50 Cents Asks “What Recession?”
The economy may be tanking, but rapper 50 Cent is still ballin’. Yesterday, Fiddy arrived in style at his London hotel. According to Splash News, Fiddy is not feeling the crunch as his 15 strong security team arrived in a stretched hummer and he arrived in a Rolls Royce. His security then managed to lock themselves out of the Rolls and had to use a coat hanger to get it open.

pryn…you said it all! Yesterday they cut 50 jobs in our office with no warning, and I knew it was coming but couldn’t say nothin’. I felt so bad to see it happen @ Christmas, then my hubby came in and said his co cut his Christmas bunus AND next years across the board raise! And I promptly cancelled our holidays plans and got to work. I’m thinking this time I was management, next time it will be management that takes a hit
we might be getting a juice post…anyway i feel you about a depression pryn. i can’t even bring myself to go to the grocery store anymore. it is heart breaking that the exact same things i bought last year is now $20-30 MORE. i mean we still eat the SAME stuff. wtf? i just give my husband a list and let him go. make him take the oldest so she can make sure he get the right brands but i don’t even know HOW i am gonna gather myself to go christmas shopping. i might do gift cards again and give the oldest cash and make hubby shop for lil mama. : (

That’s sad. And here I am WANTING another job. I will sit my lil arse right here and keep on doing what I do……minus the blogging it up on here non-stop. But I will continue to do my job. Do it well and NOT complain. There are so many out there that are less fortunate than I.

I am right there with you guys. We have a fake tree that I have not put up yet. It is 3 years old. If my kids get this puppy that will be it besides the one other gift a piece I brought a while back. Losing a job is sad especially at this time of year.
@ ecstracy, they are 4 and 3. We will still get them a few gifts that are inexpensive (luckily they are still young enough to appreciate anything that you give them), but I’m not sure about the tree and all the additional fixings. Also, Thanksgiving took a little more out of our pockets than expected due to unannounced guests and all.
@ pryn, yeah, I know your POV. And I agree, this is the worst time to lose your job. Even if not just for the Holiday reason – that is a HORRIBLE way to start the New Year.

I have a co-worker I love with all my heart, and all I could say are things like, girl, don’t buy that now. Last night she called me and cussed me out, and i couldn’t even gt mad. this is ALL SO SAD. it is being felt everywhere. my husband got cut back to local routes only. even though gas prices went down the company he works for has no work. local routes don’t pay not nothing. i am glad to have him home on the reg for the time being but we are having to rely mostly on my income right now.
and i work at the newspaper so no telling when/if my behind get sent home. then we will REALLY be up shyt creek. the oldest newspaper in colorado just announced if no buyer steps up by mid jan. it is closing. papers all over face the same thing. i look for something else everyday and just pray.

i thank God everyday that i have a job. i worked for GM a while back and can remember the line being stopped and everyone was given their pink slips without any warning. it was so sad watching grown men break down and cry not knowing how and when they could pay their mortgage or car notes. i never want to experience that again .

The key is to learn to do your job AND everyone elses (nobody wants a one trick pony), and never tell anyone you train all the tricks of the trade!

No lie. But then again he was homeschooled and we didn’t have a TV back then. he goes to Central State now and when he tells his friends that they all think he’s lying.

@118 when we had rounds 1, 2,3 of layoffs we had an extra security guard come in. we have one at the desk 24 hours but when that happened we had two…one patrolling the bldg and one at the desk.
