from a personal stand point almost every larger sized lady i know is loud…but more of the life of the party…not insecure so much….
only know ONE quiet as a mouse larger lady and that is my mother in law. and i am convinced the ONLY reason that heffa is so quiet is b/c she is busy thinking of new ways to beat folks outta some money. scheming. she NEED to get up and exercise and dance. sending my husband this video and title it “a hint for your mammy…..”

@divinebrown, I tend to agree with that too. I think people who are loud and aggressive and just overcompensating and deflecting attention from their shortcomings. Monique could not sell me that crap about being proud to be a big girl; the way she made sly comments about slimmer people just spoke to how insecure she was about her size.
Its not just about size either, people who are bullies are often projecting their insecurities on other people and act crazy to distract others from the truth

i applaud them alright…cute little routine, however they need to lose some of that damn weight…was that a split? damn, i’m glad i’m not that carpet…they were barely moving…they should’ve really gotten into it AND consider making it apart of their exercise routine…horny little (i meant big) devils…

I know plenty of skinny chicks that’s loud and ignant. Ain’t nobody saying that they are loud because they’re skinny. My sister is a big girl and is not this loud and attention seeking person you speak of. Everyone seeks attention in their own way. She knows she needs to lose weight but exudes confidence authentically. (dressing her azz off, keeping her wig B U S T E D, and having jokes for days)
I happen to be the loud and aggressive one. AND AGAIN…I’m not this attention seeking person you have come in contact with. My mother is loud, my father is loud and all my uncles ARE LOUD! I’m loud because I can’t hear.
I think too many people are playing street psychologist and attempting to breakdown other people. The more comfortable you are with YOURSELF the less you notice about other people’s personality flaws. Loud and fat does not mean insecure, by any means of the word. That is a complete misconception on your part. Loud and fat is just that…loud and fat!
Americans are lazy..we get it. Heart disease is the #1 killer of American women…point taken. I wasn’t trying to start a soapbox..or a Sandra Rose Save-A-Life campaign. Sandra called them confident, I was trying to figure out how she got that of this mess. Entertaining, yes.

I have to say that I agree with you.
Loudness does compensate for insecurities sometimes. Cause sometimes if you really closely at a big loud woman sometimes they really look more uncomfortable when they are quiet. It’s like their being loud is their drug for assurance.

I have a cousin who was a REALLY BIG GIRL, I’m talking 6 feet, size 32 big. Funny as hell though! Wherever we went she was ALWAYS the life of the party..always jonin’ (I’m from DC) Keeping everything live. But on the real, she was really unhappy (lost a lot of weight, but hasn’t shed the issues). I learned that that was her defense mechanism. She won over the crowd, before people started making jokes about her, etc. I’m not saying that every big girl is insecure. I’m simply pointing out that the vast majority of those that are loud..that have to be seen, etc. are SERIOUSLY overcompensating.
So if every loud fat girl is loud bc of insecturities, then why are skinny women loud?
yes @ kym. she calls wed-friday and when he send her the $$ we don’t hear from her til the NEXT wed. the part that burns me UP is my husband is 1 of 7 chiren. and they HAVE a working child right there in the HOUSE with them. why she call us every week? to top it all off my FOL has no IDEA she getting the $$. a mess.i try to keep my head down.

