My name is D’Andra. You posted one of my pics as “Flavor of Decatur” under the 1,000 toys for 1,000 kids event @ Justin’s the other evening. I would just like to clarify that I was not actually @ the event. I was on my way to a CLUB event, and I remembered that my friend, Sabrina Montgomery, invited me to the event earlier. Although the event was over, I stopped and purchased toys for the children and dropped them off @ 12 am…

I didn’t even go in. The camera man asked us to take pictures, and we opted to do that. There were some very nasty comments left about me being around children dressed that way, when in actuality, there were NO CHILDREN there. I was doing something from my heart, and it upsets me that this is the result of my doing that. I have children of my own, and I don’t appreciate being portrayed in this manner (giving the kids lap dances???). Oh, and I don’t live in Decatur!!!

Candi Apple…she is actually a really sweet girl! She wanted to donate toys for the event, on her way to the club. Most mu’fuggas on the way to the club would’ve been like, I’ll hit ’em up later.

<——-clueless but I don’t understand what the big issue is. As pointed out in the email; D’Andra was en route to a club event hence the reason she looked a little out of place in the photos. Instead of drinking her money away or spending her money on her own children, she unselfishly chose to stop and purchase gifts and drop them off at the charity event. What is the harm in that? As kindhearted and generous as I am, I don’t think I would’ve stopped at the last minute to purchase toys and then drop them off.

As far as her attire goes, looking at this young lady’s picture again;she is OVERDRESSED (IMO) compared to some of the hoochies I’ve seen in the club. Nope, she didn’t pull a Khia. Instead of being all stank and ghetto,walking around with her breasts hanging thru the opening of her blouse, this young lady opted to put a bra top underneath. Other than showing a little cleavage, which I am guilty of, she leaves a lot to the imagination. Her makeup and her hair is on point so what is the problem? Really?

No, I am not perfect. And I haven’t hurled any stones at anyone. The comments that I have made were directed to celebs and their attire, choice of body art and/or their hairstyle. It is one thing to attack or critize a person’s ideas or opinions but to attack a person directly without merit is WRONG! Perhaps all the activity going on with the Holidays have folks thinking and acting a little loopy. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for everyone……

IMO, this is why some woman lose their idenity while being married and/or moms. We go to work and come home to the hubby and kids. Is our alone time when we are at work? NOT. D’Andra did a good deed before she went to the club. Is she going to the club to get sloppy drunk, meet a man or just meet up with a girlfriend for drinkds? The same as if we allow ourselves to get lost in other ppl and forget to do things we use to do prekids and prehubby. I just don’t want woman to stop doing what they did. My last kid left the nest 2 yrs. ago. After raising my own kids for the last 23 yrs. it’s not easy to not have them here. Just my opinion, not attacking you at all. I by nature am a home body and don’t think that because I am, everyone has to be. Some ppl personally take the time to do a good deed. I get online to donate or just mail off a check in hopes it goes to good use to my fav charities.

I have not seen a reason for me to backtrack on my comments. I didn’t assume there were children at the event and still thought her attire was in poor taste. Even if she was at the club she would be grouped in the ho category with her boobies all out.

So I stand by my comment that ladies don’t need to go out like this for the visual pleasure of men who won’t respect them anyway. Kwall I agree with everything in your re-but, and Yes I am a mother of 3 and yes if my “girls” call for a night on town they will be flaunted, and those that hate are those that can’t. Whether she plays an instrument of not she is by no mistake a pretty young lady, and once again I applaud her for stopping to get toys for the babies. And yes Kwall, I dont have a lot but more than some and I gave and will continue to give anytime that I can before, during, and after Christmas which is what we SHOULD be discussing anyway, tryna help these babies who dont have because a lot of us are just 40 hours from not being able to provide no matter how we pop on blogs!

I guess I’m the old fuddy duddy in the room. I did more than my fair share of partying with a little ho-in sprinkled in before I started having babies. Luckily, I’m so old that in my day a short tight skirt or leggins with pumps passed for sexy so I didn’t have to go as far as young ladies today even when I was at the age that it was important for me to have men lusting over my body. But when the babies came the partying had to decrease drastically for a number of reasons, the most important one being that I had a responsibility to my children to be at home. If my daughter wakes up in the middle of the night from a nightmare I’d rather be there for her than at the club trying to get my drink on, dance on or freak on. Now that is just me personally, but I stand firm on the belief that the babies come first. Ain’t nothing wrong with getting out every now and again, but people should have the party thing largely behind them when they start making babies.

