A woman, A man, & a baby, & a house
does not make for a happy home! It’s obvious that La La loves her man and their family, but based on some of rumors that have been spread about her man it seems to me that he has some maturing to do.
and I did say rumors-and there were plenty of them I can recall one not to long ago about him being drunk etc. and being arrested, this photo opp in “essence” was probably La La’s idea to put a rest to all of the rumors buzzing around about her and her man
I hope they last and most of all, I hope he makes her an honest woman and marry her, that would really show he’s committed to her and their family.

I highly doubt that, women are conditioned to beg,wait, and endure drama, infidelity, outside kids etc. and hang in there hoping that one day the man she loves will marry her
but why go through all of that when there are many men who will treat you right, and won’t make you wait years on end waiting and hoping that one day he will marry you, just because he loves you and is wise enough to put a ring on your finger and not risking losing you

@ msmullens, DeLaHoya’s wife is not anywhere near being from the hood. She happens to be a Latin pop singer with great success even way before she and Oscar met. She choose to stay with him bc she’s stupid. . . not bc she didn’t want to go back to the hood.
@ Hermosa- Thanks for clearing that up, didn’t know that part. But I’m sure her lifestyle has gotten only better with his money included. I still can’t believe what some of us females would do for money and/or love. Shaq wife is another example. Women have came out left and right who have admitted to sleeping with your husband, him paying their bills, and he kicks her and the kids out on their behinds and she still goes back. At the end of the day it balls down to what each party thinks of marriage and what value it holds. I mean what good is a marriage if a MAN is a CHEATER???? The same applies for live in relationships.

I see where everyone is coming from. I guess my own marriage just sort of burned me on the idea of marriage. We didn’t even pay that much for it and now I could kick my own behind because that money could of went to my daughter. I was pregnant with my son at the time. The marriage lasted all of two years. We only lived together 1 and I had to pay for my divorce and beg him to sign the papers so his cheating behind would leave me alone. I am not against marriage. mine just didn’t work.
@MissR – At the same time folks be engaged for liek 3 -5 years and have children in between. IMHO alot of times the marriage is more to pacify the female.
Brothas don’t feel any pressure to get married to a baby momma. It’s widely accepted and practiced in the community. How many brothas you know have 2-3 baby mommas that have never been married?
I know lots of them…we got far away from traditional beliefs and standards. Well I didn’t…but on top of that, people are asking me why I don’t have kids?

Oh Yeah .. @ Shunda … I FINALLY got the phone 50% figga’d out… got music loaded on it .. had to format the memory card like 3 times … when I load music from my home puter .. it’s there … when I charge it at my desk via usb card .. it wipes OUT the music i put on there from my home puter .. anywhoooo .. VZW’d tech support seems to think it’s a defective memory card.
I’ll be gettin them to swap me out another card when I’m out lookin for a LBD (lil blk dress) this weekend ;-)

I totally agree with where you are coming from. Life does not always go as planned. I know if I had it to do all over again I would have sat my hot in the behind (as my mama says it) self down. Thanks for the review Kwall. Interesting topic. I never experienced Jamaicans in Chicago but I have experienced Africans and I’m gonna have to agree with Blogger. I remember being in this club and this African dude came up to me talking ’bout how he loved Mexican women and I was the woman of dreams. . .basically saying everything a woman wants to hear except this boys breafffffffffff was kicking like Jean Claude Van Damn!!! He followed me the whole night and wouldn’t leave me alone. If I danced with another dude, he would stare them down and they would ask me if I was with him.
We had already rolled out of the club were about to enter the free way when we see the same African dude in the car right next to us talkin’ bout “gimme your number, your so gorgeous. I have to say I’ve never been married, and I don’t see a reason to do so. I believe that you can love someone as you may say unconditionally and still not be married. Plus after seeing everyone I know that got married get separated or divorced I’ll rather just keep my money and not have to go thru it
I am working on my control issues though b/c I don’t want to drive myself to an early grave – my great-grandmother is still alive and kicking at 103 so I got a good chance to last pretty long if I don’t mess up

I think that I was just having fun responding back without consideration that it may have hurt the person’s feelings. That’s why I kept asking do y’all take this seriously.
Sandra’s blog is definitely close knitted and emotional. So tact may be needed. I don’t have tact so, I don’t think that I can communicate on here too well. It’s like you have to change your whole structure to talk to women, which seems kind of phony to me at times. Everything is watered down and talk about nothing, that’s just how I feel. With women, it’s sensitivity and then with men it’s just straight up sorry to hurt your feelings that’s the truth, but I love you though and no hard feelings keep it moving.