Monique (that chick is a whole nother story) can say what she wants, the truth is the truth. I was the SKIN-T broad. The one who couldn’t fit a size DOUBLE ZERO….I HATED IT with a passion. I was 102lbs and could (still can) shut a buffet DOWWWNNNN! It was not all that it was cracked up to be. I’ve had ppl come across the INTERCOM at a gas station on a beautiful, sunny, spring Saturday morning and say (FOR ALL THE WORLD TO HEAR):
“YOU ARE TOOOOOO SKINNY”…..
Stopped me dead in my tracks! I cried all the way home. I HATED IT! I went as far as to write Oprah about my issue. (hey Op, if you reading this, call a sista – I got a story to tell you – LOL)
I in turn, snotted and cried til I was damn near “blue in the face” to my doctor to help me. She prescribed me an antihistamine. I gained 18lbs in a month. I was the happiest woman alive………….or so I thought….
I had ass and tits for days. You couldn’t tell me NUTHIN’. That was until, my cutty buddy (at the time) seen me and flat out said, you’re fat. Look at your face, look at your hips……….yall I was still in a size 2. Never seen him again…….EVER!
I am now happy. I love my weight and my size and I just want to say that:
THIN is NOT ALWAYS IN! I refuse to be as skinny as I once was. Eat right, say your prayers and stay fit and active. You will NEVER have anything to worry about.
Oh I am now 137lbs and I wear a size 6.
again i am loud cause i am country as all outdoors. we all loud in my fam. and i am 10/12. medium sized. and i used to be so skinny when i was growing up until about 3 years ago (i was on prednisone for my asthma and eczema and i literally went from a size 5/6 to a 12…in about 6 months) that i got teased endlessly about being a skinny minnie and olive oyl.
i was more insecure as what mo’nique would call a skinny heffa than i am as a size 10/12. i see classmates on the street and they are like…”dang…you SHOLE ain’t 100 lbs. no more.” LMAO.
my point is god makes us how he wants us. period.
if it is good enuff for the big guy it should be good enuff for society. i am happier as a 10/12 than i was when i was a 5/6.
and i was loud as hail as both.
my momma just came up here a few min. ago and told me she could hear my big mouf on the elevator with one of my co-workers….

I am 5’3 and I wear a size 6. I look a bit chunky but I like it lol. Now my daughter who is the same height wears a zero because the size 14 girl pants aren’t long enough and I can see her bones.

Periactin – a prescribed antihistamine
Cyphrohedadine (sp) is the generic name for it. It is used to treat anorexia and something about some Cushing syndrome or something.
I referred to them as crack pills. They had me eating things that I don’t/didn’t normally eat like potatoes, pasta, sweets (allllll the time), ice cream. I would fall asleep with a bowl of ice cream on my tits and a soyburger in my hand. I would wake up and brush the bread crumbs off my mouth and pick up where I left off at….real talk…..it was bad!

1 pill twice a day = 4lbs a week
Foods that you don’t normally eat, you might as well make a palate in the kitchen, between the stove and the refridgerator. I cried to my doctor for those pills (not knowing what I was up against), she sent me home. She told me there was nothing that she could do for me. I was having too many mood swings……come back in a week. A week later she was writing a script…..like it was the new super pill……..and it was.
I get the “you gained weight, you wear it well, very well” comment alllllllllll the time and i started taking those back in 2004′ish. Went to the Bahamas and had men coming out of the bushes on a sista. Saying (in that accent) “you got a fat ass.” LOL
My response: “Where we going to eat?” LOL

No, I was not fat and loud. I was never insecure..Please read back. And nope, I’m not skinny and quiet. I’m a size 10 and me. Always been assertive (not the same as aggressive) and confident. My friends say I’m the type that should come with theme music. Fat, healthy, or indifferent, that hasn’t changed.
Lmao @ these food stories. @ least there is a pill to make you fat. If I get my hands on that skinny pill. I’ll be so rich I wouldn’t have to worry about weight (which I am happy with)
My X use to always have something to say about my weight (mind you I had just had his kid) that was the only time I felt bad about my weight. But my bf now… loves me just as I am and for me @ least that’s all that matters. (Not that I need his approval bc I’m now more mature and comfy in my own skin)

When I was in high school I took Periactin liquid to help me gain weight too. The problem is the weight gain is a side effect of the drug and not all people experience the same side effects. So what works for you may not work for others. Also, the side effect wears off after awhile and you stop gaining weight. Additionally, Periactin will make you very sleepy because it’s an antihistamine.

keely, I thought that my 2 kids would give me weight. Dead wrong. I weighed LESS after the first one and went back to regular weight after number 2. HATED IT!!!
I HEART big girls,but they could have done better. Where was the actual dancing and the SPLIT….DEAD @ that split.
