best at what he does…maybe he admires BO’s swag….I don’t think he’s trying to capitalize on his name though.

saying his name in an interview and actually placing his name in tv or print adds are different.

Diddy, Sean, whatever he’s called today doesn’t discriminate. He has used the twins. So if you’ll use your kids why not everyone else. He has ignored on of his daughters like she doesn’t even exist. Diddy is all about himself.

It’s funny that Diddy tries to put himself in the sam category as Obama. This quote makes no damn sence. When I see Diddy, I don’t see a strong black, elegant man.

    Somebody told you wrong Diddy!

He was on 106 and Park the day after elections talking about how it’s time for black men/ women to step up in life.

    His points on there were:
    Aim higher
    Start showing up on time
    Take care of your family
    Have Standards

As much as he makes my azz itch, he was right this time. It is time for us as a race to reclaim the dignity and pride in ourselves that our forefathers had. I’m on board with this message but he need to practice what he preach.

Stop tricking with all these women and having babies all over the place. Stop acting a clown. Stop having so many parties and start producing quality music. Claim ALL of your kids and put ALL of them in your magazine shoots.

    @Hermosa

I agree if Diddy were a strong, elegan blackman he would have married Kim Porter instead of disrespecting her in public. Diddy sit back and STFU. Grow up…. Your star fades more everyday

Diddy is actually a stereotypical “Average” man to me….

He has a slew of children running around, ain’t never been married…Got kids that he knows he fathered but half a$$ claims them

Stay out at the club…flashy and constantly flossing rings and watches filled with rocks.

Dumped his baby momma for some random chick, who in turn, dumped him. Ran back to the baby momma…

I need him not compared himself to the Chosen one…

@9 It is time for us as a race to reclaim the dignity and pride in ourselves that our forefathers had.——————- You know this was something that was said in the 80′s when Jesse Jackson ran for President, in the 90′s after Rodney Kings beating, It was said when Jan 1, 2000 hit because of the new millennium …As much as I would love for our people to stand up with pride, dignity and demand respect it’s not going to happen because Mr. Obama has been elected. The down fall to black people is black people, this is something that would have to start at home not in the white house

And Diddy is a swagger jacker, he’s with whatever he thinks is going to make him some more money…H*ll 3 of the 4 points he doesn’t do himself…

@ 12.. i totally agree. I’m not saying that because Barack was elected this is the way we need to act.

But…. everybody’s motivation/ inspiration is different. For many people, Barack created one of those lightbulb moments.

My whole point is not the message but the MESSENGER. Puff has a point and someone need to start reaching out to the black comm’ty and try to encourage good things instead of always being on some dumb shyt… like sippin on syrup, making it rain on hoez, etc. The point is Puff need to practice what he preach.

I look at Diddy’s ad and see a womanizing man-whore, not a king, and I’m sure the cologne smells like the stench of 3 baby mama’s and five different lots of breast milk. EWWWW.

    Deep Thoughts says:

So being a strong, elegant Black man is a trend. lol or should it be a state of being, something to strive to be as you become a man? Diddy is one of the biggest jokes of this generation. None of his actions point to being a strong Black Man. Unless you think money translates to that. And God has already shown us it doesn’t.