Admittedly, I am an old fashioned chick who isn’t totally down with today’s values. America’s social life having parents are the reason our children are more jacked up than ever. Couple that with them either only having one parent in the home or two parents that both work and our children are getting less of our time than everything else. I don’t think that is ok and it plays a large part in the drastic increase in juvenile crime and America falling behind the rest of the world in education. Our priorities are skewed right now as evidenced by the fact that many people are defending this mother’s right to party and very few people have a problem with it and in fact proudly admit to the same behavior. Now I still got love for everybody, but that is my view.

I looked at her MySpace page and it is chock full of party pics. Her page basically represents her as a party girl. I based my statement on that. As for the reason women dress sexy, I only stated why I did it and still do it on occasion. When I was younger and even now I sometimes dress a certain way for the sole purpose of attracting attention from men. Whether I’m hunting for a date of just want an ego boost. That’s just me. Even then, I don’t do it by going too far in any respect. The cleave can be bumping without showing too much. Any classy form fitting outfit paired with stilettos is just as sexy as booty shorts in my humble opinion.

All that being sad, I am very conservative when it comes to family values and know that no everyone is going to agree, but I can’t help but try to win folks over to my side.

iyonah…i don’t wear leggins to a club! leggins is for the gym..for some people don’t know because they proberly never step foot in one! leggins is just funky looking to me. she should have wore a nice pair of DEREON JEANS and a nice shirt to the club.i’m sticking to my guns leggins are FUNKY! and not sexy at all.i can debate all day on this one..i was on the debate team in school..

And you know that. Yall know I ain’t got nothing but love for my Sandra Rose family. We can’t always agree. I can’t even imagine what that would look like. Shoot Sandra is my favorite blogger and I disagree with her 90% of the time. It definately ain’t no thang sis.

I’m with both of you. This outfit is not mom appropiate or even cute and I don’t care who throw tomatos at me.

She’s a pretty lady and I see nothig wrong with getting out and letting your hair down (if you’re a mom).

My nights out are just FEW and FAR between. And I do have some party pics that show me acting a dayum fool and i hope they NEVER make the internet.. but I’m in Miami on vacation. When I’m home, I’m mom. When I’m on vacation/ away from home… i kick it and flaunt it (w/ class).

Like Diva said, niccas will still drop stacks without putting the teets out there.

lol now that was the comment of the day. whats even more funny is people act like she cant have a life because she got kids. im sure everyone in here with kids have went out to a club before and its no harm in that. children will drive you crazy if u wanna get out for a couple hours to get your mind off things if you taking care of business in all other categories you have the right to do so

^^ i agree with all this. my mom raised five of us alone. she worked all damn week and made sure we were loved and taken care of. the only days she had to herself were the weekend. she cut the hell out quick, had her fun , and was always home before we got up. i can’t hate on any working mom who needs a time out from the kids.

i can’t hate on her clothes either because i tend to showcase the ” girls” every now and then when i’m feeling real cocky . lmao

Good Morning Everybody….

I don’t know if I am back to my normal self as of yet. The truth is no matter how you spin it this outfit is horrible. I did say she was a pretty girl. Just because she plays a few instruments does not take away from her choice of clothing for the evening. I play the piano (classical too but perfer R&B, Jazz, etc.), drums and guitar does that make me a better person? I still made those horrid comments (damn Candi Apple stop it)… I have had my moments where my choice of gear left alot to be desired. Being different I damn sure would start looking in the mirror before I left my house. And I would have laughed along with you guys. But, thats just my sense of humor.

I think that describes me to a tee. My teenager can talk to me about anything, including having sexual feelings. I walked in on her watching one of my adult movies and we even chatted calmly about that. But please believe she is all up on that yes ma’am, no ma’am and treating adults with respect thing. In fact I thought I was cool until she told me I wasn’t. Looking back, I am way more conservative than my mother who was more of a party goer. Maybe that’s why I don’t agree with it. I recall vividly missing my mom when she was gone.
