Good morning. I know I left you guys hanging yesterday after I put up that Morning Wood post. But I had to tend to some urgent business. I plan to make it up to you today though.

I thought we’d start off the day with a blast from the past: a classic photo of your president-elect Barack Hussein Obama puffing on a fat spliff.

Otherwise known as a joint, a blunt, weed, ganja, herb, hemp, bud, endo, sticky icky, mary jane, black, green, reefer, dank, dro, chronic, trees, hay, or simply pot.

Can’t you just picture Barry Soetoro back in his college days puffing on a blunt while listening to Snoop Dogg:

They talked about this photo on MSNBC Monday morning. It was taken when Obama was a student at Occidental College. He showed up tot he photo shoot for a fellow classmate with the Panama Hat and pack of cigarettes. So, this is not an illegal substance he is smoking on in the picture. His book clearly states his past drug and alchol use, but this picture is not reflective of those activites.

My baby like the song when listening to it in the car (along with, Neyo, JHud, TI/Rihanna )but she is soooo far removed from music videos and the latest dances, etc.

When i see kids that can duplicate all the videos and know all the latest moves i wonder if its becase the parents are coaching them on and the kids like the attention/ praise that they get from duplicating adult behavior.

Not that Bey’s moves are way that out there but still.

SHANIASMOMMA imo nothing is wrong with the song, video or the little girls dancing to it. I’ve said it before and will say it again.. I MUCH RATHER LITTLE GIRLS SINGING ABOUT A RESPECTABLE THING LIKE PUTTING A RING ON IT THAN THAT BUST IT BABY BULLSCHIT ANY DAY..BESIDES those were professionally trained ballet dancers dancing w/Beyonce on that video.

What’s wrong with emulating that? Who else are kids to mock? I would rather my baby mock a grown successful, descent millionaire than one of these lil fas tail girls running around doing the “stanky leg” and what ever other local dances out…

there are certain moves in the video that a little girl shouldn’t be imitating. POINT BLANK. That Arianna girl is cute and all but the mama shouldn’t let her little girl gyrate to the ground like Beyonce does in that video(watch the vid, it’s there). Would you think it’s cute if the little girl was imitating check on it?

I’m not knocking the song or the kid’s dancing to routines. I think that the song is cute and is kind of a women’s empowerment theme.

My statement was more general in that some kids can do any routine that come on TV (no matter how good or bad it is)and I wonder if some adult is behind the scene encouraging b/c it’s cute.

For example, Ciara can pop her booty better that anyone I’ve seen in her videos. Beyonce be rolling on the floor and gyrating. If you learn at 3 years old that this is how to get attention. You’re a damn pro and popping and rolling by the time your 12/13.

I’ll watch videos on occassion and have watched them with my daughter around. I’m not frontin like a goody two shoes. But if she tries to imitate, I’ll teach her what’s right and wrong for her or what little girls are not supposed to do. Not cheer her on then put it on youtube.

I don’t see a problem with kids dancing or pretending to be Beyonce as long as it respectable and done in a child-like manner. No booty poppin no gyrating no grinding no droppin it cause yo shit ain’t old enough to be that damn hot.

We all played pretend though but it has to be kept in hand. I remember when i was little we use to pretend to be Solid Gold Dancers or the Chinese lady on Soul Train.

But like someone else said it’s no big secret and it’s never been kept on the hush hush. Let’s get a picture of Bush snorting Coke back in the 70’s/80’s.
