A Very Un-Merry Christmas

Before I begin, let me reiterate that I do not have any qualms with Muslims in general. What I do have a problem with is Barack Hussein Obama persistently lying about not being one.

Obama has surfed into the White House on a wave of lies. But I guess the color of his skin is more crucial to his supporters than honesty and integrity.

But back to the very un-Christmas card: in all my days I’ve never seen a black & white Christmas card. The words stark, bland, dull and boring are some of the adjectives that came to mind when I saw it.

But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, some Muslims do have a particularly detestable regard towards anything Christmas-y. According to a Muslim lawyer, Christmas is the “celebration of evil”.

‘In the world today many Muslims, especially those residing in Western countries, are exposed to the evil celebration [of] Christmas,’ he raged in a sermon broadcast on the internet.

Decorating the house, purchasing Christmas trees or having Christmas turkey meals are completely prohibited by Allah. [LINK]

The cleric then goes on to explain why Christmas is so offensive to him:

How can a Muslim possibly approve or participate in such a practice that bases itself on the notion [that] Allah has an offspring?

Every Muslim has a responsibility to protect his family from the misguidance of Christmas, because its observance will lead to hellfire.

‘Protect your Paradise from being taken away – protect yourself and your family from Christmas.’ [LINK]

This might explain why Obama and his family do not exchange gifts for Christmas, and why they are repairing to the sunny island of Oahu where they will remain ensconced in an expensive beach side rental mansion for the duration of the holidays — far away from any semblance or hint of Christmas.

Having said all that, I must say that I was astonished to read some of the comments yesterday from SR family members who had no clue that Obama plans to deliver a major presidential speech from an “Islamic capital” [LINK]. One reader even emailed me to berate me for not providing a valid source.

Silly me for thinking she could have looked that information up for herself instead of emailing me.

Reports of Obama’s plans to “reboot America’s image” by delivering a “major speech” in an Islamic capital [LINK] has been all over the news for weeks.

In an interview published Wednesday in the Chicago Tribune, Obama said such a speech would take advantage of “a unique opportunity to reboot America’s image around the world and also in the Muslim world in particular.”

Mr. Obama began defining how he intends to do that this week by discussing his plans to deliver a major speech in an Islamic capital, perhaps within the first 100 days of his presidency. [LINK]

Maybe I’m the only one who thinks that an American president delivering a speech in a Muslim capital in this post-9/11 era should not be a top priority — unless that president is a practicing Muslim, then that explains everything.

I really don’t see the big deal. So what if hes muslim and who cares if he lied about it. Lets be real, if at the very start of his campaign he said that he was a muslim do you really think he would have been elected president? Probably not! If it is true i could see why he would hide it but to me worrying about his religious beliefs are trivial..i want to see how he’ll get this economy out of the gutter.

Actually Obama needs to do everything he can to relieve tension between the Muslim world and Americans. And lets not forget that many Americans are Muslims (Obama is not one of them though Sandra). I hate the fact that Americans act like being Muslim is so Um-American. Muslims have died for this country in every major war including Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lovely X-mas card. As for him denying his possible religion I feel like he had to do what he had to do in order to lead the way. It’s the only way to make change sometimes. JMO. Besides, with the way whites perceive Muslims it’s impossible to change views of their negativity from the outside. Islam is the largest and fastest growing religion.

Why should Muslims rejoice or embrace a holiday which is clearly against their beliefs (as Muslims we do NOT believe Prophet Isa is the son of GOD) and just as you don’t celebrate Ramadan, Muslims do not celebrate Christmas! I guess there is no way Barack and his family are being responsible with their holiday greetings card…I guess the only correct card would be to acknowledge Christmas…SERIOUSLY Sandra…you do realize that there are many people who do NOT celebrate Christmas (i.e. Jewish, Chinese, Muslims, etc), but I guess you just wanted to focus on the Muslims. Lastly, why wouldn’t Barack want to give a speech in an Islamic country, shouldn’t we attempt to reconcile our differences and possibly get our country back to what it was before the war! Another thing if you knew anything about the Islamic faith, you’d know if Barack were truly Muslim he wouldn’t be claiming otherwise!

Although I’d love to go on and on with this subject, I’m tired of typing. I’ll just say this, Sandra, you should probably stick to what you are good at….talking about Beyonce’s lace front wigs!

