First Daughters First Day of School in D.C.
Michelle and Barack Obama hug their daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, goodbye as they leave their hotel to begin their first day of school in D.C. The Obama’s were forced to live in a hotel near the White House when Bush refused to give up the White House guest quarters.
Sasha peers out the window after the Secret Service motorcade dropped off her sister Malia at the Sidwell Friends School in D.C. Sasha is in 4th grade at another Sidwell campus across town.

I cannot say enough how I love this family. The children will do just fine.

I wonder if the motorcade is a big deal to them or if they think nothing of it. (meaning have they adjusted)
Imagine having to go through all of that to get to school each day.

Are you sure Sasha is in the 4th grade. Usually 7 year olds are in second grade. Your typically 9 in the 4th grade. Please tell us if she’s two grades ahead of the average 7 year old now that’s something to talk about.
Bush can keep his guest quarters at the White House cause he’s about to give up THE whole damn White House in (countdown) 14 days.

I think the Bushes booked up that place, not knowing who was going to win….I think Barack was the only candidate with small children…..
Let’s not forget these babies came from a Private school here in the Chi, so it is entirely possible they have skipped up some grades…..

Can anyone confirm what grade Sasha is in. I’m really curious. So many negative things have been reported about Barack but never any mention of how smart his girls are. There is only mention of how “grown” they seem.

i dont think the obamas wanted to move into the white house while bush was there…. thats just a made up story president elect obama has always said that he doesnt want to be isolated from the public.