Do you know what is really sad? Don’t get me wrong I don’t have anything with people having Christmas trees and exchanging presents,BUT that isn’t what Christmas is about! So what they don’t exchange presents and did I miss the Christmas tree section in the Bible! I think its a nice card but that is because I choose to see it that way. Its enough negativity in the world without me having to trying to blow things out of proportion on a regular.

For example my family is Apostolic and DO NOT celebrate Christmas….which is a very UN-muslim religion. They would NOT want a christmas card in the mail. There is even a verse in the bible that says do not do as the heathens for they cut the evergreen tree from the forest and deck it with silver and gold and etc…I wish I could provide the exact verse but LOOK IT UP…The true meaning behind christmas has NOTHING to do with GOD so Sandra please….let this man rest. You go out of your way to dig up dirt on him that isn’t confirmed just as other haters out there who have been trying to bring him down for years. I don’t understand the ignorance people have towards Islam or any religion that isn’t their own.

Muslims live in all parts of the world not just in the middle East. Islam is NOT a religion of terrorism, it is one of peace believe it or not. The Quran and the Bible are very similar, just worded differently. All religions take from the other, add, subtract…they are all man made.

Just because someone doesn’t celebrate Christmas in the American “buy me a bunch crap every year” tradition, doesn’t mean they are Muslim. The Obamas could be celebrating Kwanzaa, who knows, who cares.

I’ve studied all religions and none of them are better than the other. They are all unique and connected.

Look at all the acts of terror that have been committed in the name Christianity…slavery being a major one. The Klan called themselves Christians and that didn’t stop Blacks from practicing a religion that was forced upon them in this country.

Its time to let go of the muslim = terrorist mindset and realize its just evil individuals preying on ignorant individuals and using them to kill innocent people. And that goes against every religion known to man.

Well, I am baptist and haven’t had the Christmas spirit in 10+ years. I think it is WAY to materialzied for me. I like having all the food and singing Happy birthday Jesus and forget all the money spent on gifts. Oh, by the way that is what I do. In Sandra’s defense (suprisingly right?) in regards to the muslim background comments, she only keeps mentioning it because she is hinting at BO being the anti-christ. I truly don’t believe she really has an issue with any muslim or Islamic faith, but still to call him that at this point is very far-fetched. I usually don’t have much to say about the anti-Obama posts this is Sandra’s blog and she can do/say what she wants but I have to say that the hate on Obama going to Oahu (where he was raised) for Christmas is EXTREMELY petty. As a person who lived in Hawaii on the lovely island of Oahu for several years I must say that it will be impossible for the Obamas to “escape any semblance of Christmas” while vacationing there. Just because there isn’t cold weather and snow on the ground doesn’t mean Christmas isn’t being celebrated. What about countries in the southern hemisphere. It’s summer during Christmas in these places and all sunny and ish, but there is a season of Christmas.

Honestly, I doubt this is their Christmas Card. First they have on Summer Clothes on Green grass – who does that for a Christmas photo? Plus, anyone can do some photoshop.

Several weeks ago, I received the official Obama Holiday Video and they wished everyone a Happy Holiday. It was very nice & Christmasy. Am I the only one that saw it?

I LOVE Christmas. God gave me the gift of his Son. In celebration of that gift, I give gifts to others!! It is a beautiful thing.. I enjoy that this time of year is used to respresent the birth of my Lord and savior Jesus Christ!!!

Now, I do not believe the Obama card reflects or proves any type of religious bias on his part. It is rather inclusive for the different types of people in the world. I don’t care if he is Muslim or not but would care if he lied.

I don’t have a problem with him going to Hawaii (where he is from) for the holidays with his family. He jus ended a gruelling campaign annd lost his grandma (toot). Heck I would go to a luxury resort for the holidays as well, if I could afford it.

I love Christmas, as I previiously said, but I don’t have a tree up nor did I send out cards. On the surface, I may appear to be something other than the Christmas loving Christian that I am.. So your entire post was conjecture Sandra. No fact just your opinion.. But its your blog and a place for you to post you opinion.

I’m late on this one, but had to weigh in. That is the second card you have passed off as the official Obama holiday card. There is no reason for any of us to believe either of them is the actual card. Most folks don’t use summer pics for their winter holiday cards. Secondly, you know Barack is not Muslim and even if he were, what would be your problem with that? Thirdly, the issue we had with your statement was that you said Barack would make his FIRST major speech in a Muslim country. I don’t have a problem with him speaking there. Us Democrats think that we need to heal our relationship with our Muslim brothers and sisters. Unlike “conservatives” we are not all under the influence of our own racism.
